Zymph gives out something between a grunt and a squeal, but the poison seems to do the trick. He falls to his knees and is easily moved to a spot near the porch to sleep it off.
OOC:
Well, you theoretically have three bird costumes to use if you want to. That will entail a Deception roll once you meet up with anyone. Hildar also has access to Mask magic that could also be used to disguise.

So, where to?
Nov 10, 2020 7:23 pm
OOC:
I’d say just enter the building, disguised would be nice :D
Nov 11, 2020 3:25 pm
OOC:
Sounds good to me.
Nov 11, 2020 3:44 pm
Hildar gestures at himself with his wand....
OOC:
Ok, going to costume up with Mask to disguise himself as one of the costumed figures and will add the Realism additional effect so he looks and sounds exactly like Zymph whilst he's masked (so 2 x difficulty dice then). Any upgrades or anything before I roll?
Nov 11, 2020 5:13 pm
OOC:
Nope, feel free to roll. Yes, upgrade two times. One of those will be from a SP, since y'all need some. Other for general wards that seem to be up. Just keep in mind that if you did keep the costumes, they'd only really fit Hildar, Nera, and Nekurr. Tronus and Bruv will have a hard time fitting into them.
Nov 12, 2020 8:33 am
Hildar thinks for a moment before turning to look at the costumes they have available and then at Tronus and Bruv. "I'm going to try something....please do not be alarmed and if it works please don't wander too far"
OOC:
Ok, I'm going to cast it on Tronus and Bruv instead then, dropping the Realism additional effect but adding 1 x Range so they can be at Short Range from Hildar and 1 x Additional Illusion to do both of them.....difficulty will be 2 x Challenge and 1 x Difficulty dice....Can the Triumph be to have added the Realism effect anyway?

Rolls

Casting Mask +Rng +Add

3 Success, 1 Triumph, 2 Threat

Total: 3 Success, 2 Threat, 1 Triumph

Nov 12, 2020 3:11 pm
OOC:
OK, all looks good. Realism is in effect for both targets. 2 threat explained in the narrative below...
As Nera and Nekurr slip on the Night Creeper masks, Hildar touches Bruv and Tronus with his wand. The two inquisitors feel a slight tingle.

Suddenly, Bruv and Tronus take on the appearance of a human-sized person wearing a Night Creeper outfit, complete with mask. After a bit of experimentation, the two realize that they can even remove the "mask" if they wish. Unmasked, Bruv looks just like Skeeter Zymph. But so does Tronus...
OOC:
Who's taking point on entry into the house?

OOC:
Ha! That's funny.

Is suggest one of our best talkers take "point". As I imagine that will be where things start...

That said, Bruv should be passable at deceiving ppl (Deception GGGGG) which might be our initial approach, and he looks like Skeeter?

What is our plan, anyway? šŸ˜…

OOC:
Nekuur is Charm YYY - Negotiation YYG - Deception GG
emsquared says:

OOC:
That is a very sensible questions... It will end with go in and kill everyone, but should we just start with one of our Skeeter's walking in? Maybe the one with the most Deception?
Nov 13, 2020 9:22 am
OOC:
Yeah go in and see what we see, if there's some unnatural stuff going on I'm guessing it's going to pop off pretty quickly. Might be worth sticking one of the Skeeter's to the rear of the group so the fact there is two of him wont be so readily apparent so Hildar will stick one of the disguises on and stay roughly in the middle of the group so he's the same distance from both Bruv and Tronus
Nov 13, 2020 6:14 pm
Bruv contorts himself to pass through the entwined vines and dead ivy draping the rotting columns and broken boards on the porch. The others follow behind, emerging into a large room dominated by a cold hearth. The internal walls are in various states of collapse, with jumbles of crumbling furniture placed helter-skelter. A rickety ladder leads to what looks like an upper loft above, visible through several large holes in the ceiling. A doorway is open to the left and leads into a room littered with junk, while a sturdy-looking door is closed on the opposite wall. A large wooden cage sits in the corner to your right. There's someone in it.

