Once there was a hero. She was a girl. She was a sprite. Everyone in the land loved her so—because she was so helpful! ‘Miss!,’ the villagers would shout. And then they would say something like ‘the key to my tavern fell down the rabbit hole. Would you, could you?’ And being the only villager tiny enough to fit the hole she would naturally reply—

OF COURSE I COULD. GLADLY, I WOULD

…but that was some time ago. For now the beloved Missy Girl has gone missing!

AND THERE ARE NO MORE CRIES FOR HELP
Kurumi, Pira and Thundra find themselves quite comfortably rested in an aromatic field of pink and yellow flowers. There is a rustle every now and then, and one might spy a cottontail—a scurrying critter not quite as quick as the eye!

But no ninjas are jumping out at our heroines. There are no new challengers looking for a fight or a dance-off. And no machines…

Well, maybe that pink thing in the sky is a machine. But it’s quite pretty and pink and probably no more a threat than the frolicking bunnies.
Pinkie is the finest, fastest and most advanced ship in the solar system! And Space Commander Casanova knows this because according to her GPS (Galactic Positioning System), there are no compatible fueling stations on this apparently primitive world. (…which is weird. Even DinoPlanet had a fueling station that was run by Caveman Carl.)

Perhaps if she follows that Terrain Vehicle below, the driver can give her directions.
There is no driver in the magical coach, so perhaps Princess Diamond should not be too surprised that the self-driving pumpkin-on-wheels took her diminutive friend to a strange land.

The MagiCoach was given clear instructions to take the girl to the fairyland from which she was missing.

RETURN THE MISSY GIRL? NOW WHY WOULD ANYBODY WANT TO DO *THAT*

The magic ends. Princess Diamond instinctively steps off the coach before it shrinks to a regular sized jack-o’-lantern. Sparkle is still inside.

By the time Commander Casanova has her boots on the ground, Sparkle is out of the pumpkin and fluttering at Princess Diamond’s side. And the three new arrivals find three other similarly mismatched ladies.

All six of you are standing in a flowery field. The sky is blue, the view is a lumpy patchwork of farmland. There might be a town, but right now the only people in sight are the six of you…!
OOC:
Let’s give you a moment to introduce yourselves…
Jun 11, 2024 7:28 pm
Thundra blinks and eyes the flowers suspiciously. "Were we not just in a city? How did we get here so quickly? This is very confusing!" she bellows.

When she sees the other three ladies in the clearing, she thumps her fist to her chest. "Well met! I am Thundra the Thicc! Can you tell us where we are and what transpires here?"
Jun 11, 2024 9:07 pm
"Oh, what is this fresh new saccharine nonsense?" Pira twirls her head around, watching the hopping rabbits, pastel flowers and carefree butterflies with a sour expression, before jumping onto her feet. "I tell you, this grandmaster is a hack, he must've sent us into a trap. Although even Shadowroo wouldn't be so ruthless as to get me stuck in this!" She indicates the entirety of their surroundings. then grumbles to herself: "Why not Amora, why me? Flowers and cute animals are so not my style."

She huffs, then follows Thundra's focus towards the three newcomers. A princess, a fairy... and a space captain? Well, one of these is not like the other. "Yeah, hi," she waves at them. "I'm Pira the Piranha, and this is Bitey," Pira presents a colorful piranha fish plush to the group. "Cool vehicles, ladies."

Oh, well this certainly bodes peril. Though, to be fair, everything in her life is peril, somehow and someway she will be thrust into danger barely escaping with her life. Even that time she was feeding pigeons in the park, yes even then she was nearly pecked to death by pigeons.

This Pira girl, in fact, looked exactly like a peril but, she wasn’t attacking yet. So, Diamond did what she did best and that was a Princess greeting. "Well hello Thundra and Pira. I am Princess Diamond and my companion is the inestimable Sparkle. It’s so nice to meet new people, I hope we can be friends." She titters in an absent and happy way.

Commander Casanova stands nearby at first, pressing glowing buttons on her wrist communicator. It's possible that the space squid's nefarious schemes involved him taking all the fuelling stations away, since that's exactly the kind of trick he pulled to stop Space Command. For some reason her scanner doesn't seem to pick up any hostile lifeforms or traces of Gnar Gnar though, and so she turns to these other arrivals.

