No if you were working on the assumption they were gone I’m fine with that (I didn’t say I was keeping them around after they cleared the pile after all). Let’s try to clear the field a bit....
Hildar quickly whips his wand out and sends a blast of energy towards the mayors companions.....

going for an Attack spell with the Empowered additional effect, 3 difficulty dice, +3 damage for using the wand...well.....that’s a tad disappointing lol. Will use 2 advantage to recover some strain and 2 to give bruv a boost on their next check...hold on, forgot about Natural....going to use it to reroll this (don’t think I’ve used it this ‘session’).

So assuming I’m right and I haven’t used Natural yet that’s 14 damage to the minion group and I’ll use the Triumpth to take one out

Even with the red and black dice added in, that drops both remaining minions. 1 Threat will mean that further spell casting suffers a setback die until the end of Hildar's next turn. More soon.
Bolts of magical energy shoot from Hildar's wand, striking both of the masked figures in their chests. The Night Creepers lurch and gyrate for a moment before falling to the ground, dead. A trail of smoke streams from where their back robes still remain smoldering.

Wayland's eyes widen as his allies fall dead, but then a shuffling noise comes from behind the back door. The wooden structure flies open, revealing a shambling husk of rotting straw with sickle claws... The mayor grins. "Ah. There they are."

OK, looks like Hildar is the only one who failed. Hildar's at 2 setbacks now, one for the scarecrow, one for the icky body. We'll use the 2 threat from Tronus to give the mayor a boost on his next check (assuming he's still alive).

Hildar can be rallied with a Leadership check by anyone else: Difficulty is us Discipline skill, RP, with a setback since there are two sources of fear.

2 PCs are up. Let me know if y'all want to let Nera take her turn; she'd probably shoot at the scarecrow, assuming Bruv and Tronus could take the mayor. Bruv is at medium distance (somewhere near the front door, while the mayor is somewhere near the doorway labeled K5 on the map below.

Tactically, it might make sense for Nekurr to take the last PC slot so he can keep the light spell going (and remove the two setbacks for darkness) as long as possible, but feel free to go now, CESN, if you would like.
The shocking sight unnerves poor Hildar, still uneasy about being near the corpse of Kellis Isle. Tronus notices the Elf falter, and the mayor thus notices, as well...

Nera remains unfazed by the startling appearance of the shambling creature. She pulls a trio of arrows from her quiver, carefully levels her bow at the creature, and lets fly the volley. Two of the projectiles tear through the sackcloth of the creature's torso, spilling straw onto the floor. Yet the creature keeps lumbering forward...

Nera will hit for 8 9 damage, then trigger Linked for an additional hit and 8 9 more damage. (Soak applies to each hit separately.)

Ok so I'd like to use a Maneuver (or Action?), to drag Skeeter inside the door, drop him, and then a Action (or Maneuver, whichever I didn't use to move Skeeter) to move into Short Range of the kitchen combat.

I'd also like to flip a Story to activate Heroic Recovery, and gain back 5 Strain.

Sounds good. I just rechecked the Encumbrance rules, and they get pretty mathy, so bear with me:

Bruv's Encumbrance Threshold = 12; he's carrying 8/12 Encumbrance-worth of gear; Skeeter is an Encumbrance 8 object, so that puts Bruv at 16/12 total Encumbrance for an excess of 4. The rules seem to suggest that you'd have to roll a Daunting (PPPP) Athletics check to do this, but that seems harsh -- maybe if you were trying to lift him over your shoulder or something. Alternatively, we make the movement automatic, but use the "encumbered" rules, which state that you lose your free maneuver this turn (for exceeding your ET+Brawn = 15), and you suffer 2 strain per maneuver (for 4 strain suffered this turn).

So, I'll leave it to you: Try that Daunting (PPPP) Athletics check and try to save the strain? Suffer the 4 strain, no roll, and move up to the kitchen door? Drop one item of at least Encumbrance 1, then move him up for no strain penalty?

Either way, once at the kitchen door, please do the Hard (PPP) Discipline check, but you can take 2 boosts (1 for some warning from the others, the second the passed boost from Nera).

Wow, that seems like a pretty severe interpretation, as I am not lifting or carrying him, which is what Encumbrance pretty explicitly pertains to.

But I'll just leave Skeeter on the porch, Maneuver into the kitchen (short range from combatants?), and Action to Engage with the Mayor (still using Heroic Recovery).

Just reread it, and you're right. Dragging seems not to be covered. Seems it should slow you down considerably, though, so why don't we say you can drag him inside and then bolt for the kitchen, but you can't also get an action in (which is pretty much what you suggested). That puts him inside and you at short range to the action. You can't engage with the mayor this turn, but Heroic Recovery is fine.

2 advantage on the fright check. Thoughts?

I had edited my post to state that I'll spend them on recovering Strain. It's tough work managing Strain, while sustaining spells and taking a bunch of maneuvers, and combat, etc...

I knew it would be, but this is really the first test of my build to try to do that... it's going... okay :P

Yeah, y'all are all getting pretty powerful, so strain is one of the few things keeping things interesting. I think it's a design feature of the system. :)
Bruv leaves Zymph's limp body right inside the doorway and bounds toward the commotion inside the house. The sight of the scarecrow lumbering toward Nera takes the Orc aback, but he maintains his composure and gets a second wind.

"Mother of all that is not lucky!" Nekurr exclaims as the scarecrow barges as the moon moves behind the trees and it suddenly goes very, very dark (and scary!). However, just before disappearing, it seems as if the weak light of the moon shines a little stronger on the scarecrow as it is set on fire

Looks like on p. 16 Nekurr augmented Hildar and Tronus, but not himself. I was thinking it was Nera and Nekurr, but seems I was wrong. We treated Nera and Hildar as being augmented this round, so why don't we retcon and say those are the two benefitting from Nekurr's spell right now? That would make the roll above a success with 4 threat.

I'll try to be more meticulous about tracking buffs from here on out.
