OOC:
I'm just throwing it out there to see if anybody else has another plan
Jul 29, 2020 1:18 am
"It's not a terrible plan. Maybe we can convince the mercs to get in on the fun, and cause some real chaos." Kel adds. "If Kirsk can get the kobolds interested in mingling with the crowd, maybe you two can convince the mercs that the ruckus between the cultists and kobolds mean that they plan on turning on the mercs to get their gold back. After all, they need it all for the Dragon Queen."

"When the chaos seems thick enough, I can get our main prisoner out and meet you all back at the hill we encountered the lookout. We may be able to get some of the others out too, if all goes well..."

OOC:
Since I see no objections, I'm going to say that you at least go with the kobold plan. Potentially with mercs thrown in as well.
You all walk back towards the front of the encampment to where the kobolds are camped. As you approach you scout around for someone that could be construed as being of a higher ranking than the rest.
OOC:
Give me perception checks please

17 will do fine
Kel, you look at a group of kobolds and you can see them all laugh and talk loudly with each other, but there seems to be one kobold that the other talk more quietly to and that seems to be a little more stoic than the rest and as you get closer you see a headdress made out of feathers and a draconic skull placed next to him.
Aug 1, 2020 3:53 pm
Kel nods and whispers to the group, pointing out the leader. "That one is in charge. Perhaps we can pass on a message from our superiors that they have been found lacking, and will not be receiving the Queen's blessings or some such nonsense. Play the religious angle. Get him mad, but make sure he knows to take his anger out on the cultists and not us."
Aug 2, 2020 1:55 am
"I was going to go the opposite, they did such a good job in the raid and pillaging, they were to be given a new place of honor, what if we tell them that true followers would be rewarded, and the mercenaries camp is theres?"
Aug 2, 2020 2:31 am
Kel nods appreciatively. "That'd do it as well."
Aug 2, 2020 6:08 pm
'That could work, but may keep the cultists out of the fighting. I was thinking discussing how the kobolds are so easy to manipulate, and that the gold was never intend for the dragon queen nearby so the 'accidentally overhear'.. that may cause ange towards us though. Kel's idea could work'
Aug 2, 2020 6:34 pm
"Hmm... Ok let's combine the plans. I'll go up and yell at the Kobolds asking why they haven't moved yet. Word was spread that the mercenaries can't be trusted and have taken some of the Gold. The Kobolds are needed to force them to leave and guard all of the treasures. We know that the Kobolds are the most loyal and would never betray the cult, but some of the cultists might not be as trustworthy."
Aug 2, 2020 6:38 pm
Kel nods. "I'll leave you all to it. I'm going to get as close as I can to our priority prisoner and try to spring him as soon as the chaos starts." she looks to Octavia. "Might it be prudent for you to take a position close to the other groups of prisoners and attempt to get them out as well? Or do you think this part of the job might need... backup?"

Alright, Kirsk if you can RP what exactly you want to say to the kobolds and give me a persuasion check, maybe intimidation depending on how you go about it
Aug 6, 2020 3:44 am
Kirsk nods at the others and heads over towards the Kobolds with a determination. In his mind Kirsk imagines his first instructor when he was an acolyte, a one eyed dragonborn with a stern face and didn't allow any messing around. He channeled the first time he was caught sneaking food into the dorms, breaking a few rules, but the punishment certainly taught him a lesson. Heading towards one with food in its hand. Kirsk rips out the food and throws it to the ground, speaking in draconic, he leans down baring his tusks.
"Why are you still here eating, do you want those mercenaries to succeed in their plan or are you in on it too." Kirsk growls and looks around again. "You were ordered to surround the mercenaries and disarm them so we can search for the missing treasures. Our lords treasure has been stolen and we know the mercenaries did it. Why else do you think we let them get drunk? Do you not hear them singing, make noise as they celebrate stealing the treasure? I thought being dragon kin you'd have more respect for a dragons horde. Or perhaps your loyalties do not belong to the cult? Is that it? Don't just stand there, to arms and Now move!!!"
OOC:
Sorry, for the delay I had a hurricane to deal with
OOC:
And what a time to get a 20...

Damn, I hope you're alright.
Kirsk, despite the fact that you're not dressed as anything more than a lowly cultist initiate, the kobolds nearest to you jump up frightened and looks to their leader. He's no more composed as he scrambles to put on his headdress and shakily croaks,
[ +- ] In Draconic
The kobolds mobilize extraordinarily quickly and begin to scurry over towards the mercenaries and shortly thereafter you can hear and just about see a scuffle start. A mob of people and kobolds fight and cultists try to run over to separate the groups and restore order.
OOC:
Amazing nat 20 for a pretty crazy gambit xD I'll say you don't have a lot of time before the higher ranking cultists can stop the carnage and the kobolds can point you out, so what do you guys want to do? Kel, I'm assuming that you took place by Leosin? And Octavia by the other prisoners?
Aug 6, 2020 1:56 pm
OOC:
That sounds a correct assumption.
Kel just gets up to her position, still in her cultists robes, near Leosin when she can hear the telltale sounds of a scuffle. She nearly chuckles, but tries to maintain a serene calm as she makes to work the man's bindings loose, with her blade if necessary.

"Do not be alarmed," she whispers to him. "We came from Greenest. We need to move quickly if we are to get out of her in one piece."
Aug 6, 2020 5:05 pm
The half-elf lifts his head and looks at you. You can see that he’s been badly beaten but he still manages a crooked smile at you. He spits a gob of blood onto the ground. "From Greenest? Huh, didn’t expect anyone to come for me. How are you planning on getting me out? I assume not through the front gate?"
Aug 6, 2020 9:10 pm
Kel shrugs. "Not unless you have a better plan. They should be too busy fighting each other right now to notice you missing. If you're swift and quiet, I think we can make it." She looks at his bruises and the tiny pool of blood her just created in the ground. "Can you walk? Or, more importantly, run?"
Aug 7, 2020 12:53 am
Octavia nods at the plan, moves to ready by the other slaves. As the noise starts she is pleasantly surprised at how quick Kirsk seems to have managed to rile the kobolds.

If any one else is around she acts surprised at the noise. 'What on earth..I knew we should have trusted those, you should check it out. I'll make sure this lot don't get any bright ideas.
Aug 7, 2020 7:59 am
Octavia, as you walk closer to the prisoners you can indeed see two cultists standing guard. There are no sign of the higher ranking cultists, they all seem to have run over to the melee to try and calm everything down.
OOC:
Octavia, give me a persuasion check.
Leosin chuckles mirthfully, "Walk sure. Run...eh...perhaps...however..., Leosin looks at the slopes leading up to the plateau above. "We might be able to climb up and move around the camp. It doesn't look too difficult and I should have the strength to do so."
OOC:
Kel, give me a stealth check with advantage as Leosin helps you look out for any guards that might spot you loosening him
Aug 7, 2020 2:40 pm
"Heh. Not a bad plan, that. If I had thought far enough ahead, I would have grabbed another robe for you to wear so that we could escape during the confusion, but they will be too busy with the commotion to look up on the slopes." she hoped.
