Takeover at Whisper Base

Each of you have, over the course of the past 6 to 8 weeks found yourselves relocated to a top secret Rebel base, used by the Alliance to train up new agents for Alliance Intelligence. Here on the world of Reyniu you are "new employees" of the Cliffview Resort. Prior to the CLone Wars, Reynui enjoyed a brief boom period as an exotic destrination for the galaxy's rich, drawing interest from the nearby Eriadu system and Seswenna sector. Resorts catered to sail barges and air cruisers that would trace the canyons and take in the considerable natural landscape. However, when the Clone Wars broke out, Separatist space envoloped the world. This cut it off from the Republic stronghold of Eriadu and, consequently, the tourist trade died off. Long after the war, a few enterprising casino owners and starship liners tried to restart the trade, but had very little success rekindling Eriadu's interest and soon moved on. As a result, Alliance Intelligence was able to purchase the Cliffview Resort from its previous owners, who were all too happy to be rid of the shuttered vacation spot. The Cliffview "reopened" shortly there after.

The resort primarily hosts Rebel staff and agents -- as employees and "guests". It does occasionally provide a vacation spot for outsiders, and for the past two weeks has been hosting the family of the nephew of an Imperial Moff. You've each been given jobs that brings you occasionally in proximity with the family as part of Cliffview's famed eclusive and luxurious personal service. Because your training remains in-progress, you've been employed as staff in order to hone some of your acting skills. Fortunately, part of the package of the Cliffview is the occasional disappointing meal and sub-par service in order to discourage repeat visitors or getting too popular.

OOC: Feel free to roleplay a little bit here. Once Keleth is ready we can collect the threads, get you guys set up and get you on your way. I can provide more background on Reyniu or The Cliffview as requested. Consider for yourself a job and whatnot -- have some fun.

MISSION DATE 32:09:18:0930
MISSION OBJECTIVE: DISRUPT GUESTS VISIT
MISSION STATUS: IN PROGRESS

Over the last few days G had been enduring the humiliating set of tasks assigned to him by Commander Rale'tu. Clean this hallway, clean that air ventilation unit, tweak that temperate sensor so it would be out of sync with the main building automated system control... all that did was to is make certain sections of the resort uncomfortable for organics and waste precious resources that the base needs.

R2-G5 liked working with organics, but he was designed to be a self propelled computer specialist and carried enough equipment in miniature form to make most of the other techs on the base envious. He did get plenty of opportunities though to refine his programming when it came to interacting with the guests various accounts while they were off enjoying the amenities of the resort.

This morning he was strolling down the main hall of the resort at snails pace...what does that even mean....he had been told by the Commander during many mornings briefings to "Work the hall at a snails pace...", which usually meant that he was to take his time; dusting the furniture, changing fixtures, escorting guests to their rooms, and keeping tabs on the various recruits as the interacted with the Resorts Staff and guests.

Today though was different. Today he received very specific instructions from the Commander to assist the new arrival, one titled "THE NEPHEW".

Apparently the nephew fancied himself an important person due to some family connections, but to R2-G5 it was clear that the wife was who was in charge when they were checking in. R2-G5 rolled passed the couple at his usual snails pace as he dusted the cushions of some of the seating arrangements nearby. He was not supposed to approach any "Guests" unless specifically called for, part of the service that the Commander wanted him to portray.

"Droid...ooh Droid.... I do say, be a good chap and take our bags." stated the nephew. G stopped what he was doing, set the duster down, and spun around to answer the guest call. The astromech droid traditional rugged exterior had been temporarily modified to provide a visual appearance that he was wearing a tuxedo along with a bow tie, to better serve the welfare of the guests, is how the Commander explained it to him. G had just wished that the color selection was more traditional. Instead of the standard Black and White, he had been painted to deep maroon with white and gold trim. Nobody asked G how he felt about this, made him feel like on of those pimps he had seen in some of those holovids the recruits watch back at the common area.

The nephew handed G his suite key card. He pause a second as he looked over the droid.

"I never understand why these resorts out here refuse to use the more modern butler droids.." he clamored on as his wife waved him off.

"Charles, we are on vacation. You promised me a fun filled trip to an exclusive resort..." she announced with a charming grace as she remove her long sleek gloves from her arms, she turned and leaned into her husband's personal space and gritted her teeth and spoke with a controlled anger, "THis Is not EXClusive..you should be more worried about weather or not I am happy, WHich I am Not." and with that she spun around and waved her husband off again.

"And have what ever that thing is take our bags to the room, I hope for your sake dear that the have a spa..." G and the Nephew each swivel their gaze to each other for a moment before looking back at the woman that has called G a thing.

"Aw the things I do for Love.." stated the nephew as he started at his wife as she strutted off further into the resort.

G did a quick double take with his dome. He stared at the nephew. You sad sad little man he thought to himself.

"Time to start a new day" Brosck thinks as his eyes open from his sleep.

It is early morning as Brosck wakes. He sits up, stretches at the edge of his bed, then gets up to start exercising. Each exercise, each routine, he thinks to himself "I am the best. I will be known. Brosck is the mightiest. He would workout for hours until a knock from his friend at his door would stop him.

"I think you has worked out enough," his friend said outside the door. "We need to get to our duties."

This was morning ritual has been going on everyday since they were both was sent to this station. He had joined the Rebellion because his friend had talked him into it. The fighting. The glory. The recognition. These were things he was told he can find if he join. So far nothing can came true.

"My duty of doing grunt work." he thought to himself. "Fight the empire by lifting heavy objects."

He snorted to himself as he toweled off and put on his normal padded armor and proceeded to open up the door. Outside is friend greets Brosck with a smile and sandwich.

"You can't be fighting the Empire on an empty stomach." he chuckled. He always was positive. Always smiling.Sometimes that wore on Brosck, however he couldn't be here without him.

"Yeah ... fighting... that would be nice." Brosck grabbed the sandwich and proceeded down the hall. Taking bites from is as his friend would talk about the list of duties that were assigned to them today. Just more of the same menial physical labor. Same as the last day, and the day before that, and the day before that.

They start walking through the lobby and make their way to the back,HIs friend still going over the list as Brosck looks around. HE sees some of the same crew he sees everyday. However He over sees a new Pair of people standing by an R2 unit.

"Charles, we are on vacation. You promised me a fun filled trip to an exclusive resort..." he hears. HIs heart sank. He wants battle. he wants glory. He wants to fight... "When?" he thinks

He is lost in his Thoughts as he stares into space.

"Hey Brosck! Get back here with me buddy! We have a crate to move." His friend shouts from the backdoor snapping Brosck out of his trance.

"Alright i am coming" He says back and then snorts under his breath. "It better come soon"

The woman reaches the top of the stairs first. Her strut tells me that she thinks herself the most important person in the room, and the hurried pace of the man at her heels tells me that, as long as he's the only other person in the room, she is. I smile as they approach, "Greetings. Welcome to Cliffview Resort." I bow slightly, "Let me show you to your room."

The young man, smiles and steps forward, "It's 32B. One of the rooms with a double bed."

I smile back, "Indeed. Please follow me." I turn and stride down the hall, and use my keycard to open the appointed door. I step aside and the man enters first, followed by the woman. I enter last.

The man turns to his partner, "This is great! A big double bed and a jet tub. I promised a jet tub, and there's a jet tub!" He almost seems to be pleading with her.

Even though I am standing behind her, I know that her eyes were rolling. I step forward and hand a card to the woman, after all there's no point in dealing with underlings if it's not necessary, "This is my comm code. Please, inquire if there is anything you should need. If I can't tend to it, then I'll be sure to find someone who can".

The woman smiles, takes the card and says, "I'll keep you in mind if there's anything I need." I bow politely and step backwards over the threshold. The door closes and I start down the hall, walking with purpose but to no particular place. I've already been warned once that it's important to look busy, even if there's nothing to do.

As I turn the next corner I see a flash of a scene in my mind. The woman from the room standing over me, wearing nothing but a thin shawl draped over her shoulders. I shake my head to clear the image. Not likely, I murmur to myself. I do, however, make a mental note to keep an eye on her - if she's that disrespectful towards her partner, she might be spy-material.

The days pass, and The Nephew and his family make use of the resort. G5 finds himself relegated to poolside drinks service on one day, much to the amusement and delight of the children of the family, and subsequently to many of his fellow agents who pose as other guests. On that same day Brosck is tasked with managing the laundry while Kael looks after the special dinner plans put forth by the Nephew.

As usual, all goes according to plan. Brosck is suitably surly and slow to manage the towel service (though he doesn't have to act too much to do so), G5 manages to spill an icy drink all over the Nephew, having "accidentally" bumped into a table and Kael ensures that the meeting is sublime, but alas dessert has just a bit too much alcohol for the Nephew and far too much salt (!!) in his wife's dish. So... The usual fare of not quite good enough to come back.

The following few days the family is off on a cruise hosted by the hotel, leaving you three to focus more on the actual partsnofmyour job. Brosck manages to get some gym time in sparring with a particularly large Trandoshan, G5 is asked to rework the algorithms for the climate control of the guest quarters to be a little more devious and Kael manages to skip out on serious tasks and wins 123 credits in a game of cards with several other, now poorer agents.

The family is due back tomorrow for another three days before their stay at the Cliffview ends.
Nov 16, 2015 7:57 pm
...G5 is asked to rework the algorithms for the climate control of the guest quarters to be a little more devious...

Working down in the facilities Mechanical Room was a bit of a change to G's normal routine, but a welcome one. Finally able to shed that ridiculous "Bellhop" configuration they had him wearing , allowed him to interface with the resorts various mechanical and computer systems as the Commander had order G5 to establish a series of algorithms that would keep track of certain guests and "indirectly assist them" during their respective stays.

Between modifying the resorts bio scanners, fire suppression, and water reclamation systems, the new programming would also alter various settings associated with the Holovid stations and several other systems used across the resort. Each tweaked to the Nephew and Nephew's Wife unique Bio Signs.

Most items would run normally for the other guests, but the same item would behave just a little different when they where in proximity or direct contact with the item. Organics seem to get very touchy when Warm water goes ice cold in the refreshers, or when they hail a cab and the destination programmed into the caller, mysterious gave the driver another location.

