It's 1982 and it's spring break, the three of you have been invited along by a fellow student to stay at their Aunt's place for a short cheap vacation which is really all most college students can afford. Since they were sick they opted to stay in the dorms while the rest of you take one for the team and brave the open highways looking for cool nights at the lake and much needed alcohol if you' happen to find some'. I don't want to lose your love plays on the radio as you see the exit sign.
OOC:
The scnene.
You've come off the interstate and have been heading towards the small town of Sanctuary some 10 miles away.

After a small navigation hiccup, the map takes you down a small grassy road, still covered in a thin layer of early spring frost, leading into the forest and toward Aunt Mary's house by the lake. You can't help but notice several cars, seemingly abandoned by the side of the road.

As vegetation gets thicker you worry momemtarily that perhaps you took a wrong turn, but then the trees suddenly part to reaveal a clearing, the smells of fresh water, and the sounds of birds in the sky.

Aunt Mary's house stands before you, a large wooden building with a covered porch. It looks in m,uch worse condition than you were led to believe, with windows shattered and roof tiles lying about. With ample space to part you drive up and get out to investigate or at least probably use the bathroom after a long trip.

After getting out of the car and calling out to her or going up on the porch and ringing the doorbell gets no answer.
Mar 11, 2019 11:33 pm
"Oh, wow." Says Charlotte, as she crosses her arms in dissatisfaction. The trip had taken forever, our troupe was much, much smaller than it should have been, and to top it off, Aunt May wasn't answering.

"Are you guys just going to stand there, or do something?" She shrieks at her friends, pushing for them to do anything. With a sigh, she stomps the ground and tries to call Aunt May again, much louder now. "Auntie May! We're here! C'mon, open the fricking door, please! Uuuuugh..."

Assuming that there's no response, again, she walks back to the car, defeated, opening one of the doors and sitting on the seat, her legs outside of the vehicle. "Well, I tried my best." She says with a bratty smile, as she gets her nail file from her pockets and starts to make sure they look good, grinding gown imperfections.
Mar 12, 2019 12:48 am
Yngwie watches Charlotte as she walks back to the car. He's leaning up against it, taking in the sights. He takes a final long drag of his cigarette and tosses it into the grass, rubbing it out with one of his boots. His accent is a strange mixture of some kind of Scandinavian trying to sound British. "Eh? What do you want us to do about it then? I mean I could open that up no problem, but you know... Wouldn't want to surprise anyone inside. You sure it's empty? Old Aunt hasn't gone deaf or dead on you 'as she?"

(Weird, it's not letting me post as my character with avatar and such.)

Brindy thumbs an eyelash off her cheek. "Yay, spring break, woohoo! I can't belief I ate that whole bag of ketchup chips. So gross. Shut up, Yngwie, I did! You had like, two." She smacks her lip. "Charlotte, ask her if she has any Long Island Ice Teas!"
Mar 12, 2019 1:48 am
Charlie coyly smiles at Yngwie. "Well, why don't you show these two gals how manlier are guys from the Nordic countries, hmm?" She says with a quick wink, as she disappointedly sighs at Brindy's comment. "I don't think she does, girlfriend. Still... I'm sure our guy is willing to go down the road to get us a few drinks if our own supply is not enough. Right, Yngwie?"

She clicks her tongue at the foreigner's comment, shrugging off the possibility altogether as a crude joke, and slowly crosses her legs. "Well, I dunno! Really, that's all more the incentive for you to open the door. So hurry up!" She's growing impatient and you can tell by her tone and her frown.

"I'll go around back, see if they're partying already." Brindy steps away from the car and bravely walks around the side of the house.

Shit, this is stupid, probably a big dog to scare away bears. Or bears. Or, don't think Crystal Lake, don't think Crystal Lake, damnit Brindy!

Lets get Notice checks for Landon and Yngwie out at the car as well as a notice check Hoffman for since she's by the house.
Mar 12, 2019 2:42 pm
He look a bit taken aback at Charlotte's comment about going back for drinks. It was a long drive up here, and long time since they even saw a gas station. A 'quick' run to the store sounds like something that would take at least an hour, and he came out here to party with some lovely birds, not do their fucking errands. "Eh? Oh, I'm sure they got plenty. Can't live out in a place like this without a good supply." He starts walking up towards the house with Brindy, "Probably round back like Brindy says."