Their grasp of intelligent speech, though unsurprising given Carl's ability, takes her by surprise. She listens carefully as they introduce themselves, before she adds her own introduction.

"Hello there! I am Kurumi." she introduces herself. Although the field is pleasing to the eye, there is no sight of a dance hall in sight. Although she was sure she had seen a happy lady that was singing and dancing in a flower field somewhere...

The rustling in the flowers grows quieter, quieter, silent… and though most of our heroines cannot spy them, Casanova’s readings do not detect the creatures as hostile.

Sparkle is the exception. Her little fey eyes see past the many individual stems. She can barely make out the faces, but two critters in particular seem to be hanging onto every word. When Princess Diamond introduces the fairy by name, the creatures look at each other. Then they focus on the fairy, waiting, waiting… and finally, before she can speak, they jump out.

"MISSY GIRRRRLLL!!" both shout.

One creature is a yellow bunny with a pink tail. Casanova’s instrument identifies her as a Blabbit. The other is a mushroom-person with a big toothy grin. He is identified as a Munchroom.

"It’s gotta be you," Blabbit goes on, "even if you’re a lot sparklier than you used to be!"

"PURDY SPARKLES!" Munchroom exclaims.

"And your hair is fluffier!"

"PURDY FLUFFY!" Munchroom twirls about, releasing several spores from his polka-dotted head. But none of the spores spray anyone other than Blabbit, who seems mildly annoyed but otherwise unaffected.

"You even look a little younger, if you don’t mind my saying so."

"PURDY MIIIIIIIINNNNND!!!" Munchroom does a headspin, circling about our heroines without colliding with anyone.

Blabbit just ignores him. She asks Sparkle, "So, things’ll be like before again, right?" Her gaze rises and shifts, meeting the eyes of the other heroines.
Jun 16, 2024 2:16 pm
Pira conspicuously backs away from the cloud of spores released by the mushroom creature and watches the two newcomers from a safe distance. She can probably wrestle with a yellow cottontail and an overgrown fungus, but poisons are a different thing, and as a jungle-dweller she knows not to mess with weird plant spores.

"Hold on, hold your shroom veils and fluffy tails, what are you two even talking about?" She interjects as the rabbit makes doe-eyes at the sparkling fairly. "This ain't no Missy Girl, this is Sparkle! And don't you think you're being weird, just popping out of the bushes like this without even an introduction and starting to badger a random bystander?"

Pira crosses her arms. "This lady with cool tech," she gestures at the space commander, "popped out of a whole spaceship, and she still offered an introduction! At least I think she did; either that, or she told us to clap for her sunglasses.... Anyway, whoever this Missy Girl is, she'd be ashamed!" Pira eyes the rabbit and the mushroom and then grins at them, slightly menacingly. "Come on, tell us what's going on and maybe we'll help you find your missing friend."
Jun 17, 2024 1:51 am
The critters look at each other, then back at Pira. They lower their heads in shame.

"Oh, you’re probably right," Blabbit says.

"PURDY RIGHT," Munchroom agrees.

And while individual monster NPCs don’t normally have any names but their creature names, Blabbit makes an intro so she will no longer be perceived as weird. "I’m A. Blabbit, and this is my associate, best friend and workout partner, A. Munchroom."

"CALL ME A.!" Munchroom adds, even though he doesn’t mind being perceived as weird.

"Also, your spaceship-driver friend introduced herself as Space Commander Casanova."

"YOU FROM OTHER PLANET?" A. Munchroom points a fungal finger at Casanova. "SHE ASK YOU THIS," he explains.
Quote:
Pira eyes the rabbit and the mushroom and then grins at them, slightly menacingly. "Come on, tell us what's going on and maybe we'll help you find your missing friend."
A. Blabbit confesses, "We didn’t really know Missy Girl very well. If we did, y’know.. we wouldn’t have mistaken Sparkle for her."

"ALL THE VILLAGER KNOW!"