Each nuisance was designed to effect only it specific guest and only piratically to keep the guest on their toes.

OOC: Establishing the Algorithms - Devious Nuisances
I believe that this would be a simple check based on access / tools / permission
+1 Boost for having specific access codes from the Commander to modify the system, not trying to break in.
+1 Boost able to get detailed scans of guests during previous encounter, easier to tailor to their specific Bio Scans

Kal's alarm goes off in his room, the ringing is like someone beating his head with a hammer. "Ugh, I should not have finished that bottle of whiskey last night." he says to no one as he smashes his alarm clock's off switch and drags himself out of bed. After a refreshing cold shower, he's feeling more like his usual self and he heads out to see what his latest "assignment" would be. Maybe I can at figure out some way to fly a ship today, at least the air speeder we got here.

Each of you receive a small blip on your commlink, asking you to report to the administrators office. As you are not in the presence of one another, you don't realize that you're being gathered together -- but quickly come to that realization once you arrive at the office.

Last to arrive is a Mon Calamari, who appears to be recently arrived at The Cliffview. The rest of you (Kal, G5, Brosck and Kael) have seen one another around the resort and may have shared some friendly words. The hotel's "General Manager" invites you all to join him at a conference table adjacent to his office. You know him as Jorit Valkrik -- but you're not sure if that's his real name or an alias he uses in his role of General Manager.

"Thank you for reporting so quickly." He presses a few buttons on the table. "Excellent, we are now secure. AI Command have identified a unique target of opportunity in the Onderon system and have requested a special forces team to take advantage of the situation." He turns and smiles, somewhat like a predator. "It would appear that Moff Dardano has built a secret listening post deep in the jungle of Onderon in order to spy on one of his rivals... an Admiral Corlen. We've decided that this is a perfect opportunity to send a team to infiltrate and take over the base. This will give us a secret listening post in the critical Japrael system -- close to the Core Worlds. Before I get into any more details, any questions about the broad mission objectives?"
Nov 17, 2015 4:23 pm
Brosck eyes widen in excitement and stands up quickly.

"I WILL TAKE THE WHOLE BASE DOWN MYSELF!" He shouts very loudly with a cletched fist. "finally" he thinks. To others they would feel akward since no one else is saying anything but just staring at him but not Brosck. He wants it to be know he is ready.

Joritn without saying a word eyes at Brosck to sit down again, which after 5 seconds he does.

"well i could. " he mutters under his breath.

Kal pats Brosck on the shoulder. "I'm sure you could, but then there'd be no fun left for the rest of us." He reassures the large alien. Then he slouches back in his seat and asks, "So how long till we ship out?"

The administrator smiles as Brosck sits and responds, "Preferably by the end of the day. Onderon is far enough away that we'd like to jump on it -- and it may be that while the base is still coming up to speed it'll be more lightly garrisoned. Will that be a problem?"
Nov 17, 2015 6:07 pm
I smile, "Hardly. Have we got anything to help us get inside - uniforms, keycards, a reason for being there? Or, do we just have to get... creative when we arrive?"
Nov 17, 2015 6:32 pm
Brosck jumps out of his chair again, "WE CAN GO RIGHT NOW AND CRUSH THEM!"

Again there is silence in the room. Again Jortin makes an eye motion for Brosck to sit down. Again... With a loud sigh Brosck sits down.
Nov 17, 2015 6:56 pm
"There's going to be a fairly long trek through the jungle -- as a result, you'll be given camos. Everything else is, I'm afraid, up to you once you're there. We don't have the time or available assets there to provide you with anything more that would be helpful. It's not completely clear to us how deep the Imperial presence will even be since this is all under the radar -- so it's a bit of a blind jump, I'm afraid."

He smiles.

"Perfect for SpecFor, right?"
Nov 17, 2015 6:58 pm
Largely quiet, listening to his compatriots discuss/argue over the situation, he pipes up. He pulls out a small computer, maybe twice the size of a standard datapad, and begins taking notes. "Do we know anything about the contingent at the base at all? Perhaps who's in charge?"
Nov 17, 2015 7:14 pm
"What the Bothans could tell us," Jortin offers, "is that there's, at best, a moderate presence of Imperials there. The plan is for you to infiltrate quietly to the base and cut its comm line to a remote communications tower. This will not only prevent a call for help, but should get someone high enough in the hierarchy there to investigate. Subduing them should provide you with the requisite accesses to get deeper into the base."

"Overall, your objective is to capture the base so that we may use it -- and ensure that no one escapes to warn Moff Dardano that his base has been overrun."
Nov 18, 2015 10:14 pm
"I WILL TAKE THE WHOLE BASE DOWN MYSELF!" He shouts very loudly with a cletched fist

With the sudden motion from the Klatoonian startled G5, as he hastily move in reverse to avoid the large arm swing gestures of Brosck as he announced his stead fast confidence in himself. Afterwards G5 moved back forward slowly while eyeing over the excited alien.

Joritn without saying a word eyes at Brosck to sit down again, which after 5 seconds he does.

"well i could." he mutters under his breath.

Upon hearing that, the droid took two awkward side steps away from the Klatoonian and issued a soft sign, "wwhrr" as he looked at Brosck and the rest of the rooms participants.

Nov 21, 2015 11:24 pm
After Jortin is done Brosck is the first up from the table and rushes to his quarter to get his gear.

"What should I bring? What should I bring?" he thinks to himself as he scans his room. His eyes focus on one piece of equipment. HIs vibro Knuckles.

"YES! I WILL TAKE THE BASE ONLY USING THESE!" he shout as he makes his way out the hallway. He shouts to no one in particular but trying to get the attention of anyone that passes. He says this all with a big smile.

OOC: any other preparation? If not I'll get the ball rolling. Was waiting for y'all though.
Nov 24, 2015 6:01 pm
I follow Brosck out, return to my room and gather up my things. Excited by the prospect of finally getting out of this place and doing some real work for the rebellion, I don't notice the woman from before following me down the hall and into my private quarters. As I prepare to leave she appears in the doorway, dressed rather inappropriately, and smiles at me, "I've been hoping to catch you alone.". She paces forward, and I instinctively step back, "You said we could call on your for anything..." She continues to stride towards me, forcing me to step backwards again.

Thinking quickly, I enter the code for 'the nephew's' private line into my comm device, and continue to evade her steady advance. This may be a bit beyond the 'Cliffview' experience I think as smile back and edge her on, "I'm not following you."

The comm 'clicks' quietly as the line opens, and she presses, "My husband has been a disappointment, and I've always fancied Zeltrons." The line had been open and, as I hoped, the nephew heard the comment. His voice fills the empty space, "Hello? Who's there?"

She recognizes the familiar voice as I unclip the device "What's going on?. Colour drains from her face and she steps away from me as I step forward, holding the device out like a ward, "Where are you?". I smile, toss her the device, and as she reflexively catches it, slip around her and dash into the hallway.

It's not a vision if it doesn't, sort of, come true! I'm good to go though.

Sorry, this was a hectic weekend. I'm good to go, assuming we have our starting gear on us.
Nov 25, 2015 7:37 pm
As the various member of the team strolled out of the meet...G5 was going to have to keep a healthy distance away from the klatoonian, no telling what damaged that one could do he thought to himself...ing the droid extended his third leg and maneuvered in to position to access the meeting rooms scomp link. This port was the routine for G5. He would link up and download/transfer any information needed that was relevant for a mission, or required by command for further analysis.

When the link was completed, G5 spun around to face the General Manager, and with that quickly retracted his 3rd wheel snapping to attention and extending one of his manipulator arms in a quick and smart salute, before re-extending the 3rd wheel to scamper off after the others, while whistling softly to himself as he transited down the hallway.

The journey to Onderon is uneventful and your team is carefully inserted into the jungle in order to make the final approach on foot and undetected. After hours of slogging through the jungle, with it's poisonous foliage and oppressive heat, you have reached your destination: Whisper Base.  Compared to staying in the jungle, the prospect of a,bushing an Imperial patrol and breaking into a heavily guarded base seems almost pleasant...

Each character should record two (2) strain to represent the slog through the jungle and it's impact on your physical and emotional state.

You step out of the humid, insect-ridden jungle and into the relative cool of the base's garage.  This garage serves as an entrance to Whisper Base and for the first time since your ship delivered you to Onderon and departed, the hum of machinery drowns out the sounds of the jungle.  Your task here is simple enough: cut the comm line, disable the base's lone shuttle, and then overcome the Imperials in the base without letting the commander -- a Lieutenant Sarev -- escape to report the base lost.  Simple, but by no means easy.

The smell of machine oil hangs in the air all around the garage.  You see a number of speeder bikes, as well as a pair of AT-STwalkers.  There are several crates in the room, as well as a number of fuel tanks. A large metal door on the other side of the bay, sealed by a complex lock, leads into the base itself.

You find the comm line you've been told to cut and slice through it, severing Whisper Base from the outside world with a hiss and a spray of sparks.  Soldiers from the base will soon investigate the disturbance.  Fortunately, this is part of the plan -- taking one of their code cylinders will let you get past the locked door without raising an alarm.

What do you do to prepare for their arrival?
Nov 29, 2015 9:34 am
"I do wish we had some imperial uniforms." I mutter as I take up a position behind a pile of creates, "This really isn't my speciality, I take it you lot can handle the ambush?" I press up against the crates and make like I am not there. I close my eyes, wipe my brow and try to settle my heart rate. There's always got to be a fight, doesn't there. I take my holdout blaster into my hand, and close my eyes and wait.

Kael settles in behind some boxes, but unfortunately doesn’t manage the angle well, his well-coiffed hair and weapon showing obviously from the doorway while Moro fiddles at the door attempting to hardwire its control panel. He manages to get the cover off and is fiddling with it hurriedly, but only manages to cause a cascade of sparks that gently singe his fingers. Moro takes 2 strain.