@Qralloq & Lux001 in Savage Worlds as 'Wild Card aka PCs' when you roll a check you roll the respective die plus a d6 and take the better result also the roll again should be checked since dice can 'ace' or when you roll the max reroll until it stops. Don't worry everyone will get a chance to do stuff once this one shot gets the volume turned all the way up and I pull the knob off... 0=)

Yngwie, looking around at the dilapidated states of the neighbor's houses says, "Yeah, I think you'd have to be, living this far out. I mean this is seriously moonshine country innit?". He whistles the Deliverance banjo song for emphasis.

Landon also seems to have noticed the state of the place. "Yeah... I dunno. Gotta admit I've never been so far from a city." She says as she slowly stops to grind her nails, shooting Yngwie a quick glance as she hears Brindy.

The young woman proceeds to take one of her bags, letting it rest on her arm as she sluggishly moves toward to where her friend's voice comes from. "C'mon" She says with a rueful smile. "We shouldn't let her alone with alcohol."

The house seems relatively normal. You see pictures of an older woman with black hair in frames with other people. You see one of your friend from college when they were younger and surprised by their missing front teeth smile and rather large ears they seemed to have grown into now next to her, the both of them holding up fish. After a few moments you notice an unpleasant smell coming from the kitchen where unwashed dishes have been festering. The garbage hasn't been taken out for a while and a thick haze of black flies buzz about lazily. Besides the messy kitchen nothing really seems out of place. In the main area, the living room, you notice a large leather bound book on the coffee table with a pen on it next to a hunting rifle.
Mar 14, 2019 1:57 pm
Yngwie scrunches his face up a bit from the smell, "Uh, rancid. You sure your aunt knew we were coming? I mean, place is a mess, no one's home." He grins at Charlotte, "And I'm not cleaning none of this up neither."
Mar 14, 2019 2:31 pm
OOC:
The fourth person that was going to come on the trip was sick and stayed in the dorms, yall are basically going to mooch off his Aunt for a vacation.
Mar 14, 2019 5:18 pm
"This is sooooo shady. I was lit for this, and now we have to like wait for his aunt to come home and then, what, explain why Lando is puking in the bathroom?"
Mar 14, 2019 7:02 pm
OOC:
Huh? Lando as in Landon? Charlotte is not puking o.O Why everyone thought that this is her Aunt's cabin? x) Also, can we give our friend a name?
"Ugh." Complains the music student, as she lets her duffel bag go on top of an armchair or a sofa. She stares at Brindy with a raised eyebrow, proceeding to playfully scoff at her. "Why is this shady? Their Auntie clearly is in the city or something. The place is a mess because old people don't mind living in a mess. I mean, she does live in the middle of nowhere. Don't be paranoid." Says Charlotte, shrugging off any suspicion. "She probably left for a trip or something and didn't mind leaving the place like this."

Charlotte takes a good glance around her and mindlessly decides to check the leather book, quickly flicking through the pages. "So, let's make ourselves useful, yeah? Go open every window, the both of you. We'll decide how to clean the place afterward, unless you don't mind living like an animal." She shoots Yngwie a quite, narrowed, challenging glare. "Ta-ta. "
Mar 14, 2019 7:58 pm
OOC:
I think in your previous post you called yourself Lando, plus you were the first one to the door, so makes sense for her to be your Aunt. She's not mine. :) Or is she related to none of us? Also, I vote that our friend is named Gary. Gary is scary.
Well, he can't argue with opening some windows. A bit of fresh air will be a welcome change. "Yeah'ollrite..." He'll take care of the kitchen windows first, and figure out a way to prop the back door open.
Mar 14, 2019 8:06 pm
OOC:
Sorry It's Aunt Mary. I think they're going off your use of Lando before
Landon flips through the book to find it to be a diary and reads the following:

Brindy checks each room, including the cellar, calling out "Hello". This may lead to her casing the joint for party supplies.
Mar 14, 2019 9:14 pm
Brindy finds the cellar door locked possibly from inside once she tries it. Something suddenly slams against the door, frantic scratching and clawing emanates from the other side of door. It was locked tight, but from the creaking sounds being nailed shut from the inside is doing as well now. The bolts are shaking and a gibbering sound could be heard behind the door, those upstairs hear it as well.