"Yes, they do know Missy Girl very, very well! You can go to the village. Let’s see… you go a mile-point-three south by southwest until you get to the intersection of Brambletromp Street and Dustistix Avenue…"

A. Lunchroom interrupts, "I KNOW SHORTCUT!"
OOC:
You can keep talking here, follow Blabbit’s directions to the village, or take Munchroom’s shortcut.
Jun 17, 2024 10:20 am
Casanova nods when Pira commends her attempt at an introduction. She'd done her best, it isn't easy being in her shoes. She has concerns though, and while she thinks of ways to voice her questions the conversation seems to move on without her. When she rejoins, it seems they've made a decision to go to a village and A. Munchroom is being noisy. Characteristically, Casanvoa has come to know, which is endearing for now.

She stares long and hard at the Munchroom, then glances at Pira and shakes her head.

Kurumi stands flabbergasted. She still has lot to process, even if she used to be a main heroine. (she has a hunch that she was a main heroine but she never confirmed it)
Jun 17, 2024 2:20 pm
"Neat, I'm Pira the Piranha, nice to meet you and all that," Pira replies to the two locals, before glancing thoughtfully between them and the space commander; Casanova, apparently. "You two can translate gestures even when it comes to names? That's useful. And as for the planet question, Commander Casanova, I'm from Earth. One of the Earths, considering alternate universes! And you probably have a better idea about whether we're currently on any of them or not. Although something tells me that we are not. Way too few kangaroos."

She then turns back to address A. Blabbit and A. Munchroom again. "So, this Missy Girl person looks like Sparkle, except less sparkly and fluffy? Where'd you seen her last? And if you don't know her well, why do you think she's missing and not just went out on a picnic or something? This land looks like it'd be great for the picnic stuff."

"And yeah, I agree with the Commander, not sure taking a shortcut is going to be wise." She waves at the meadows around them. "Plus, might as well do some reconnaissance on the way! Survey the new surroundings!"
OOC:

"I am terribly sorry Commander Casanova is that follow the bunny or think about a blonde haired girl? I mean probably better to follow the bunny in any case. Especially since not making a choice can also have terrible consequences. I remember once I stood still and an entire cliff collapsed around me."

She pauses and then says, "Well maybe it’s not bad after all if I had moved then I might’ve fallen to my death. Honestly it’s up to you nice ladies if you want to move forward or not."
Jun 18, 2024 12:09 am
A. Blabbit loves to talk, and going the long way means talking more, so she starts hopping when people are ready to move. (She’s also content to stay still and talk if the ground starts to crack all around!)

"Casanova, Pira, you both asked me about Missy Girl. Who is she? The hero of the land! She can find your lost coach keys, order a pizza for you when Messy Pidge the Messenger Pigeon gets the pineapple kind, or she can cast her green mist on monsters—"

A. Munchroom’s eyes widen in horror. "GREEN MIST! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA…!" He head spins so fast he drills his way underground, apparently taking his shortcut to Outta Here.

And A. Blabbit pauses.

"Yeah, um, full disclosure. A. Munchroom and I were among the monsters. But I don’t hold a grudge or anything. The mist just sent me home to my husband and twenty-nine children. And really, once she left the land I realized how wrong we were to attack her.

"Missy Girl was a sweet, lovable fairy who helped everyone. And all she ever got in return was random food."
When Pira asks how she knows for sure, A. Blabbit responds, "You’ll know for sure she’s Real Gone when you get to the village.

"I think she left because of me,"
she goes on, voice heavy with remorse. "Not like me personally, but all the other Blabbits and Munchrooms, and the Zebrats and the Sickamore Bees, and those pessimistic Toucan’ts always throwing their half empty glasses at her. It’s all our faults. Especially the Toucan’ts’."
Jun 20, 2024 8:13 am
Casanova nods as they walk, typing away on her wrist computer and making notes. "Green Mist" good for resolving confrontations. Toucan'ts at fault.

She's curious to find out what kind of information they'll find at the village, and how it'll help the mission. The mission which she assumes is to find Missy Girl, since her missions always appear out of nowhere after conversations. Was Central hearing these details and formulating her objectives, or was it something else. Maybe it came from the same place as the soundtracks, or the raider bots.