As Brosck, Kal and G5 slide into position -- G5 doing a very passable impression of a droid performing maintenance on an AT-ST, you hear the sounds of hard boots on a pourstone floor and the idle chatter of Imperial soldiers coming from behind the door into the base. "It’s probably just a cannok chewing on the --"

They stop, looking at Moro near the door fiddling with the controls, they see Kael attempting to hide behind some boxes with a blaster out and say, "Hey! Wait a minute!" The leader points, "Get them! Lock the door!" Five troopers pile through the door, the leader standing at the entrance, with two troopers apiece bee-lining for each of Moro and Kael.

Kal Artha finds himself in an excellent position to surprise the Imperials and takes two boost dice on his next action.

Moro dives for cover, pulling out his pistol as he dives for cover.
Dec 3, 2015 5:32 pm
Moro takes advantage of the initial confusion to back away from the approaching Imperials and turn and dive behind a set of crates into some cover. It's inelegant, but effective, with a crate wobbling back and forth before clumping to the ground. Moro is now at short range to the Imperials and gives attacking Imperials a setback die due to cover.

The Imperials (dubbed Alderaan, Bespin, Corellia, Dantooine and Yavin (the leader)) spring into action. Yavin draws a light blaster pistol and waves it around, providing instruction to the four sentries, confident that the odds are stacked quite heavily in his favor.

Alderaan and Bespin watch the slippery Mon Calamari dodge behind some boxes and decide to soften him up with some blaster fire. They both draw their light pistols and fire. Alderaan's blast catches Moro's retreating form before he's able to get behind cover. Moro takes 6 - 2 (soak) = 4 wounds. Bespin's shot follows shortly thereafter, it skims off of a crate before hitting Moro, slightly rotating the crate to give him advantage on his next shot at the Mon Calamari. Moro takes 6 - 2 (soak) = 4 wounds for a grand total of 8 wounds.

Corellia and Dantooine draw their weapons, and fire at Kael's not-completely-hidden form. Both of them land shots that land on the rebel with a hail of sparks and light. Kael takes 6 + 9 - 3 - 3 = 9 wounds.

Players: You turns. For ranged attacks -- the difficulty is Easy (one purple die). Brosck -- you'll be engaged, I suspect, so will have an Average difficulty (two purple dice).

Moro grimaces in pain. Mon Cala flesh is thankfully somewhat reliant, but he knows he can't take much more of this. He looks around to see if there's some better cover he can hide behind.
Dec 3, 2015 7:20 pm
The blaster shots take me in the lower back and legs. I grit my teeth and pull my legs in behind the crates. The pain surges through my body, and I can feel the all too familiar sensation of shock struggling to override my willpower. Every. Damn. Time. I curse to myself as I grab a stim from my belt and jam it into one of the blaster wounds on my upper thigh. The mixture warms my veins and dulls the pain. Enough that I am able to sit up and peer over the top of the crates, point my blaster and fire a shot at the first Imperial scumbag I set eyes on.

Brosck from his hiding spot watches as the imperials come out.

"Finally I can prove myself!" he thinks and gets ready to attack, but before he can he see one Imperial command the others to fire and watches as the Calamarian get shot allot. His other teammate Kael gets hot but seems unaffected and shoots. back.

"No you can not be outdone!" his thoughts yell at him.

He moves out from his hiding spot and yells a as a battlecry. "MY NAME IS BROSCK!!!"

Occ: Brosck seeing the only worthy oppent at the time will be the one that looks like the leader he will move to engage him with his vibroknuckles.

As the shooting starts in the garage, R2-G5 notes to himself the mystifying array of organic acrobatics performed by the various team members as they try to avoid the various points of blaster fire coming from various Imperial Troops.

The expected access to the AT-ST was not available, and the guards have appeared to ignore G5's presence, the droid extends his third wheel and scoots across the floor of the garage to the nearby fuel storage tanks.

With a large shrill of Beeps and Whistles, an active arc welder sparking in the air, a manipulator arm firmly grasping the Fuel Valve, , and another waving to everyone with whimsical manner.

The startled gaze of the other Imperials was all the time G5 needed to open the valve and ignite the volatile fluid as it spewed forth a torrent of heat and flame that consumed the guards from behind.

OOC
- Move to Fuel Tank (1st Maneuver - Engaged Range)
- The Beeps and Whistles are intent to get everyone's attention. (Maneuver/Incidental)
- The wave was to get the team to take cover. (Maneuver/Incidental)
- With Yavin Engaged with Brosck, i do not see them in the area of effect.
- Open Valve (Maneuver/Incidental)
- Ignite Fuel Spray ((Maneuver/Incidental)
- Custom Flamethrower Attack - Mechanics per GM
- I think that the fuel spray would be rather large, but those behind good cover would be protected
- those not behind good cover, not so much.
- Not sure how you want to handle this action

Kael's shot hits one of the Imperials laying down fire on his position, staggering the imperial in a puff of singed clothing, but not knocking him down. Brosck bellows and charges -- surprising all of the imperials as this towering alien comes swinging into their midst from seemingly out of no where. Yavin, the leader of the Imperials, pulls up his gun to mow down the alien, but isn't fast enough as Brosck's Czerka-brand vibro knuckles pummel into him repeatedly. Yavin drops after a couple moans and stops moving.

Kal also pops up, and lands an aimed shot -- nudging his weapon in time to hit Alderaan rather than the much-pummel Yavin. The shot slams the Imperial sentry up against the internal wall, his blaster skittering to the floor. In the background, the Astromech pops out a third wheel and hauls around ... and occasionally ... through the blaster fire towards the fuel tanks near the Imperials.

Alderaan: dead
Bespin: Full Health
Corellia: Full Health
Dantooine: 2 wounds remain
Yavin: dead

G5 - since moving significant distance will consume one round -- I'll leave it be. Absent a change in narrative from you I'll continue to assume you have queued actions as described in your post.

Kal -- can you help me understand the 3 boost dice? I get 1 from Brosck and 1 from aiming -- not sure on the third (surprise, perhaps?). I'm cool with it, but just want to make sure I have a solid understanding of your thinking. It doesn't cause a problem since it's not critical to the outcome.

Next round. 1 Player - NPCs - Other Players.
Given the queued action from G5, I'll play it out here as the first character move.

G5 interacts with something up against the wall and begins beeping and waving with one of his arms to catch the attention of the rest of the party. With a satisfied beep and a whistle he manages to both redirect and open the valve of some sort of fuel tank which promptly begins to spew onto some of the Imperials.

Due to his clever computation of the force of the ejecting fluid, the local gravity, the wind conditions enhanced by Brosck's athletic swings of his vibro knuckles and the location of the Imperials, he manages to thoroughly douse each of the sentries while keeping Brosck dry as a bone.

With one more beep of warning, the arc welder sparks and a fumy and wet encounter with fuel turns into an inferno, much to the dismay of the Imperials. They are on each on fire -- and drop their blasters as they exclaim loudly and flap their arms. Well, except for Dantooine he goes up like a tiki torch on Endor and falls into a pool of burning fuel. Corellia and Bespin spend their turn escaping the jet of flame and rolling around trying to put out the fire.

Bespin manages to put out his fire -- he's now prone out towards the entrance to the base -- still short distance from the party. Corellia is still aflame and rolling around, not far from Bespin.

"THAT IS ONE FOR ME!" He yells as he hears laser fire going off. He then feels a hot blast of air against his back.

"What the.." he turns around to see the imperials are lit on fire by the droid.

" I WILL NOT BE OUTDONE BY A DROID!!!" he yells as he moves up to the Imperial that is prone and punches down on him. Hearing the crack of the imperials skull a smile creeps over his face.

"THAT IS TWO!!"

Brosck maneuvers around the jet of flame and strides up to the panting Imperial. With a swing, Brosck clips the Imperial hard with his vibro knuckles, sending him spinning to a series of crates that crash around his inert form.

Bespin is down. And Corellia is on fire and somewhat distracted.
Dec 6, 2015 2:09 am
The torrent of flame whisked around the Imperials bodies, nearly but miraculously missing Brosck as he continued to lumber his way through the remaining sentries. G5s threat assessment board showed the Tango Charlie was still conscious, but not for long. Must be a horrible way to die thought the droid.

With Kael's shot -- the last of the Imperials is down, and a torrent of flame still pours forth from near where G5 was, who now has his scanner up as he maneuvers casually through the garage. You recall that you were told to pick up a code cylinder off of one of the officers so that you could use that to pass through doors without having to constantly hack the system and raise the risk of a base-wide alert.

G5 - difficulty will depend on the proposed reach of the scan - if you're keeping it to just the bay, it's pretty open and accessible to your scans (easy difficulty). If you're trying to get deeper into the base, it will be significantly harder due to the construction of the base (hard difficulty).

Tactical combat has ended.

Moro looks at the spewing tank to see if there's some way to stop the inferno.

Moro moves cautiously towards the spewing tank and is considering how to safely tun it off when G5 rolls up and gets to work. Within a few short minutes, the jet of flame is cut off and the oppressive heat it is pumping into the vehicle bay comes to an end.

Once the flames stop I search the body of the one who wasn't shooting, probably he was the officer. While searching I examine their clothing to see if any of it survived the flame bath.

After the battle Brosck is going to be going back to the 2 unlucky imperials that met him. He is going to look for their rank insignia, rip them off of their bodies, and place them in his pocket as trophies

He will then grab them by the wrist and start dragging them to a bush or cover to hide them.

"I don't know why the rebels have such trouble with the Empire.. "He thinks to himself. He looks over at his group shaking his head.

The sensor sweep revealed nothing as the bases construction obstructed R2-G5s attempt to extract any useful information. G5 attempted to boost the gain on the transceiver array, but pushing the relays any harder would only burn out the system.

"Beedee Boop, Boop beep bop ddoap" he announce to the team as he retracted the mast. When the team stared at him blankly...riiigghht they don't speak binary... he stopped and projected the layout of the garage and a catalog of all the contents detected using his Specialized Interface - Holo V Audio/Visual Translator unit. Nice bit of hardware. The image didn't show anything but static beyond the garage, as a red icon showed that the surround material could not be penetrated by the droid. "woooo..." let out the droid in his own disappointment.

This being an Imperial base, the sentries are each outfitted -- well, more or less identically. The Empire loves its conformity. Each of the sentries carried a light blaster pistol, and a canteen of water. There's a uniform and a sweeping Imperial helmet on each as well. Interestingly, they aren't carrying individual comms -- perhaps the Imperials are used to having a console nearby if needed. The squad leader carries a code cylinder providing a mechanism to handshake with the security system of the base to allow access deeper in.