Brindy being impulsive but not foolish scrambles back up stairs. Yngwie looks at this on his way to the back door and Charlotte looks up from the book to see Brindy scrambling up the stairs from the basement towards them quiet surprised when the sound of wood creak and cracks. As she gets closer to the rest something flies up from downstairs pouncing at the top of the stairs looking at the trio.

The disfigured body, the black hair long dank and falling out in clumps on it's head looks towards the three of you with swollen eyes. It's mouth opens revealing needle like teeth. It's mouth slips wider unhinging showing a mauw from eye to ear as it lets out a guttural scream it's tattered sundress and jean jacket flapping about.

You've found Aunt Mary... or what probably use to be your friend's sweet Aunt Mary once upon a time.

Oh! Sorry, no, that was a mistake. It's Charlotte Landon.
"Hm. Weird..." Says Landon, to herself, as she stops flickering to read those two specific pages. "Hey, guys, have you heard about fourteen people being killed here in Sanc—" She raised her voice to make sure that everyone could hear her, but she's suddenly interrupted when she hears Brindy quickly making her way from the top of the cellar followed by the guttural noise. To say that the sudden noise scared her would be a simplification: She immediately jumps as she feels as her heart starts to race really fast, unconsciously knocking the book off the table with a sudden movement.

"H-Holy—" She says, or tries, although her voice comes off as hoarse when whatever that thing is suddenly leaps from downstairs.
OOC:

Charlotte is temporarily stunned, as she tries to slowly back away but simply can't thanks to her muscles that refuse to move, her hands slowly coming to rest on the hunting rifle. When Yngwie's hit connect, however, she winces, gripping the rifle's grip as she raises it defensively. She finally realizes what she has on her hands, gulping down and proceeding to aim as best as she can and press the trigger - She never ever shot a firearm before.

Yep everyone starts 'normally' with 3 unless you don't have something that add or subtracts due to hindrances or edges. Playing off your Hindrances will reward them, if it's face to face I usually give one to who ever shuffles the off deck when I start dealing from the alternate deck. So you could use one to reroll if you like.

Sorry for taking so long, busy week. So, uhm, can I aim twice? As in, is that bonus cumulative, or do I lose it if I don't use it in the next round?
Landon instinctively takes a step back, raising the gun, not wanting to abandon her friends. Despite her beating heart, and that she suddenly feels very light-headed, she shakes her head and does her best to aim. This time, better.

"I-I'll try to aim at its head, guys! Keep at i-it!" She says, hoarse words barely coming out of her mouth. She narrows her eyes at the thing, bits her lips and a fire starts to grow inside her. What the fuck is that, anyway?! The young woman's anger boils quickly, and she can't help but to grab the book from the floor and throw it at the thing as she hassles her. "Hey, Auntie May! Cover your ugly face with that horrible journal, because you clearly forgot your makeup!". As soon as she notices what she did, her eyes go wide as she quickly steps behind the sofa and its back at trying to get a good shot at the thing.

You could try and distract it using a Test of will like Taunting to see if you keep them distracted, on a raid I believe you'd gain +2 to your next action against them.

Aight, but seeing Yngwie wreck her ass like that, I'm not sure Landon wouldn't shoot. 😅

Charlotte flies out the door onto the deck from the kick from the rifle she wasn't expecting while standing and shooting.

Mary finding the primary agresser actually watches Yngwie while shaking her head and tries to attacks him wildly as he moves away form splintering wood from gun fire.
OOC:
Parry should be 6 for Y btw (2+(d8/2))
Yngwie moves to try and not let her grab on as she claws at him level him [Shaken] from the sudden attack and gunshot.
OOC:
Brindy's up +1 to attack (her parry is also lower till her next turn).

Brindy, unsatisfied with her knife's effect on the creature shudders from fear but it's just a defense mechanism. She knows deep down that she should look timid but act viciously. She darts forward and attacks again with her reverse knife fighters grip which is harder than it looks on TV.

Charlotte having gotten up from her last shot stands in the doorway and yells in frustration to Mary about how her house is tacky, how she looks ugly, and how the place looks like a slasher movie cheap vacation home with fake mounted fish on the wall.