A. Blabbit talks a lot without saying much, though many other monsters may have answered Casanova’s internalized question about where music comes from. As our heroines take the long walk to the village, Beardos and Kitty-Caterwauls sing happily as they frolic in the flora!
[ +- ] Into the Thick of It
Smooth McGroove mix
As the monsters sing, A. Blabbit tells you all about The Village of Cititon. Mayor Senile has been re-elected for the 14th consecutive term, Bart Ender runs the local tavern, affectionately called ‘Pub,’ located next to ‘Shop’ on the intersection of Main Street and Main Avenue.

She then goes on a wild tangent about ladies’ fashion, despite only wearing a pink ribbon on her cottonny tail. This leads to another tangent on Blabbit fashion. Apparently girl-bunnies wear ribbons and boy-bunnies wear tophats. It’s the only short tangent in A. Blabbit’s incessant monologue.

At the border of The Village of Cititon, A. Blabbit apologizes to Casanova.

"I never did answer your question, but I don’t have any idea where Missy Girl might have gone. But I think the villagers will be able to—eep!"

She quickly dives into a rabbit hole. It’s a black circle that opens below her dive, then shrinks to a black dot and disappears once A. Blabbit is underground.

You see a man in a straw hat and blue overalls. He’s leaning on a shovel. He stares at the ground where the Blabbit escaped.

"Durn, them critters sure do know a lot about making holes. Dig Doug’s the name. Uh… welcome to Cititon. Would you like to grab a bite at Pub or buy a new outfit at Shop? I’d recommend staying at Inn, but I don’t see the point since none of you are dead."
Jun 24, 2024 7:16 pm
It takes all of Pira's composure not to groan as the talkative rabbit critter does unnecessary exposition at them for the whole duration of the way to the village. Back home, Dr. Science Guy would do the same thing every time anyone at all would visit him, and this man Pira once tried to feed to her piranhas - needless to say, she does not work well with chatterbox folks. But she's *good* now, she can't be threatening a cute bunny with fanged fish-themed demise. Even if she also really doesn't need to know that much about the local settlement and its suspiciously immortal mayor.

At least A. Blabbit eventually moves onto fashion and appears to actually display a good sense of style, which prompts Piranha to compliment her ribbon and chime in with a few suggestions for additional accessories; like a scarf to balance out the attire, or perhaps a cute flower necklace. She also comments that Blabbits should expand their horizons and change the fashion trends to be more uniform - in Pira's honest opinion, which she enthusiastically voices, top hats are hot and should be universal.

Dig Doug, on the other hand, decidedly does not look like a person invested in fashion, unless said fashion is farmer casual. However, he seems like a person who is a villager, and thus might have information.

"We'll make sure to swing by the pub once we're dead, I'm sure they have the best spirits," she cheerfully replies to Doug, then gets closer to him and whispers conspiratorially. "Hey, do you by chance know a person going by Missy Girl? A fairy, little less sparklier than her," Pira motions to Sparkle, "gets food around here. Maybe also sings? We're looking for her on behalf of an independent contractor. Erm, quest-giver."

Dig Doug replies, "You must be referring to Bob Questgiver. Because he’s the only Questgiver who gives quests. Penelope Questgiver and the kids just make pottery at home. They would probably do other things if Hero Sword Guy didn’t keep going into people’s homes to smash pots. He steals the homeowners’ gems too. He’s kind of a jerk.

"Yeah, Missy Girl was great. Bob almost got Hero Sword Guy to accept the quest to find her. I guess he got a couple of leads, but then he realized that completing the quest means she’ll be the hero of the land again, and he’ll lose his gig."

THESE HEROIC GIRLS COULD SEEK BOB AT PUB, OR THEY COULD SEARCH THE VILLAGE FOR HERO SWORD GUY

Dig Doug seems to suddenly remember something. "Oh yeah… Bob’s at Pub if you got any questions about the quest, or you can probably find Hero Sword Guy somewhere in the residential area. We can’t get rid of that—"

LANG-U-AGE, DOUG! THERE ARE HEROINES PRESENT

Doug holds his hat in his hands. "Forgive me, Miss. Ladies," he says humbly.
Jun 25, 2024 8:28 am
Given her experiences with the other members of star command, and how long it took Casanova to become a Space Commander, she isn't too interested in meeting Hero Sword Guy. Others in her game, in the systems numbered 1 or 2, tended to be Hero Gun Guys who were so definitively insufferable. They only got the job done half the time before they got betrayed by their most trusted comrade too, but they never saw it coming.