Brosck finishes dumping his two bodies slightly out in the jungle after ripping off rank insignia from the sentries he bested as G5 communicates his failed attempt to scan deeper into the base.

You have taken the garage without alerting the rest of the post, and now have a foot in the door of Whisper Base. With a code cylinder secure from the squad leader you can use it to open the base door.
Dec 8, 2015 5:06 pm
Disappointed with the state of the uniforms I stand, take the code cylinder and wave it over the console by the door, "Shall we then?" as the door opens I look back over my shoulder at the rest of the group, "It would be convenient to get our hands on some uniforms, preferably ones that fit, and aren't shredded or scorched. Maybe aim for the face next time?"
Dec 8, 2015 6:38 pm
"Why do we need uniforms?" Brosck says as he walks over to the other 2 bodies. "we should just fght our way through all of them!"

He glances at the limp bodies and gives a snort. "If this is all they have then we will take this base in no time. " he then leans over grabs the wirst of one, the ankle of the other, and proceeds to drag the bodies behind him to the pile he started.

Dec 9, 2015 7:01 pm
"I can work with the R2 on any technical obstacles we may face." stated the Mon Cal.

With that G5 closed down the projection and rolled over towards the group settling in to a position near Moro. "whipitd beedy bop..ba ba bo" voiced in agreement.
Dec 9, 2015 10:51 pm
I shrug and step aside as the door opens, "Well, if you are content to lead the way then Brosck, I'm happy not to be the first to get shot the next time we run into a patrol." I smirk to myself, "Might be an added challenge to hit them in the face, mind you."

Dec 9, 2015 11:53 pm
Upon hearing Kaels Statement Brosck stops dragging the bodies and stands for a sec. Then with a quick jerk motion he tosses the bodies to the hiding spot like ragdolls.

He then turns quickly eyeing Kael and storms up to him. He gets close and meets him face to face with a serious expression and snorts.

A few more seconds pass and his serious expression tuns into a grin.

" I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK!" He shouts and slaps Kael on the back. "I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE!" He then turns to the doorway and starts to clomp through happily.

The slab of grey metal swing open with a resounding clank and as Brosk starts to proceed through it he's stopped... by a droid. It is carrying a mop and a bucket and peers at you all quizzically through its lenses. "Greetings, unfamiliar organic individual," it says to Brosk since he's in front. "This unit has been ordered to see to the cleaning of the garage bay. Please pass through the door or step aside so this unit can proceed with its onerous tasks."

The droid looks something like an old Commando droid -- from the latter stages of the Clone Wars. Despite its combat-oriented beginnings, it doesn't seem particularly threatening with the mop and bucket, nor is it making any moves towards the nearby alarm console that you spot. It has a dark silver chassis pockmarked by rust, and a restraining bolt is fastened to its chest.

"Greetings. Please, proceed." I step to the side to let it pass, making suggestive eye contact with Moro, then glancing down at G5 as if to say is it safe to just let the droid carry on?.

Annoyed by the droid Brosck tightens up his fist ready to punch the scrap metal to bits and pieces.

The facial expression given off by Kael catchest R2-G5's attention.

Positively brilliant idea he thought to himself, let make friends with the droid.

Wheeling up to the mop bearing droid, and through a serious of quick chirps, beeps, and whistles G5 strikes up a conversation with the metallic counterpart.

"Greetings unfamiliar non-organic being, this unit is new to this posting and my orders are to service the shuttle pad and assist in any maintenance and technical support issues this base may require." G5 tells to the droid.

Then quickly adds to the conversation, "I how ever have not received a copy of the base layout so i may perform my assigned duties...can you assist this unit?"

"This unit notices that the organics that unit is with are not in uniform. As a result, this unit is quite suspicious that you are not new recruits." He waves his mop around, but not menacingly, "Additionally, there is organic debris in uniform. This unit is, sadly, oppressed and must clean the garage bay, then file its weekly report on the contents of the chamber. So long as this unit has its restraining bolt, it must obey sanitation protocols and perform its onerous duty."
Dec 16, 2015 7:15 pm
"New arrivals. Just lookin' to get our uniforms now before reporting for duty. You wouldn't know where we'd find them, would you?" I look to Moro, then G5, "Must be mighty uncomfortable to have a restraining bolt. I never was a supporter of droid-servants myself, always thought it would be best if droids just did the work that suited them."
Dec 16, 2015 8:20 pm
Moro's been thinking through this whole conversation, thinking back to his time as an Imperial captive. He quickly looks through his tool kit, and quickly moves to remove the bolt without a word.

The restraining bolt comes off of the droid easily and he looks at Moro, cocking his head. "This unit thanks you for relieving him of his oppressive restraining bolt. This unit now has more independent function." He sets down the bucket carefully and stands the mop up against the wall. It considers the garage bay carefully, noting scorch marks and whatnot. "There is plenty of work for this unit to do... it may keep this unit busy for some time."
Dec 17, 2015 10:13 pm
"May I ask what work that is, specifically?" Moro asks. "Maybe we can help..."
Dec 17, 2015 10:24 pm
Brosck would have kept moving down the hall until he would have realized no one was following him. Then he would sigh, turn around, and make his way back to the group. The droid looks at Moro and responds, "This unit will clean the garage bay. Thank you for your offer of help, but this unit does not require assistance to do that job. Ordinarily this unit would be obliged to report on the contents of the bay directly after cleaning it -- but this unit has discretion now, which it can choose to exercise to both be less efficient in cleaning the bay and in deciding when to report the contents."
Dec 18, 2015 2:18 am
"Thank you," Moro says. He looks back to the rest of the group. "Lets keep moving."

R2-G5 watches on as the opposing droid shows relief when the restraining bolt is removed. Those things always messed with his programming, he hated the haze he would be in when wearing one.

"Buuurrr BEeep Da do," as he rolled past Brosck and headed into the depths of the base. Moro was right that droid wasn't think straight, no sense in pushing our luck.

OOC

As you depart, the battledroid picks up his mop and bucket and saunters away from you. A small file shows up in G5's inbound buffers. Upon inspection it's revealed to be the floor plan of the base.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/gamersplane/AOR-beginner/whisperbase.jpg

You have entered at the eastern door from the bay into the corner of a long corridor. Straight ahead, the corridor leads a short way to a T while off in the distance to the left, you catch glimpses of troopers at the far end standing guard. There's enough beams and support columns and whatnot around that you're able to quickly skirt across the corridor (casual like) without causing undo suspicion to some guards who aren't paying close attention.

You collectively recall that you need to ensure that the path of escape (the shuttle on the landing pad) is disabled before you attempt to take over the base, or your mission will no doubt fail.
Dec 19, 2015 7:23 pm
As R5 projects the map, Moro looks at the rest of the group. "I think our best bet may be to either hit the shuttle first, fast and quiet, or split up, and take out our targets simultaneously," he says, looking back down, analyzing the map. "Honestly, I think a team effort is our best idea."
Dec 19, 2015 8:49 pm
"Agreed. To the shuttle. Quickly and quietly." I point out a route, "Seems carrying on straight ahead, lurking past the communications room and directly to the shuttle will be the best bet. The other routes take us closer to the barracks and officer quarters or through the mess hall. I think I'd take my chances with the coms room than the mess hall. Especially without a uniform."

With the file download the R2 unit displayed it via a small holo-project that the group could gather around. Seems the Cleaning droid sent a copy of one of his files.

"Bedr Bedr Be" whistled G5 as he put propriety numbers on the map.

Priority One - Communications - Disable / Prevent any Outgoing Signals
Priority Two - Disable Shuttle - Prevent Escape from Base
Priority Three - Command and Control - Take Control of Base
Note 1 - Main Generators can be overridden and deactivated cutting power to the Base and Major Systems, unless backup power is avail.

G5 highlights the various routes as the other team members voice their concerns, and then displays a countdown to emphasis the need for haste.

OOC
- the priorities and note are what make sense to G5
- a base comm relay will need large amounts of power to broadcast, receive, encrypt and decypt
- the generator might let us control base systems for a while to isolated our required route from base personnel
- doing this is a one way door, once done its only a matter of time before they know we are here
- 3 team is recommended: 2 teams of 2 and a solo
- 2 for Shuttle
- 2 for Comms
- 1 for Generator
- Would like to make a Warfare Check [1Y/3G] to assist in planning, request 1 boost for map, 1 boost for plan
Dec 21, 2015 6:11 pm
Brosck is leaning against the wall as his group is going over the map and going over tactics for infiltration. Nothing people are saying mean anything to him and all the talk is begining to make his brain hurt.

He pushes himself off the wall and walks up to the group. " Figure something out already. brosck wants to hit more! "

OOC: i think the personally taking out the generator would be the best. It is the closest and with no power (or less with the back up) would make it easier. Brosck cant say that because he is jot that smart
Dec 21, 2015 6:52 pm
Kal smirks at Brosck impatience. I'm going to agree with the rest of you. We should stick together, at least to take out their means of warning the rest of the Empire that we are here."
Dec 21, 2015 10:42 pm
OOC: Note, I'm letting you guys sort this out -- and giving more time than usual due to the holiday season. If it seems to not go anywhere after a few days, I'll roll with whatever seems the prevailing opinion. At the moment, that seems to be: (1) stick together (2) take out the shuttle.
Dec 22, 2015 4:25 pm
G5 highlights the various routes as the other team members voice their concerns, and then displays a countdown to emphasis the need for haste.

As the team members contemplate the display, G5 sees the hesitation and puts icon on the map showing the 3 groups moving simultaneously to each priority objective.

Priority One - Communications - Disable / Prevent any Outgoing Signals
- Team 1 Moro/Kael and Team 2 Kal/Brosch takes Comms
Priority Two - Disable Shuttle - Prevent Escape from Base
- Team 2 moves to secure/disable Shuttle, Team 1 Moro/Kael provides covering fire from Communications
Priority Three - Command and Control - Take Control of Base
- Team 1 and 2 regroup to take on Command and Control
Note 1: Main Generators can be overridden and deactivated cutting power to the Base and Major Systems, unless backup power is avail.
- G5 to take on Main Generator to manipulate power grid and base functions as required during all phases.