Brindy is getting tired, she isn't used to stabbing so much. Once or twice, sure, that's a Saturday night. But this is getting pathological. Still, she feints a couple times quickly, then stabs downward, psycho style, at Aunt Mary's clavicle.

Since Mary hasn't gone she's still at parry of 4, don't forget you're at a +1 though due to Yngqie next to you.
Brindy connects again with her knife but doesn't seem to do enough damage but distracts her.
OOC:
For those playing the number meta game Parry is 6 (TN to hit) and her toughness is 8 (TN to wound, you'll need to beat her toughness by 4 to get a wound on her (shaken at 8, 1st wound at 12))
Mary tries to shake off the attack and counter attack besides just defending.

She lashes out at Yngwie again wildly.
OOC:
Wild attack give +2 to roll to hit and damage -2 to parry. Plus she has a wound I think.
OOC:
Y's toughness is 5 so 5>9>13 shaken with 2 wounds if you'd like to soak use a bennie.

(4) + 1 = 5

Damage on Y - (1d6, 1d8+2, RA)

1d6 : (1) = 1

1d8+2 : (83) + 2 = 13

Apr 11, 2019 3:01 pm
Akk, well my luck had to run out eventually. I'll use a bennie to soak. Does that soak both wounds or just one, and how many bennies do I have? Also, I've got this edge:

Berserk:
Smarts roll or go Berserk after being wounded; +2 Fighting and Strength rolls, -2 Parry,
+2 Toughness; Roll of 1 on Fighting die hits random adjacent target

So, I'm guessing even if the wounds are soaked, there's still a possibility of going berserk here? Rolling smarts if that's the case.

Rolls

Berserk (not a smart boi) - (1d4, RA)

(3) = 3

Apr 11, 2019 3:45 pm
OOC:
You'd first resolve the soak roll, you started with 3 bennies so if you haven't used one you have three left. Roll your Vigor die and a wild die. Take the best result, TN 4 you soak one wound (you'll have 1 wound and be shaken), TN 8 soaks both wounds (you'll have no wounds and not be shaken). After the results you'd be 'wounded' and you'd roll your wild die in addition to the smart's roll you've already done. If you're wounded still there may be a -1 or -2 to the smarts roll.

Short version: roll Vigor and a d6. Depending on the result possibly roll a d6 and subtract from that result plus your smarts roll depending on wounds.
Apr 11, 2019 4:11 pm
Awesome, thanks. (This is such a crunchy system.)

OK, 5, so that's one wound.

3 for smarts on both rolls, so with the -1 that's a 2 on that roll. Not sure what the TN was there. More than 2 I'm guessing?

TN was 4, yep you're shaken with one wound and both rolls have a result of 2 total. You're at -1 to all checks now plus shaken until you unshaken. You're turn now, roll your spirit -1 on that die plus a wild die (also at -1) if you unshaken you can act, if you don't succeed but want to act spend a bennie. When you're shaken all you can do is move about.

Brindy grabs a hold of Mary's shirt and slashes her with her stabbing hand. It nicks tough leather skin making her feel a bit discouraged.
OOC:
No worries. I'll throw up an action for Charlotte also to move things along.
Unsure about how much good shooting will do and yelling seemed to start working Charlotte opts to try something different she's not really good at while Mary's distracted...

She thinks Mary doesn't notice her.
OOC:
Charlotte's next action if melee will get a +2 gang up bonus plus she'll have 'Getting the drop' on Mary which is +4 to attack/Damage if you don't have the book, and if a wild attack is used that's be +8to hit and +6 to damage so that would probably drop her... do we need to do an OoC topic on combat possibly? You pile into the car, Charlotte shuffling into the backseat cradling the rifle. Getting it turned around you drive down the road back the way you came a lot faster most likely. OOC:
FYI you guys are out in the open the cars were behind you and some made a beeline for the store besides Yngwie who thought it was easier to show he wasn't a smiling killer crazy person. But then he follow yall and someone tried to shoot him. Did you want to get the rest of the way to the store door?
May 31, 2019 1:07 pm
Right, with no cover Brindy beelines for the store door.
May 31, 2019 2:14 pm
Aye, that was my plan as well now that the shooting's started.
Jun 3, 2019 2:16 pm
Brindy, Charlotte, and Yngwie bolt for the front door and pull on it in vain as it doesn't open and seems to be locked. You feel a bit of panic when you get a click and a bar moving and the door flies open hands grab the three of you as someone leans out and takes pot shots in the direction of the shooter before a shot comes back in return close to where you were but does no damage.