A tired voice coos, "What now?" You recognize it as belonging to Anzila, the weaver.
OOC:
Setbacks for darkness, for intervening cage bars, and for her apparently not taking it as unusual to find bird-costume people around.

Rolls

Vigilance versus illusion

3 Success, 2 Advantage, 7 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 4 Failure

Nekurr follow whoever the Zymph in front is, quietly. As far as he understood, boat man is the boss and that lady is a spider. And every cat knows best than to mess up with spiders. He looks around the place, wondering if there are any other birdies around. As everyone also knows, every cat likes catch a little birdy from time to time as well.
OOC:
Now this will be a particularly bad roll!

EDIT: CAT VISION!!!

Nekurr pauses for a breath to scan the room for any other people. The room is pretty dim; the only light is from what appear to be candles burning in the next room. Nevertheless, the priest of Fortuna doesn't sense anyone in this room other than the caged weaver. As he shifts his weight to scan the place, a floorboard creaks under his feet; along with the weaver's little quip, that should be enough to alert anyone in the next room at least that there are others present.
OOC:
Let's say 2 setbacks for darkness at the moment until one of you provides some lighting. That means CESN's roll is just 3 success, 1 threat, which equals sqeeeeeeak...
Nov 16, 2020 4:05 pm
OOC:
Do we have a sickle that hasn't been used to poke anyone yet?
Bruv turns to mutter to the others quickly, "Da weaver is anudder dangerous complication... We got any poison left? Or anudder way to take 'er out of dis equation for now?"
Nov 16, 2020 5:42 pm
OOC:
I believe Tronus has a sickle, and Hildar swiped a couple of vials of poison.
Nov 17, 2020 1:37 pm
Hildar nods at Bruv and taps a small pouch at his side where the vials of poison and antidote are.
Nov 17, 2020 4:09 pm
OOC:
There's no "whisper secretly" skill, so I'm going to call this Discipline. Bruv's got 2 ranks, so she'll roll Perception versus that. Boost for general (but not complete) silence. I'll use the 3 advantage to alert her that your goal is not what she thought it was.
The caged figure cranes her head toward you to hear. "What is this all about?"
OOC:
Re-rolled. See below.

Rolls

Perception vs. Discipline

2 Success, 5 Advantage, 2 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 3 Advantage

OOC:
Any setback still for the conditions?
Nov 17, 2020 5:17 pm
OOC:
So, I'm gonna have to press the issue despite the roll going our way cuz I want to continue to be silent, but... seems like Skulduggery would be a more appropriate skill to me for communicating stealthily.

Conducting covert activity. Cunning just being a more natural underlying Characteristic too for communicating something without others noticing than Willpower.
Bruv doesn't really see any way to neutralize her that wouldn't raise her alarm first or make a bunch of noise... plus, whoever is inside the door knows they're there, and is no doubt expecting Skeeter's retinue to show up. So while they might have a few moments, too much of a pause out here could attract notice.

Bruv waves his hands dismissively to Anzila and shakes his head to the group, but speaks again concealing his words as best he can, "Dey're expecting at least da 3 from da Corn field-group, we know. Maybe two of us stay out 'ere? Can watch our backs too 'at way... Den come in when you 'ear da trouble start?"

Bruce turns and heads to the door, preparing to go inside, leaving the choices of who stays behind - if anyone - to the others to conduct soundlessly.

OOC:
What conditions are you referring to? Nekurr's poisoning has worn off. (It's a one-encounter effect.) Was there something else? 2 setbacks for darkness at the moment, when sight is needed.

OOC:
Good point. Her advantage didn't give your plan away; it only alerted her that you aren't behaving how she'd expect you to behave. I was thinking more "Keep calm despite being in danger," which could also be Cool in this system. But I'm cool to re-roll it versus raw Cunning (since Bruv is untrained in Skulduggery).

OK, so how are you using the 2 threat?