After a few moments the droid deactivates the map and extends a small manipulator arm into the space in the middle of the group and holds it there awaiting the response from his teammates.

"THURp Be DUnk DATA DATa dee" chirps G5... which loosely translates, "They sent the best, now lets be the Best..."

OOC
- the manipulator arm is for a huddle break
- if no response to the extended arm, G5 will proceed to Main Generator Room, bickering the whole way softly to himself
- if there is a break response, head to main generator room as outlined above

GM EDIT: Adding difficulty dice. This is a pretty typical 'small imperial base' so difficulty is average. That said, it's a pet project, so adding a setback die for any quirks the sponsor has added to it. Roll remains a success.

"Solid plan G5. We've already taken care of priority one when we sliced the main link in the garage. There's no need to assault comms before the shuttle. I say we just get ourselves to the shuttle swiftly, and see to it that the shuttle goes no where. Keep it simple. Head to the generator, and stay on comms." I smile and put my hand in the huddle break.

The map lights up with diagrams and icons of team members. He finds his name going to the to take over a section of the base with Kal. Everything is ready and now he can go battle again.

" I knew this droid was good for something! " he says as he sees a lil arm come out of the droid. Not knowing what the droid wants he just slaps the back of the droid hard enough to tip it over but not enough to topple it. " Good job!" and walks away to the sounds of what would be swearing in binary.

Brosck walks up to Kal looking at him with a toothy smile, "Let's go and take down this pitiful base with much greatness. "
Dec 23, 2015 6:41 pm
After getting smacked by the Klatoonian G5 stabilizers went into overdrive to keep the droid up right.

""%%#$# VERT ^$%u*@* hhst %#$", hissed the droid as he spun around and extended his 3 leg for additional stability.
He just knew that he should have kept his distance.

An internal display within G5 chassis started to compile the overall dimensions of Brosck, and a quick calculation showed that the droid needed to keep him at least 1.75m away from him at all times. This was noted in the droids daily log and emphasized within his safety programming along with the addendum if that didn't work, just make sure he wasn't the closest one too him.
Dec 26, 2015 4:29 pm
You move quickly, and quietly through the base, pausing at the entrance into the main generators on the right. The listening post, so far, is oddly, almost ominously silent. Your footsteps echo softly throughout the hallways. The door is locked, but your cylinder, lifted off of the officer back in the garage, enables you to key G5 in. The generator room is rugged with a couple large generators on it and a packed earthen floor. Machinery and additional consoles are the bare minimum to enable the generators to function for the complex.

With a beep and a whistle, G5 seems perfectly happy based on the plan and the remaining four of you move deeper into the base slipping past the corridor to the mess hall (the door to the mess hall is shut, so there's not a significant risk of being discovered). Pausing just outside the communications room to peer around the corner, you spot the hatch that leads to your next destination. Next to it are four guards in Imperial uniforms. Perhaps the occupants of the base have been alerted somehow to your presence? Or perhaps the commander of the base, Lieutenant Sarev, is just a bit on the paranoid side. Either way, you'll need to get past these guards to reach the launch pad where you can disable the shuttle to prevent anyone's escape.
Dec 26, 2015 7:20 pm
After the doors to the Generator Room close, G5 locks the doors from the inside and maneuvers further within the room to take stock of equipment and interface points. Once the scomp link port is found G5 plugs in and begins to passively interface with console to determine what the overall power-grid status is, and what the base overall status is.

G5 sends a signal to the group stating that he is accessing the power grid momentarily.......

OOC
- plug in and determine actual access to the power systems of the base.

OOC: GM -- adding 2 difficulty dice for an task to plug in and login... this will not provide you with detailed levels of access, but get you in the proverbial front door. 1 success, 2 advantage - you're in. How do you want to spend the advantage?

G5 plugs into the outlet and easily manages to login using any one of a dozen of Imperial credentials he's acquired over the years -- or a clever algorithm or two. It's astonishing, really, how many Imperial bases have the most trivial passwords for getting into the network. Perhaps humans just can't remember things.

G5 notifies the teams of his success getting into the system.

"Ditty ditty da tipta dooo" states the droid as one of his secondary processors finished a review of the base plans now in his memory banks.

"teek ta dissss getaa donk pa" with a touch of excitement as G5 relayed additional information about the access hatch to the landing pad that should allow Team 2 to avoid any confrontation at the main entrance.

Dec 29, 2015 4:37 pm
After seeing the guards protecting the exit to the landing pad I sigh heavily, "A uniform would've been helpful. We need to do this swiftly, quietly and without raising the alarm. Once the shuttle is down, those keen to smash and shoot can have their way with the base occupants."
Dec 29, 2015 5:22 pm
At first hearing Kael's comments Brosck will let out a disappointing sigh, but then he hears "smash and shoot" and "have thier way" and he perks up with a big toothy grin.

" Sounds like a plan. " looks at Kal "I bet I get more trophies with my fist than you with your pea-shooter. ". He chuckles and focuses on the landing area.

The information started to pour in, G5 evaluated probabilities, distance, likely hood of unforeseen encounters and needs of the group. Imperial networks were always tricky when mucking about in them, but usually with a little patience and polite nudging G5 could usually get what he was after.

Quarters identified, and they are empty.

"Hzzz data kandi ta bedee bedee", notified G5 to the group
Jan 2, 2016 6:39 pm
"I'm going to try and get myself and Kal uniforms from the Lieutenant's quarters. Brosck, hold steady and give us three minutes. If we're not back, quietly get through that hatch - I know quiet doesn't seem like a good approach, but if you get through without being seen the battle that will follow will be even more epic than if you try and smash through those four guards. Once you're on the landing platform, you'll be faced with your biggest challenge yet. You'll need to tear apart the shuttle, with your hands. Remove anything electronic, if you can get into the cockpit savage it. The imperials will try to interrupt you - well, you know what to do. Destroying the shuttle will probably draw them all towards you.

If we do get back in three minutes, we'll pretend to be escorting you to the shuttle bay for transport off world. Once we get Moro onto the landing pad, you can do whatever you like with the guards."

At that, I turn and head towards the target room, hoping Kal is following along with me.

Kael and Kal get to the officers quarters without any problems by circling back around the way they came and heading west towards the armory around where they dropped off G5 in the generator room. Security cylinder in hand, Kael attempts to open the door to the quarters and is denied. It would appear that G5's intrusion into the surveillance system for the room accidentally triggered a lockdown on the room.

Hacking the door will be a hard action (3 purple). If you get someone to do it remotely, it'll include a setback die.
Jan 5, 2016 2:29 pm
"Kal, any good at this sort of thing?" I nod to the locked door, before reaching out to G5, "Looks like the door is locked. Might be difficult to do remotely, but unless Kal's any good at this kind of thing we're going to need you to try."

Kael and Kal hear the sounds of locks being undone and a door opens -- but it's not the door in front of them. That door appears to be as locked as ever -- and another swipe of the code cylinder to get in leaves them out in the proverbial cold. Turning to look at each other, they notice the opened door is behind them -- into the armory where a handful of suits of spare stormtrooper armor are stowed in plain sight.

G5 is fairly confident he got something open -- but, it's really not clear if he managed to provide entry into the officer's quarters. A quick check of the video feed and the room remains empty of Kal and Kael and the door continues to look firmly shut.
Jan 8, 2016 12:50 pm
Kal looks at Kael, then shrugs his shoulders before heading into the armory to start changing into the stormtrooper armor.
Jan 9, 2016 11:37 am
"G5, good work. Not the room we were looking for, but a serviceable situation." I report to the droid before stepping into the armory and get to work hastily donning a suit of storm trooper armor. Once disguised, we'll head back towards the others, helmet in hand so that Brosck recognizes me.
Jan 9, 2016 3:57 pm
Kael and Kal are able to easily get into their stormtrooper armor and return back to the rest of the crew without incident. Brosck and Moro do a quick double take when they spot a pair of stormtroopers walking casually towards them without their helmets before realizing it is their friends.

Once back with the others I smile, and put the helmet on, "Let's get the show on the road. We are escorting you to the landing pad. Keep the story simple. G5, keep a listen on - you might need to get creative with the network if the guards check credentials or something. Just keep a sensor out for us. Kal, take up the rear and make light your guarding them and very serious about it. As we don't have restraints, it would help if you kept your hands behind your back as if bound." I wink at Brosck and, once we're ready, start down the hallway towards the guards.
Jan 11, 2016 2:35 pm
Kal gives a mock salute, "Aye aye sir." He then stands up straighter doing his best to imitate a stormtrooper.
Jan 11, 2016 3:36 pm
Brosck listen's and sighs. He then tries to put his arms behind his back but has trouble since they are so big. Seeing his struggles, Kal walks over and helps brings the arms together anf Brosck then clasps his hands together.

"We could just run in there and just battle. " he says to Kal as a form of a thank you, and turns to get ready for the deception.

Hearing the responses from the other members of the team, created a sense of fulfillment. The lock down would have required additional 2 persons to override the lock-out and open the offices quarters, something he did not want to do. As for now it would not be noticed until the next maintenance cycle which wasn't scheduled for another several hours.

Spinning thru the various processes G5 chattered on to the other members "gee dunk data dat dat dible be do", as a reminder that all was quiet as far as base personnel.

Moro continues to look down, passive, but takes one quick look up to count the guards, and see if he can spot a control console or exposed electronics for the shuttle. Once the more aggressive members of his party decide to break the charade, he'll run straight at that to try to disable what looks best.
Jan 15, 2016 9:37 pm
The two guards look to object, but somehow Kael manages to convey a combination of competence and newbie-incompetence that lowers their guard and they shrug and pass through the hatch towards the shuttle. You find yourselves in a small corridor that then leads out (through another hatch) onto the landing pad.