No, if she wanted to deal with anyone it'd be the people at Central who sat behind the desks and watched it all happen knowing the betrayal was coming and cringing as they had to enable it. She felt sorry for them, because they were always nice people and yet they had no power over the Hero Gun Guy's choice of friends.

So Bob it would be, since he seemed the right type...
Jun 25, 2024 12:10 pm
Kurumi will want to go to the Pub too. She does not likes the Hero Sword Guy from what she hears. And she is a bit afraid of swords. She prefers blunt instuments, like a mic drop. She blushes a bit when she does a bad thought.
Jun 25, 2024 12:26 pm
"Hero Sword Guy sounds very kickable, and I've been itching for a good brawl which does not involve having to watch out for random civilians." Pira looks around, as if expecting the much-maligned pottery breaker to appear before them any moment, and grins mischievously. "Think he'd be up for a fight this time of the day? Might as well go show the guy what happens when one is continuously being a derriere." She cracks her knuckles. "Get those leads out of him too, I guess."

She looks over at Casanova, trying to determine what the commander is planning, then at the other girls."We can split, right? It's not like a linear party thing? I'll do awful at people networking anyway, trust me." She bounces on her heels a little; how she manages this feat, no one will ever know. "I'll just go beat the guy up really quick and rejoin you at the pub later! Unless any of you want to join in on the fun?"

"Hero Sword guy seems like the type we might want to talk to. I’ll head off with miss Pirahna and try to avoid the inevitable pub brawl that always seems to happen. Last time the roof nearly collapsed on me." She goes with Pirahna figuring that if the other girl and the Hero Sword guy fight then Princess Diamond might only need to avoid a few stabs or just stay back.
Jun 25, 2024 3:26 pm
"Wait, aren't you a princess? It sounds like your kingdom can really invest in some bodyguards to deal with stuff like this. Or, you know, better structural integrity for the buildings." Pira moves closer to Diamond and drapes her arm over the princess's shoulder with unwarranted familiarity. "No sweat, I'll make sure the only brawls we get in are the intended ones! Which is punching the Hero Guy in the teeth!"
Jun 25, 2024 3:47 pm
SPLITTING THE PARTY? OH, I LIKE THIS

Kurumi and Casanova both head to Pub. In side, you see Bart Ender slinging drinks down the bar. Foamy mugs slide easy without spilling. Johnny Piano plays a tune.
[ +- ] Oh, Soozy Girl
And at one of the tables there are four men playing cards. They are Wild Bill Cardshark, Sleeve Ace, Lenny Loserhand and Bob Questgiver. So far Lenny Loserhand is winning, but Chatty Cathy bets Bill will turn it around.

There are other partrons in this busy place, but Chatty Cathy’s overhead expositional blathering doesn’t mention any of them, so they’re probably not important to the Missy Girl quest our heroines are unofficially already on.

Pira and Princess Diamond walk about town. Thundra and Sparkle follow, but you all overhear a couple arguing next to a coach parked next to a sewer grating.

The woman is giving the man an I-told-you-so. Apparently, he dropped the keys to his coach through the grate and now they can’t open the door.

Sparkle can easily fit down the grating. Thundra stands by, ready to rip the door off the carriage, if the key is too lost or gross or heavy for a fairy to carry.

Pira and Princess Diamond would probably be in a socially awkward situation (or grave danger—the horses could gallop off with the locked carriage, make a J-turn, and run the princess over!), but…

There’s a clattering. A shattering! It’s all coming from the farmhouse across the street. On the front porch, there’s a woman in a sun hat. She looks mildly peeved.
Jun 25, 2024 4:29 pm
She shakes her head swiftly, "Not body guards again. Whenever a dragon, witch, ogre king, or the like comes and kidnaps me the bodyguard is inevitably killed horribly as if to emphasize just how dangerous things are."