You are all ushered with haste into the convenience store, a woman and man quickly go to nailing the front door shut. You notice the police offer watches the three of you with his gun pointed at you with a blank face. Charlotte sits down and cries suddenly the toll of this whole ordeal weighing on her. The deputy's eyebrow raises as he notices she's cradling the rifle and it's pointed at Yngwie's leg as she sits.

"Yall ain't from round these parts... What are you doing here and is anyone coming for you?" he asks in a flat tone eyeing you.

You hear the crunch of potatoes chips and see a sudden flash of light as someone takes a picture of this standoff.

"Damn it Ian, Boy I've a right mind to toss you back out there on your kester and rehang you where I found you... Mister I wanted to take an interesting photo and got stuck and almost died..." he states not looking at the boy, the man and the woman jump a bit at the sudden flash of light.

It's darker in here then outside, only a bit of sunlight comes through boarded up entries and windows.
OOC:
Writing out Charlotte (Mental breakdown) and writing in Ian. Who seems to have found what was going on and opted to try and get a photo portraying things and got stuck somewhere and was hanging from something in the process instead of attacked probably because he was up too high (Fire escape maybe). You also notice he's sitting next to the only junkfood left in the store, a pile of wrappers on his other side.
Jun 3, 2019 3:09 pm
Yngwie glances at the rifle as well and tucks his legs under the chair away from the barrel. It's rather impossible for him to hide his scorn at these gun toting lunatics. "Yeah, no mate we, 'ain't from round these parts'", he says in a mock country accent. His British/Swedish accent really comes out when he's nervous though making him a bit difficult to follow, "We're comin' up here see this crazy bird's bleedin aunt, manky damn hinny wat? She flips her shit, barely got out alive and all. Now here you all bloody Americans, shooting damn crazy, don't want none of this seen?"
Jun 3, 2019 3:37 pm
Brindy adds, "Fucking zombies. Bae, the country is bullshit. But mad props for surviving all your lives like this." She offers a first for a bump.
Jun 3, 2019 4:39 pm
Ian looks away sheepishly as the deputy berates him. "Sorry, that was just too perfect to miss." He fidgets with the camera while mumbling,"Hope the flash didn't wash everything out..."

He looks over the new folks and says, "You guys are crazy coming across that firing line! Would have loved some action shots of that, but these barricades covered too much..."
Jun 3, 2019 4:50 pm
"What's his deal, anyway"? she thumbs back toward the store front as she ducks behind cover. "Did you folks reply GTFO to his barn raising vite?"

Always think I've updated this thread, my apologies.
"It's been a bit crazy the last few days, nothing like seeing loved one's attack each other to make one a bit jumpy. That and some people are just plan jerks. Less people also mean less provisions and some people think it's better to help yourself then someone else." the officer states with a sigh the look of lament on his face.
Jun 17, 2019 2:39 pm
Brindy frowns in sympathy. "Yeah, the family bit is really tough. We were attacked by a friend's aunt who was level 5 Romero. Couldn't do anything to harm her, it, 'cept for Norwegian death metal over here. He went to town on her and, well, saved us all."

She looks out at the gunman. "So he's kin, is he? Any chance he'll calm down and join the galactic rebellion?"
Jun 17, 2019 3:34 pm
Charlotte stops rocking and looks up from Brindy to Yngwie and back moving her bangs away from her face and behind her ear before going back to staring at the ground and rocks after looking at the rest of the store's defenders. "No idea who it really is and if they're stop talking to other people."

"It seems crazy to have our town beset by monster out of nightmares. When was the first time that they appeared David? Week ago? They've been aggressive as a tick on fire but they seem to heard us into town. Seeing your neighbors and loved ones with them crazy smiles really puts a toll on your sanity..." the lady explains wiping sweat from barricading the front door.

"Yep bout a week Clare, those aren't the ones that haunt your sleep, the winged... things that come out at night... snatching up people and animals and flying away back into the night with those leathery wings..." David states before shivering.