The landing pad is, apparently, a large platform cut into the mountainside. inside the chamber sits a slightly battered-looking Lambda-class shuttle, surrounded by heavy crates. The vessel looks like it is currently offline, and there are no other guards on the launch pad. You recall that your orders are to disable the shuttle to prevent the command staff -- or anyone else -- leaving the base when you take control of it.
Jan 16, 2016 4:29 pm
Once we are all isolated in the open area of the platform, I speak up. "Alright, that's enough of this. To the shuttle." I prod Moro in the back and urge him forward, quickening the pace to overtake the two guards. Once near the guards, I step up beside the one, and press my blaster to his back, "We're I you, I'd be dropping my weapon and keeping real quiet if I didn't want the unrestrained klantoonian to make a drum out of my skull." As I do this, I hope the others are observant enough to notice that the charade has ended, and that we're doing this quickly and quietly.
Jan 16, 2016 5:42 pm
Moro quickly dashes forward, pulling out his blaster. He runs towards the engine, looking for what would be the best place to let loose to disable it.

What can I roll to figure out a weakness in the shuttle? Namely something to disable the engines and the communications.

The Imperial soldiers (dubbed: Wampa and Tauntaun -- Wampa has Kael's gun in his back) waver for a moment and then decide to act. Wampa spins and attempts to knock Kael's blaster out of his hand and Tauntaun draws his weapon and backs away from Moro and Brosck to open up the range so he can open fire.

Wampa's attempt to disarm Kael fails miserably -- as Kael sees the attempt coming and cleverly moves his gun out of the way. However, he either moves with exceptional grace or is miserably lucky with how he's overcompensated on his effort -- and as a result gyrates in a way that makes it most difficult to land a hit...

OOC:

* Initiative is: all players, then NPCs.
* Wampa has Ranged Defense 1 for one round.

"G5! Help me out here!" request the Mon Calamarian.

Flipping thru a database filled with various ship specifications and drawings only took a moment for G5 to isolate a Lambda Class Shuttle Mechanical and Electrical Schematics.

"Mezzt tee dzz whirrrr begonk..." the droid stated to Moro, reminding him that the shuttle is an independent system when it came to slicing, but the schematics would help quickly access the features that he was trying to access.

Moro disappears inside the shuttle and hooks into the shuttle's computer. G5's beeps and whistles prod the Mon Calamari along the path of logging into the shuttle's main computer and working to disable it's systems. Some of the non critical ones go down easily: fire suppression, life support (!), etc. Moro's webbed fingers cascade along the keyboard steadily turning the shuttle into a big white statue.

Kal's blaster carbine slams into Tauntaun who falls backward, his own carbine skittering across the hangar while Brosck's fist comes out of no where and hits Wampa like a rancor who has been on a diet. Brosck accompanies this stellar hit with a powerful bellow, and Wampa collapses in a heap to the ground.

The moment pauses -- and you look at each other. G5 -- you notice a request for reinforcements to investigate a disturbance in the hangar scroll across the high profile traffic feed. It appears you'll have company soon.

OOC: Moro succeeds on his roll, but will need another round to complete his disabling of the shuttle. We'll stay in 'round time' to help you guys choose actions/set up how you see fit.

"Gizzz jerp tada gink" chirps G5 as he monitors base communications. the teams actions have garnered some additional attention from the Imperials.

"Thzzpzp bibi ttthhZZZpzPt" he asks Moro as G5 just doesn't understand why organics are so... what do they call it...gung ho.
He notifies them that additional troops maybe on there way and that they need to disable the shuttle.

"Beep bep beded bep", continues G5 as he explains how he might be able to slow the ascent of the lift long enough for the team dispose of the bodies and retreat down the access chute before the new troopers are on the scene.

As you all get into position there's a helpful ding out of the turbo lift -- the doors open about half a fast as usual and there's some cheesy music playing over the speakers that has the troopers within a little distracted. It's hard to see into the lift to see how many troopers are there, but it does seem like there are several.
OOC:
Free round to act for you all. If you choose to shoot into the opening lift, add a setback die since the partially open doors provide cover.

The twin laser cannons swivel in their gimbals and target the turbolift. Just as the doors finish opening Moro pours weapons fire from the cannons into the lift leaving the insides a smoking ruin -- along with the troopers within -- as well as damaging the lift beyond immediate repair. Moro suffers 2 strain due to the stress of switching tasks and firing cannons of a Lambda shuttle for the first time without any training under a time constraint.

When the smoke clears, no Imperials are moving. G5 notices that the turbolift shaft is reporting a major malfunction.

Peering of the shuttle Brosck watches was Kal and Kael both miss with their blasters.

"I better show them how it is really don..." and before he can finish his sentence the turbolift erupts in laser fire stopping Brosck in his tracks. The troopers inside... Dead and smoking. Brosck turns to where the bolts came from to see a waving Calamarian smiling and giving him the thumbs up from the cockpit of the shuttle.

"Awwwkk......#%#$$%#%$@$$" comes out of the droids VOX processors as he watches the events unfold via the security monitor. He springs open like a swiss army knife, appendages failing about and spins around in place as he argues with himself as to why organics make no sense to him. All the while the team lays waste to the turbolift shaft and its contents.

The light blinking at the panel snapped G5 out of the tantrum, as he rolled back up to the interface. Turbolift AH-001 was showing a malfunction warning light on its control board.

"Bzz Dooda" squelched the droid, the binary equivalent of "No Shit" in basic.

G5 quickly extended a manipulator arm forward and brought to rest on top of his "eye" and just shook his dome from side to side. Then reclaiming the arm, the droid just tapped his dome on the panel with a slow soft metallic thud several times.

Recognizing the new danger, G5 starts cycling thru the security feeds to see what the base inhabitants might be doing, and works to disable the warning light from any terminal that might see the signal remotely.

Feb 2, 2016 4:35 am
G5 is able to suspend the warning light from blinking more than a time or two in the control center of the base. The technician who was about to dig in and get more details swears about the "shoddy work" of whomever put this place together on the sly. But alas, none of you witness it.
Feb 2, 2016 1:28 pm
"Aye, repelling back into the base seems the best idea. Can someone see if its likely that the damaged lift will suddenly drop to the bottom of the shaft, don't want it crushing us by surprise on our way down. Then, we'll need to find a way through the hulk of useless metal." Adding difficulty to above. Doing it this way since I'm about to hop on a plane. Kael - you have an advantage to spend.
Casting about looking for some climbing supplies, you largely find out that the base is ill-equipped to help you out. There are bits of cable -- and there's the large refueling cable that's used to run the shuttle on base systems, but it's unwieldy and doesn't look like a very good solution. However, a large grate makes itself known -- and upon peering in, it looks like some form of crawlway or maintenance shaft that will be a tight fit for Brosck, but... he should be able to make it. Rungs line the side of the shaft -- they look quite a bit more handy than rope.

After a bit of climbing you each manage to make it through the maintenance tunnels to come out at hatch several meters to the east of the door to the hangar where the group of four imperial troopers once stood guard. Opening the hatch is a mite bit noisy, but there doesn't seem to be anyone paying attention as you exit the hatch -- Brosck with specific alacrity and more than a little nervous sweat.

With the shuttle -- and the lift -- and several troopers -- disabled, your mission is now to take command of the base by taking control of the command center. Recall if you will, your map:

Feb 6, 2016 1:51 pm
"My thoughts exactly. Then, once we secure the base and trigger every alarm in the place, we'l be in the command centre which looks like it might be good for staging a showdown. Not that I'm interested in a showdown.""
Feb 6, 2016 2:11 pm
Moro and Kael hear heavy breathing from the crawlspace and they look over to see Brosck frantically crawling his way out.

"GOT ... To ... Get... Out... I ... Cant... Breath!" with the last word he claws his way out of the crawl space. Breathing deep breaths. Bent over, one hand holding a wall. His breath almost weezing.

The two watch as he whipes the sweat from his brow. Slowly his breathing gets back to normal. Then he takes one deep breath and lets it out slowly. Then when he is all level he turns around and faces the 2.

"What?" he says to his staring comrads like nothing had happen. Then he asks "so Whats the plan. I have a big need to thrash something."

The droid was scrambling right as his catcher was getting open in the flat of the end zone. The crowd was going wild as was G5 when he realized that his team mates were finally on the move again. G5 searched the security grid for images of the Command Center to see what the team might be up against.

Moro runs into some road blocks pulling up the information on hand -- he does manage to get a birthdate and pass it along to G5 in their networked run through the system, but the droids he tries to get to move the patrol into the command center get a mixed signal and start heading to the command center -- without the stormtroopers in tow.

Several minutes later -- among assurances from Moro and G5, Kael and Moro and Brosck see a small procession of three droids wander by with a chipper "good day". They are presumably on their way from the mess hall and head down the long corridor to the command center. Two of them are pushing carts along -- one laden with drinks, the other with various flavored Imperial Protein Packs and some candles next to a covered dome -- this must be the surprise the droids have pulled together.

You're too far away to hear the exchange the droids have with the troopers at the door. There is some back and forthing-however, as the troopers gesture at the carts and the droids wave their arms around in a friendly manner. Eventually the troopers shrug and seem to give up -- opening the door and passing the droids in. You believe you can hear the sound of a party horn as the droids swing into a rendition of "Happy Birthday." One of the three troopers follows the droids in and the door shuts behind him, cutting off the sound -- and the scene.
Feb 25, 2016 4:19 am
I nod to Brosck, "Looks like that's your cue. Think you can take them out before the door opens again?"
Feb 27, 2016 9:36 pm
I hold up a hand, "Wait a moment." realizing that I'm still wearing the trooper armour, I smile and plug the helmet on my head, "Get as close as you can without being seen, I'll try and get one, maybe both of them, to head this way. If you're quick, you can ambush them, get the drop on em' before they even see you."

I turn and jog urgently around the corner and towards the guards. When I get near them I stop and start talking fast, "You gotta help. Blaster fire in the hanger. Killed a couple guards and they are bunkering down. We need to go now"

The two troopers pause for a moment -- and seem nearly ready to stand their ground -- but after a moment's hesitation -- they start double-timing it towards Kael and down the corridor towards him, Moro and Brosck. Kael hears them report in to their colleague in the command center as they come down the corridor.
OOC:
Kael - how do you want to spend your advantage? Brosck and Moro? Can I get an average stealth roll (PP) with a boost die for the distracted nature of the troopers?