She adds with a small pout, "It might just be me. No one else in the kingdom seems to always be near death nearly every day. Jinkies! I’m surprised we haven’t had to dodge some looming disaster so far. Usually something deadly has happened by now…"
Jun 25, 2024 5:20 pm
"Yikes, guess I see your point. Maybe a bodyguard who can't perish, then? You know, a robot, or an artificial intelligence, or a cyborg kangaroo from outer space... Hey, maybe I can convince that blasted Four-Headed Sage from my homeland to change professions, they're literally indestructible. Might even beat your rotten luck!" Pira muses as they walk down the street. "Or lock it permanently in a paradox. Immovable object, unstoppable force, all that fun stuff."

She grumbles a little as they are all distracted by the carriage, but perks up upon hearing the sounds of destruction. "Yo, lady!" Pira waves at the woman in the sun hat and jogs towards her, filled with an enthusiasm for a potential fight. "Ey-ey-ey-ey, what's going on?"

The Questgivers’ Farmhouse
The woman introduces herself as "Penelope Questgiver.

"That Hero Sword Guy’s in the barn again."
She points to a rather large and ominous corn maze that is surely—

—wrought with unspeakable perils!

—the fastest way to that sword boy who obviously deserves a punch!

"I’m just waiting here so I can give him my very strong opinion when he finally gets bored and leaves."

*CRASH!*
*TINKLE!*
*SMASH!*
Penelope sighs at the distant sounds of destruction. "Does that boy have any idea how many hours it takes to make just one pot?"
Jun 26, 2024 8:12 am
Casanova scans the room with her... scanner. It's obsessional, it's not like she even thinks there'd be any danger here worth scanning and yet something compels her to scan a new location each time she enters one. Waving the weird feeling away, she glances Kurumi, in case she wants to take point. Given her lack of ability to speak, Cas doesn't think she's the best pick for negotiations after all, but she's willing to take the chance.
Jun 26, 2024 6:26 pm
She looks at the corn maze and then Pirahna and says, "See, that maze right there. I just knew it. Well, we better get this over with. Just promise you won't die in a horrible fashion just to prove how dangerous things are okay Pira?"

She heads in knowing she's going to have to make quick decisions.

Casanova has this funny feeling the villagers can understand her.
SO CAN I
OOC:
Bart Ender is tending Bar, and Bob Questgiver is at a table playing cards with three other men named Wild Bill Cardshark, Sleeve Ace and Lenny Loserhand. Feel free to strike a conversation with any of them.

Johnny Piano and Chatty Cathy are fair game too, I suppose, since I named them. Kurumi can probably get Johnny to play a different song, if she wants.

YE CORN MAZE
Princess Diamond sees some tumbleweed tumbling by. Upon closer inspection, they are THORNED tumbleweed. One… two… three… one… two… three… there are three intersections where tumbleweeds pass at regular intervals. It should be very easy to just walk forward and time one’s steps—

When Kurumi doesn't respond, and the feeling of being understood grows, Casanova approaches the bar. At first she plays it cool until she catches Bart Ender's attention, then she asks him a question.

Kurumi notices that everyone at the table is playing some kind of game with cards that have different symbols on them.
https://i.imgur.com/2bISju3.jpeg
Lenny Loserhand looks excited when he draws a card with a coin on it, but then his tell (steam puffs coming out of his ears) makes it apparent he was dissatisfied. At the end of the hand, you see that he had drawn The Ten of Coins with three Twenties of Coins. That doesn’t seem bad until Wild Bill Cardshark plays five Stars. "All-Star!" he declares. "Double Bonus!!"

"Not again," bemoans Sleeve Ace, whose hand included four Ones of Up.

Bob Questgiver has five different symbols on his cards. He doesn’t seem too upset as he slides not one, but two peanuts across the table. "Fair and square, Bill," he says good-naturedly.

Next hand, Bill’s luck continues to defy the law of averages. Lenny’s too, in the sense that his hands are always good but never the best. Sleeve Ace always has at least a pair of Ones of Up, but there aren’t cards up his sleeve. He draws them honestly. They all do.