"Most people are hold up at the Town Hall, we have a generator hear and some food though, figured we'd hold out for someone to come in to rescue us. Don't have the provisions to each besides the bit of spare junk food that one ate." he adds before nodding to the other teen.

There's a loud commotion from the back of someone banging causing him to swear brandish his piece and check out what's going on.
[ +- ] Stranger Danger?
"H-h-hello? You must help me! They're coming they attacked me and they're chasing me. Let me in!!!!" he stammers out trying the locked door handle in vain since it doesn't unlock or jiggle from his side.

The adults argue about it being too dangerous as the man tries to get in frantically.

The Deputy swears at the couple stating he doesn't know about that hurt gentlemen if it's a person in need or part of a group wanting to rob them and/or kill them. They don't get to far into the discussion as the door has something slam into from the outside. The deputy in a panic empties his clip into the man who forced his way in. The guttural growl of something moves in slowly from outside as the gun smoke leaves.

You see a dog who seems to have been clawed up on it's front arms and back haunches. Spittle drips from it's mouth as it opens unnaturally larger then it's mouth in a smile. You see two smaller shadows moving from outside in behind to follow soon enough. Clare and David bolt for farther into the store as the Deputy tries to shoot hearing the tell tale click of an empty revolver.
Jun 17, 2019 3:44 pm
Brindy's blade flicks out and she steps in between the (hopefully?) rabid dogs and the shell-shocked Charlotte. "Herded, you say? By things like them or zombies?"
Jun 17, 2019 3:49 pm
The deputy picks up a piece of metal shelving and shrugs, "Maybe both?" he states sounding a bit confused. The dog standing on the now dead man rakes his front paws on his back before moving in towards you all. It growls two smaller dogs move in and drag the body out as the large on inches towards the rest of you.

Ian sets off his flash several times and one final really bright blast gets even him a litter starry eyed, it seems the dog was eyeing Bindy's night.

"The windows but those are boarded up too." the Deputy states looking around for something to swing.

He swears as the larger dog pounces on him diving away from Brindy and another dashes in looking around for an easy target.

He lets out a scream and yell of horror and pain as you hear the sound of bones breaking at it latches onto his shoulder dropping him to the ground. The second dog opts to tussle with the downed Deputy's leg attempting to pull it away. You all hear the sound of rending flesh the larger dog pulling part of the sheriff away with his closed mouth. The sound of rended flesh and a body being dragged out the door by the two dogs can be heard the smell of fresh blood hit you all the trail from the kill halfway to the door.

And a theme park doesn't sound like it'd have a lot of protection to it. What we need is a..... I don't know, what sort of building has lots of food and fortified entrances? A medieval themed restaurant maybe?"

Ian wanders to a window and tries to get a look outside.
OOC:
He'd be looking about and what sort of buildings are nearby; stores, houses, whatever. To see if they'd might have supplies and how much dangerous space needs crossed. Also, if Char and Yngwie did run out the door when we fought the dog, maybe he could see where they went. Perhaps some group of zombies and dogs chasing them, or pileup as they eat. A distraction like that might be handy if there was somewhere to go.

Aug 21, 2019 2:24 pm
The two of you skulk and move cautiously now with the realization mistakes could literally be lethal.

After navigating back alleys you come back onto Central Avenue where you are presented with what is unmistakably the Town Hall.

There's a sign that even says 'Town Hall'.

The hall is a relatively large two story Georgian Building. It has people are the front at the double doors. Armed Militia stand guard behind several carefully placed cars. A school bus and a fire engine have been used as makeshift barricades to funnel and slow any approaches to the front of the building.

To the left of the building is the Sheriff's Department. An altogether smaller building, it appears to have been badly damaged and no attempt has been made to board up the windows or protect it from the elements. It is within line of sight of the front of the Town Hall.
Aug 21, 2019 2:30 pm
Brindy grabs Ian's arm and squeezes it. She makes sure her knife isn't showing, and she calls out, waving. "We're alive. Can we approach, please? There are things out there!"

One of the militia look in the direction of the two of you before they frown others move over. You can swear you hear them say 'teenager' and 'she's just a girl' as they see you. The welcome seems lukewarm as they wave you over as if all their excitement is drained out of them.