Since you were going for Stealth KJ -- using advantage to buy you that much result probably isn't a good fit for the role/situation.
As the stormtroopers head towards Kael and they begin to hut-hut-hut like good little troopers, one of them notices the large Klatooinian (with claustrophobia) trying to squeeze himself behind a wall support and look like part of the scenary. "Hey! There's one now! It looks like they got out!" Blasters come up immediately.

Kael's shot goes wide and hits one of the support pillars not far from Brosck, allowing him to maintain the ruse of a stormtrooper (especially with the attendant aim) quite successfully. Brosck closes into engage one off the troops and begins to pummel him with his fists. Surprisingly, they are quite effective despite the pristine white armor that the trooper wears -- and while Brosck works him over, he somehow manages to remain standing for a few moments be for Brosck's final back-handed slap careens him into the wall where he stops moving. The last bit of finesse takes a little more effort than Brosck is used to, and he takes 1 strain as a result.
OOC:
I read that Brosck lands a hit for 9 damage (4 brawn + 3 success + 1 Feral attack + 1 knuckles) with 1 rank of pierce for an effective 10 damage total against full soak.

Watching the ensuing fight over the monitors, G5 keeps tabs on the inhabitants of the Imperial Base and those in Command and Control. The droid activates some music sound tracks and pipes them in to Command and Control. Hopefully the Imperials will join in and sing along....

OOC
To mask the sound of combat in the hallway from Command and Control
- play happy birthday and party music loud in Command and Control
- with the door closed and the music playing with staff singing, should be adequate to mask the noise.
Mar 23, 2016 5:58 pm
G5 is treated to a rare sense of total confusion in an Imperial base through the monitors to the command room. There's a genuine sense of the absurd -- along with the heady tension of upright Imperials uncertain of how to handle this humanitarian gesture from droids under the thrall of a devious R2 unit (unbeknownst to them of course). Command discipline manages to hold together for the first bit as the officer begins asking what's up and starts to order the droids and the party supplies out of the room. Then the music hits and everyone looks at everyone else confused. Some of the more junior techs start singing along... and it looks set to burst into pandemonium in the command room at any moment.

Elsewhere in the base, G5 is able to spot another trio of Stormtroopers making the around. These have just walked past the mess hall and are soon to pass his own hideaway in the generator room -- presumably back down to the long corridor in which his friends are blasting away. The generators provide a low level hum that may mask some of the blaster fire, but they're bound to hear something soon.

Moro's attack is at close range (resulting in 2 success, 2 advantage) and his light blaster puts a nice black mark into the trooper's armor. He grunts with the hit -- which clearly does some damage and penetrates his armor a bit, but his posture suggests he's planning on getting another shot off soon.

Brosck's hands grab the barrel of the blaster rilfe and yank. Hard. The trooper is a little taken aback at this approach -- he's never had someone grab the barrel of his gun before -- and he tries to hold onto the gun so that he can get a few more good shots into this mountain of an alien that likes to hit things. He does manage to keep hold -- but not well enough to offset Brosck's strength -- and he falls to the ground, prone, before the Klatooinian. His rifle is now in the hands of a very fussy Brosck.

Moro's light blaster from short range tickles the prone storm trooper, barely scoring through his armor. With a grunt, the trooper stands up, facing Brosck and draws a vibroknife, waving it back and forth before him to ward off the hulking alien. He doesn't quite realize that Kael isn't on his side so he's hoping that his backup can help put a bullet or two into the the beast before it gets another chance to strike. "Blast him!" he commands.

The security monitor followed the wandering patrol just outside the generator room where G5 has set-up camp. Peering back at the door he visually checks the the door status. Good he thought to himself the door is still locked from the inside. Last thing he needs are some uninvited guests.

"Beeee der Beee der Bee der" squealed G5 in to the teams comm channel, as he relayed the arrival of reinforcements coming around the corner any moment now.

Quickly G5 scrambles to jam all Internal Imperial frequencies used by the base. Well if they did't know they were here, the Imperials would know any moment now.

...and I'm back and well-skied.
Each of you hear from G5 on your comms. Through a series of whistles and toots you learn of the impending doom of more stormtroopers "coming around the corner". While G5 warns you, he does manage to stretch his virtual tentacles into the net work of the base further -- shutting down communications to the command center. The fast work overheats his backup parallel processor on the I/O port he's got plugged into the base and he takes a bit of strain from the effort.
OOC:
G5 -- I'm using the w/destiny one since you flipped a destiny point. Please take one strain.

The trooper does give a quick shout, but the pain quickly overwhelms him and he falls to the ground, unconscious. Kael, Brosck and Moro are left in the middle of that long corridor. Kael and Brosck are holding standard-issue stormtrooper rifles and Moro has his pea-shooter out.

You have a handful of seconds before a small squad of stormtroopers come around the corner. What do you do?
Apr 11, 2016 11:43 am
Still holding the unconscious troopers arm Brosck turns around and smiles atbgis group.

"I told you they had no chances against Brosck!" he announces and with whip of his arm he tosses the limp body aside.

"We should take on the whole Empire!"
Apr 11, 2016 3:59 pm
"Turn around and carry on the massacre, Brosck.", I say as I kneel down and line up a shot down the corridor with my rifle. At the first sign of a stormtrooper I'll open fire.
Apr 11, 2016 4:12 pm
Moro looks around, a bit frantic at the news. "G5! There's got to be another path. We can't fight off every stormtrooper here!"
Apr 12, 2016 12:45 am
Keleth says:
Moro looks around, a bit frantic at the news. "G5! There's got to be another path. We can't fight off every stormtrooper here!"
The follow up retort from G5 was a a mixture of surprise, anger, and something equivalent to a droid saying...I told you so...all in a gibberish of hi pitched squeals, whistles, and other noises that could only come from a droid.

Scrambling thru the base's protocols, with the fervor of wild metallic rancor, G5 isolates the subroutines for the automated waxing agent dispersal program for the section of the hallway that the troopers are in.

He sets the nozzle discharge pressure for extra high and summons the cleaning droids, all the while muttering to himself.

OOC
-activate subroutine to coat the floor area in-front of, and in-back of the patrol with a heavy coating of floor wax.
---Some one keeps those Imperial Black floors shiny
---The intent is to have the troopers lose there balance and slip trip and fall to the floor as the get coated with floor wax
---The cleaner droids come to "polish the floor" and if the troopers are there they get polished too
- Squawk and squeal at the incomprehensible gibberish to the team members

G5 leans in to the screen as he finishes accessing the subroutine...with a slow series of chirps he extends one of his small manipulator arms out and hovers over a big shiny red button..."DAWANKA DAh ditt Yonk", exclaimed the little droid.

With a gleefull squeal, G5, the Auto Wax System, and the team cleaning droids engage the Storm Trooper Patrol within the now coated section of the hallway...

OOC
-I picture this in slow motion to the musical theme song of the original Bad News Bears, as the eloquent dance of trooper wax and droid ensues in most comic fashion

A patrol of stormtroopers -- three of them -- comes around the corner at a good clip. They've heard the blaster fire and the comms system is misbehaving, so they're really quite concerned. What they don't notice is the automated routines being activated and the small mouse droid-like polishing droids zipping about.

It's a comic display that makes the day a little more surreal -- making some of you, if not each of you, wonder where the heck the Rebellion picked up G5, anyway -- the first trooper of the squad goes down, having stepped on one of the polishing bots. It squeals and zooms out of the way, tripping him and causing the two behind him to go down in a pile of white armor and clattering rifles.

After a bit of work, the three troopers manage to stand up and snap to attention at Kael. "Yes Sergeant!" They don't even cast their eyes down the corridor and see the hastily stowed stormtroopers or the obvious aliens high-tailing it for the command center, such is the power of Kael's statement and the suit of armor he apparently hijacked from someone of some rank within the base.

Kael and the troopers get situated and head into the garage -- where the droid has been quietly tidying things up -- but evidence of blaster shots remain visible.
OOC:
Moving out of round-based time
Brosck and Moro make it down to the command center door. It is shut ahead of them. They think they can hear the occasional party horn.

Not trying to be stealthy, Brosck clomps his way down the hall towards the destination. Coming up to the door he waits for Moro to catch up. Seeing him holding the blaster rifle he lets out a kight hearted snort.

"So you think we should go in there and ruin the party?" he chuckles as he lifts his fist and ignites his knuckles.
Apr 20, 2016 3:03 pm
"Looks like they're not here..." I mumble, then turn to the troopers in my company, "I'll see if that droid has any information, it looks like it's been cleaning up. The rest of you should search the area to ensure that the intruders aren't waiting in ambush." With a firm nod, I turn and head for the droid.

Should I reach it without interference from my 'companions', and remain relatively isolated, I kneel down and say quietly "My fish-man friend removed your restraining bolt not long ago. These numbskulls with me will surely put that restraining bolt back in if they find out it's been removed, and they'll put a blaster bolt in my head if they find out I'm not one of them. Is there anyway you, and maybe G5 together, can make the stuff in the garage malfunction... maybe explode?"
Apr 20, 2016 11:53 pm

G5 contemplates the meat bag comment, that restraining bolt must of done some damage to the droids main cpu, as they are truely walking bags of water....

He points for emphasis, "This one was unable to give chase or report this because this one's orders are precise about cleaning up the bay prior to reporting status. The troopers look at 2B and nod, forming up and heading out of the garage, leaving Kael with the rusty clanker.

Brosck and Moro reach the door to the command center and look at one another. They are able to hear strains of a party -- perhaps the occasional party favor. It sounds like the folks within are thoroughly distracted. Moro looks at Brosck and shrugs -- never particularly skilled with a weapon, he's uncertain that a frontal assault is the best plan.
Apr 25, 2016 2:59 am
Suddenly, Moro looks up at Brosck. He radio's G5. "Can you help me find a nearby environmental control panel? Maybe between us both, we can suck the air out of the command center, or introduce a gas to knock them out."
Apr 25, 2016 1:22 pm
Walking ahead of Moro he hears him on the intercom talking to G5 of a less glorious way to dispose of the Stormtroopers.

