The aqueous fist slammed into Kelek but he twisted reality a bit to reduce the impact!

The Staff, in one of the few times it doesn't strike true, is deflected by an arcane shield!

Reaction to cast Shield. Kelek's AC is now 22 until the start of his next turn.

Focused Aim: When you miss with an attack roll, you can spend 1 to 3 ki points to increase your attack roll by 2 for each of these ki points you spend, potentially turning the miss into a hit.

Spend 1 ki to raise and see his 22 AC, folding his defense. 🃏

Eric raises his shield in the air and says a few ritualistic chants to himself before unleashing a firestorm on Kelek and Skylla

I don't see a map andI can't tell how far we are away from him as well as Kosar. If we are all in to close proximity to avoid collateral damage let me know and I'll switch it up. Trying to just hit the bad guys!!

Fire Storm

A storm made up of sheets of roaring flame appears in a location you choose within range. The area of the storm consists of up to ten 10-foot cubes, which you can arrange as you wish. Each cube must have at least one face adjacent to the face of another cube. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw. It takes 7d10 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

The fire damages objects in the area and ignites flammable objects that aren't being worn or carried. If you choose, plant life in the area is unaffected by this spell.

My previous description of the setup...
At the command word, the balcony doorway went from hazy to transparent. The demiplane was about twenty by twenty feet, populated by a man and a woman in dark robes who stood over a bound kneeling man. All three were within a pentagram apparently drawn on the ground in blood from the still bleeding wounds of your friend, Kosar!
You're all ten feet from the demiplane doorway (wide enough for one person at a time), and the edge of the blood pentagram is ten feet from the doorway.
Firestorm *might* be dangerous to your friends in melee, Diana and Bobby, and poor Kosar.

Yes, that would be bad! Sorry I missed that in my rush to catch up. Let's switch it up to use the shield to radiate an aura of dread on the enemy - It sounds like they are all just 20 ft from me.


Anytime during your turn, you can have the Shield radiate an aura of dread for 1 minute. Any creature hostile to you that starts its turn within 20 feet of the shield must make a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is frightened until the start of its next turn. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this power of the shield for the next 24 hours. Once the shield uses this power, it can’t use it again until the next dawn.

The wave of fear washed over the vile duo but they remained defiant: Kelek with some effort, Skylla with raucous laughter.

Just after the Cavalier tried to intimidate him, Kelek reciprocated by turning the air around the adventurers into a plasma sphere!

Skylla responded with whispers in an obscene tongue more appropriate to the Outer Planes than the prime material, and her words were only intelligible to her targets.
Sheila heard, "I can see you! I can see all of you, filthy Thief!"
Diana heard, "You have no hope, no resolve, no focus, no strength!"

Kelek raised both hands and seemed to grab the very fabric of reality, pulling it aside to reveal whirling stars and cosmic debris! Shooting stars rained down to blast the adventurers both within the demiplane and without! The furniture, knick knacks, partition, doors, walls, and roof were obliterated but the floor and stairwell remained as a testament to Kelek's arcane warding.

Not to be outshone, Skylla weakened the dimensional barriers around the adventurers to manifest an accursed portion of the Abyss!

Kelek burns his last legendary resistance to counter the fear! He then uses a legendary action at the end of Eric's turn to cast Fireball on everyone! DC22 DEX saves all around or 22 fire damage; 1/2 damage on a save.

Skylla made her save but then I remembered she's immune to fear. She uses two legendary actions to cast Dark Speech on Sheila and Diana. Yup, she can see you, Thief! Both of you must make DC 22 Wisdom saving throws or take 11 psychic damage and be frightened of Skylla for 1 minute. You can repeat the save at the end of each of your turns, ending the effect on yourself on a success and thereby becoming immune to Dark Speech for 24 hours.

Now for their actions!

Kelek casts Meteor Swarm! Each creature in a 40-foot-radius sphere centered on each point you choose must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw. The sphere spreads around corners. A creature takes 57 fire damage and 86 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Skylla casts Abyssal Rift! She opens a momentary Abyssal rift within 120 feet of her. The rift is a 20-foot-radius sphere. Everyone must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw, taking 40 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Okay, rolling some saves - please let me know if I mess something up. Keep in mind, everyone within 10ft of Bobby has fire resistance.

#1: Dex save vs Fireball, DC 22: advantage and fire resistance (FAIL: Bobby takes 11 fire dmg)
#2: Dex save vs Meteor Swarm, DC 22: advantage and fire and bludgeoning resistance (FAIL: Bobby takes 29 fire, 43 bludgeoning dmg)
#3: Con save vs Abyssal Rift, DC 22 (FAIL: Bobby takes 40 necrotic damage)

Total: -123 hp (leaving him with 202/325hp

@annex Bobby is engaged in melee with Skylla. Do either of his reactions apply when she cast her spell?
- Melee attack if adjacent opponent attacks someone other than me
- Attack against me within my aura, Dex save or take 20 fire dmg

Sheila evades damage from the fireball. She takes 1/8 damage from the Meteor swarm's fire damage by using her reaction to Uncanny Dodge and getting fire resistance from Bobby and 1/4 bludgeoning damage.

She fails the Dark Speech and is frightened of Skylla.

Adding the Aura and Bond from Eric, Sheila makes the save against the Abyssal Rift for half damage.

Damage total 59 hit points

I am confused by the CON save for Abyssal Rift. All the info I have access to would indicate that ability would require a DEX save.

Having seen what wizards could do, Hank braced himself for the worst. Was his couatl still around? Its healing would be handy about now.

Checking for and reminding everyone, does Eric have a paladin aura for bonuses to save? Noted on the fire resistance from Bobby.

Edit: using one use of Indomitable to reroll the failed save (unless there's an Eric aura which would otherwise make it a success)
Saved against Fireball, with fire resistance, taking 6hp damage.
Failed against Meteor Swarm, with fire resistance, taking 29hp fire damage and 87hp bludgeoning.
Saved against Meteor Swarm thanks to Eric's bonus, taking 15hp fire damage and 44hp bludgeoning.
Saved against Abyssal Rift, taking 20hp necrotic.
85hp damage.

The DNDBeyond monster I've based Skylla on has Abyssal Rift as a CON save.
[ +- ] Eric's auras...
[ +- ] Eric's Peace Domain grants...
For the purposes of this last set of ridiculous damage, I can retcon him as having cast this bond over you all.
I think only Bobby would be out of the auras but he's doing very well even without them.