"Names, and how'd you get here." one states with a sigh.

We fought her and screamed alot but eventually we got to the car and came looking for town, like totally under the speedlimit if anyone asks, okay? and now we get her and BillyBob McFucktard over there starts shooting at us? Like what the actual fuck, am I right? Then we ran into like the world's dingiest 7-11 and there were a bunch of people but then these giant Supernatural Hellhounds (ahh, team Sammy, by the way) start scratching through the door so we just, like, fought them again, and then we heard that people were gathering here so ran for it, serpentine style, right, like you don't want to get a Ramsay to the Rickon."

She's not out of breath for all of that.
Aug 29, 2019 1:23 am
Ian "Yeah yeah, Ian and Brindy... this has been so crazy! She's definitely right, that crazy guy was shooting at everyone. I don't know where those dogs came from, but they broke in and .... there was no way it was safe in that little store. The sheriff suggested this place, so we took a chance coming here. So glad to see people that aren't diseased, or whatever makes them go crazy murderous"

Ian, on the other hand is definitely out of breath from the trip over and rushing out those words.

Ian pats down his pockets for a bit. Then while holding his camera strap tightly says sheepishly, "Mr. Negan, I don't have any weapons. We left in such a hurry..."
Aug 30, 2019 12:08 pm
The two of you are lead inside by two of the guards, one leading and one watching you all. A large central staircase is bypassed several people move about inside the area under the watchful eye of militia type looking men. In the left wing of the building the students are lead into the main hall. On a large chair you see a large portly fellow with thinning hair, who looks over maps of the town spread on a large oak table with two other gentlemen. Once he notices the students he dismisses his companions. Focusing on the maps rarely looking up he asks after his two companions are gone about how you arrived and the state of the roads out of town.

Brindy will do her best to retrace their route in the car from the cabin. She may attempt to limit her profanity, unless Der Mayor swears, then look out.
Sep 12, 2019 2:26 pm
After hearing the details while nodding he stands and looks solemn but friendly,

"Friend, you must ecuse the reception. Since the attcfks began a week ago we cannot be too careful--there are not just creatures out there who wish us harm, but sadly other members of the community, some of whom were bad seeds before this terrible event befell out beautiful town. I have unfortunately ahd to recruit a militate to protect the others at the Town Hall, and not just from monsters. Tell me, have you had any trouble with the creatures or others around town?"

"There are a small pocket of survivors holed up in their own homes but mostly they've start to pool together for safety and security. As you may have noticed, a great number have fled to this very Town Hall, and it is I, as Mayor of Sanctuary who has kept the town safe. There are a few God-fearing folks barricaded in the church, nut there are other more dishonest types still out and about. Survivalists who lived in the woods and rarely troubled the town before, now make raids during broad daylight hours and have no problem with indiscriminate killed to get what they want. There's also a ragtag group of bikers who ride their dirty machines up and down Central Avenue at all hours, robbing and pillaging and attracting those damn winged beasts. With these trouble makers we cant possibly lead a group out on foo, and even if we used the school bus we would have to take enough armed men with us that there wouldn't be enough left to protect the others." he divulges before going quiet with a sigh and frowning in thought.

It was mostly to check out the different in the new version. If you want to solo I'm okay if not we can retire it as well.
"Anyway for now you must be tired, tonight is almost upon us... so we must prepare. We will ensure you are fed and rested. Tomorrow we will fill you in on work duty; everyone who stays here works, else they will be asked to leave, and I don't recommend that."

Thanks for introducing me (repeatedly) to SW. I'm really digging the system, and hope to run more games like Solomon Kane in the future.

As to Solomon Kane, do you think we should upgrade to SWADE? I'm not sure that the changes would be as onerous as I had initially thought they might be.

It's your preference really I figure, aim is very different from the meta standpoint I felt. Free skills is nice since originally back in '12 it was always depressing to hear, 'wait I need to take notice?' to which you hear 'No... no you don't... but if you roll bad my apologies for laughing at your misfortune...' I miss my old Deadlands Reloaded game, 4'10" martial artist in the wild west. Just don't let me dodge bullets and get close like the cannon team. Nothing like fighting on top a cannon so they can't fire.