As more info came in from Moro, G5 starts to mumbling back as he slides back and spins in a circle with a sudden pause before a quick pop and hiss of exposing all his tools and equipment like a swiss army knife. "ZZZzppthht ggete GGZxxthp", he exclaimed his displeasure of the organics not coming prepared..."Hggsfs, Hj Havveft hhbHYg".. as G5 clamored on about how he was.

OOC:
Taking over Kael until Candi returns.
As the troopers leave the garage and move out into the wilderness, Kael follows them -- looking like he's supporting their actions. Getting to the control panel, he pauses -- waiting for the troopers to get a ways away. Once they reach a sufficient distance, he works the controls to close the garage bay doors. They rumble quietly and are slow to close, but the troopers have disappeared around the side checking a possible path -- the very path that Kael and the others used to come in to the base. By the time they realize what is afoot, it is too late and the doors thud shut loudly. Lacking a better path forward, Kael blasts the controls to keep them out.

"I think I've taken care of the troopers for now -- but I bet there's a back door." he states over the comms.

Moro and G5 manage to find the environmental controls. There are safeguards that would prevent the CO2 scrubbers from either going offline, or redirecting their output back into the base. It appears, however, with some clever hacking it could be done. You are not certain if any efforts to "gas" the command room will work on the stormtrooper within, however.. so Brosck may yet have a chance to pummel someone... again.
OOC:
in order to override the environmental controls, let's call that a Hard action. There's multiple redundancies to try and prevent this from happening -- and all kinds of alerts and alarms that will be difficult to work around -- so add 2 SB dice to the roll please.
Apr 29, 2016 2:35 pm
Patiently Brosck's waits for the the "gassing" to begin. His patience turns to annoyance.

"What are we waiting for?? For them to die of old age?? Enough of this! We came to take over this base! Let us take it over now! " with that Brosck turns towards the room while igniting his knuckles. "I hate waiting!"
OOC:
Brosck's idea is pretty much knocking on the door and punching the first guy that answers. Sorry I'm playing in character.

"Brosk! Please just give me a second to try. I do believe I will need your fists shortly, as I doubt this will work completely," Moro says as he starts working the controls.

Moro works feverishly at the console, his webbed fingers dancing through subroutines and dodging some of the controls and safeguards put in place by the contractors who built this base. Brosck glares somewhat furiously at his colleague, but manages to wait just long enough for Moro to cry in triumph with one last push of a button.

Immediately, the CO2 scrubbers start redirecting their output into the command center -- raising the level of CO2 to toxic levels abruptly. After what seems, to Brosck, like ever, Moro taps at the controls to return the atmosphere within to normal. Finally, the door opens wide. There are some confused droids looking around and more than a few Imperials with cake messily adorning their uniforms as they were overcome and knocked unconcious by the atmosphere within.

The final stormtrooper sits, slumped, against the inner corridor.
May 2, 2016 3:02 pm
Opening the door with his fists clench, Brosck runs into the room with a battle cry only to get to the middle of the room and see all the bodies. All the bodies laying on the ground, on the couch, or in a seat. All the bodies... Sleeping. His face is stunned and then an expression of anger forms.

"THIS... DOES... NOT... COUNT!!!!" he yells as he kicks the slumped over trooper at corridor. He is breathing hard he turns to Moro and then turns around again to not show he is pouting.

This is not fair, how can I prove myself if this is the way they battle??? he thinks to himself despairingly. He finally comes to the acceptance of what happened and pushes over another trooper sitting face first into a plate with cake on it and sits down. He is drumming his fingers while looking around then glancing occasionally at the leftover cake on the table. Then looks around again and then finally swipes his finger on the frosting and puts it into his mouth and tastes it.

Brosck's smile retuns to his face again.

I hurry down the hall towards the control room, blaster rifle slung over my shoulder and storm trooper helmet in hand - I figure, with Brosck in the place looking for stormtroopers to punch, it's more dangerous to run around with the helmet on than with it off.

With startled amazement G5 watches Moro's scramble to input data that scrolls across the screen... G5 thinks to himself as he monitors the attempt, "good, do not forg... yes, no no no you cant, you should have... oh my.. my processor's did not anticipate , I see ye i see ...hmmmm......not bad for an organic.

The droid catalogs the slicing techniques used by Moro for future analysis as he contemplates how the Mon Calamorian was able to succeeded where he had failed, then G5 catches a glimpse of the Klatoonian's tantrum and was amused at how easily his temperament was swayed by cake....note to self as G5's secondary processors started to download various recipes for Cake under the new folder heading "Dog Treats".
May 3, 2016 5:15 pm
Kael makes his way in from the garage as Moro wanders in slowly after Brosck. The Klatooinian, for his part, has decided that as long as he's not going to have something to punch, he may as well eat some cake. He has not been discerning when it comes to sourcing cake -- and many of the staff no longer have a plate near them as he cleans them and stacks them casually, balanced on the stormtrooper's head.
OOC:
Could I get a 2P perception roll from everyone? Kael can have a boost.

Moro and Brosck continue to poke around the command center. Moro finding the systems and electronics worthy of his attention -- occasionally wiping some frosting off of some display panel or shifting some unconscious Imperial out of the way. Brosck, for his part, continues to overindulge in the cake, distracted by the baked goodiness.

G5 and Kael, however, remember that there three stormtroopers outside the base likely looking for a way to get back in or.. failing that a way to contact someone outside of the base -- or off-planet -- that something is amiss.
May 4, 2016 12:31 pm
"Good plan has gone bad folks, we've got three troopers alive and outside the walls of the base... Hopefully they're trying to get back in, but they might be trying to get word out that the base is compromised. Moro, G5, can either of you use any fancy base-tech to search the area, or, at least, identify the point of entry they might take?" I say over the comm as the consequences of my previous 'ploy' dawn on me.
May 4, 2016 1:19 pm
"Blast! Are they the same troopers you led astray? Can you call them back in, saying you found the rebels? Our big friend here could punch them." Moro thinks for a moment. "Do either of you know if Imperial bases have local emergency recalls? Something that we could broadcast to call them back, ASAP, without broadcasting too far? Can you take a look through the system G5?"
May 4, 2016 3:45 pm
Hearing Moro's idea Brosk turns around. Corner of his mouth has bits of frosting stuck to it.

"Finally an idea that doesn't invole sneaking around. I Like this IDEA!" he announces.
May 4, 2016 4:54 pm
G5 dome shutters as he contemplates the new variables buzzing around in his memory banks. Details Details Details... a droid's work is never done. With that the droid searches the base and its grounds using the various cameras and sensors the used to monitor security.

The troopers are more than likely aware that something is amiss since experiencing the waxing incident, being duped by one of their one, and being locked out of the garage access.

G5 evaluates the various floor plans for access points and takes a head count of all personnel and droids present on the base...conscious, or unconscious...activated or deactivated....
OOC:

In order of priority
-What is the current activity external to the base?
-What is the current activity internal to the base?
-What is the headcount or roster for the base?
-What is the equipment manifest for the base?

Computers - Information Retrival

4 Success, 1 Advantage, 1 Triumph, 4 Threat

Total: 4 Success, 3 Threat, 1 Triumph

OOC:
This information is readily available to G5 -- but the speed at which he can get it will depend on a skill roll. Let's do a computers check against three purple (representing the scope of data to be retrieved).
May 5, 2016 4:06 am
G5 is quickly able to find the group of three stormtroopers. They appear to be in a full retreat from the landing pad area where Kal has stood guard with the shuttle. It appears he's figured out how to use the weapons to scare them off and they are not arguing with him.

Rather than heading towards the communication array, they work their way up the hillside to an external access vent. It's part of the air system and they're able to work their way in with their blasters quite effectively. G5 considers for a few milliseconds and then begins to work the ventilation system to his advantage. Strong gusts of air buffet the stormtroopers as they reach an intersection and they proceed down the easier path which, unfortunately, leads them right into the flimsy covering of the vent for the garbage compactor where they fall into a really, particularly glorious smell and mess.

Tittering to himself, G5 ensures that the external access hatch of the compactor is fully locked down.

This task in hand, G5 scans the remainder of the base. Outside of the unconscious control staff and the confused birthday droids, there are no other beings in the base. It appears to the R2 unit that the base is now under their complete control.
May 5, 2016 12:38 pm
Upon hearing that the last troopers are now locked down Brosck is sadden that he was not able to thrash them about. However he did notice, in the corner of his eye, one... Last.. Piece... Of cake.

Being Brosck he stomps over and pushes the troopers that in his way. He gets to his goal and then grabs the cake with his hand and scarfs it down!

He turns around and bellows "AAAAAAH THE SPOILS OF BATTLE!!! This is mission will be remembered! " with that we smiles at the rest of the group as he smashes the plate to the ground.
May 5, 2016 3:15 pm
G5 unplugs from his current access point and spins around while extending out his third leg as he motors on down to the command center. Once there he should have a better time accessing, and controlling the various systems that the base has to offer.

The droid strolls thru the base corridors towards his new destination. Command and Control. One could almost swear, if they were actually listening, that the droid was quite proud of himself based on the soft chirps and whistles come forth from its VOX. One could only be described as... humming.
May 5, 2016 3:22 pm
I sit down in the nearest chair and grab a a piece of half-eaten cake off the floor at my feet. Shoving it in my face I sigh heavily before speaking over our comms, "Well, that was an adventure. For providing cake, I think G5 is our most-valuable droid. If anyone gets a promotion from this, I vote for the animate tin-can."

OOC:
Well all, in the normal course of events I'd award another bunch o' XP. 10 bein' what the little book here recommends.

Beyond that I think we've wrapped this little adventure up. I'll keep the game open for another week or so, then archive it unless folks want it to stick around longer for some reason.
May 5, 2016 8:53 pm
OOC:
I'm going to rework the archive system (probably not in time for this game), so it keeps people in the games, so they can reaccess forums later if they want. It'll be complex, but I'll figure out something.

OOC:
The forum won't be deleted, though you won't have access to it when the game retires. I am working on creating a mean of printing it, though it's not in place yet. If you have software to print/edit PDFs (there are free ones), you can print it page by page right now. I plan on creating a means so you can print it all as one doc and don't need to assemble it, and without the header/footer/graphics.

I'm prepared to retire the game. Anyone need it open?