Bob’s hands always show all five symbols. The coin card is sometimes the Ten of Coins, sometimes the Twenty.

They don’t seem to mind having an audience to their game. Bill seems to especially like having one more person witness his winning streak.
Bart replies to Casanova, "Happy to oblige, Miss."

Bart goes on, "As for finding someone, I’m afraid I’m not the best at it. The only missing person here’s Missy Girl, and I hear a lot… but I don’t quite believe it all."

He doesn’t seem like he’s going to be much help. When he mentions places a fairy could be ("down a well, a rabbit hole, one o’ them really narrow green pipes…"), he’s really just listing places a fairy could fit.

He stops doing that when another customer comes up to the bar, wearing a guard’s uniform. With a look of desperation he orders "The usual." Instead of a foamy mug, Bart gets a bottle. The liquid he pours into the guardsman’s glass is bright green.

Giant tumble weed, she’s somehow not surprised. It had been nearly a full hour since she’d been in danger last not a record since she sometimes got a full six hours of sleep. Still, for time without danger while she was awake it was pretty good. Now, all she had to do was avoid death, yet again.

"Ha, no corn maze can handle my awesomeness!" Pira declares in response to Princess Diamond, just before their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of a giant tumbleweed. It miraculously rolls around the fighter herself and then heads straight for Her Royal Highness - which is completely uncalled for, in Piranha's opinion! And besides, if there is one thing to do with a ball...

"Kick time!" She explains happily, and goes straight for the tumbleweed. Ball-shaped objects love being kicked, and it will also give Pira a chance to prove that she can rescue Diamond if needed. Not that she's looking to be hired as a bodyguard, but she did work as a henchwoman before... It's nice to check if she still has the skills for it!

Princess Diamond dodges the giant tumbleweed by diving into a haystack! (She also finds the needle in the haystack mid-jump, and twists to avoid being poked by its poisonous tip!)

Pira gives the tumbleweed a solid kick! It veers off course, crashing through the corn maze walls!

When the dust is clear, our heroines have a direct path to the barn.

But… there is a man made of straw wielding a pitchfork—obviously not just a scarecrow!

THE YELLOW KNIGHT
The scarecrow pivots on its pole, a crazed jagged grin painted on its burlap face. Buttons for eyes stare into our heroines’ souls.

It takes its pitchfork and thrusts it downward, poking the ground. "Hoo, haw, ha, haaaa!" Crows rise from the dirt, black flames trailing from their wings. "Hoo, hah, tee heeeee!" Its pitchfork scares more flaming crows into the air!

"Did you just kick that?" Sure she had seen Pira kick the tumble weed but, at the same time, she was absolutely stunned that it had happened. No one, had ever saved her before!

She looked over at Pira and tiny hearts rose above Princess Diamond’s head. Clearly this was someone important and powerful enough to be considered by the Princess excepting, of course, that Pira was a girl and something about hereditary rule could be a problem. The hearts faded away but, Diamond wasn’t entirely done with her thoughts yet.

The scarecrow meant the Princess had to use her special wand. The wand had a little red button on it that she could press in just such a situation. Magic coursed through Diamond and then out of the wand, a rain of confetti blasted into the face of her foes. That would keep them busy while she escaped!

The new arrival was a thankful, and welcome, distraction from Casanova's attempts to figure out how to drink without a mouth. She'd managed it a few times back at home, but she'd always had the members of Space Command around which seemed to make it work. Weirdly, it didn't seem to work with the barkeep.

She looked the guard up and down, noting his desperation, and tried to figure out the cause. If she could be subtle enough he'd say it to the barkeep and not notice her listening in, otherwise she'd just ask.

"You bet I did!" Pyra beams at Princess Diamond, mischievous twinkles appearing in her eyes as she notices the Royal Highness's halo of tiny hearts. "No dangers shall befall you while Pira is here! Tumbleweeds, bar brawls or... is that a burning scarecrow?!" She pivots on her heels towards the new opponent. Which is so going to get kicked for intruding upon her attempt to flex! "Yo, pal, I appreciate the jolliness and the theatrics, but ease up on the fire hazard, will you?"

The crows ca-caw around, trying to poke her with their beaks, and Pira considers kicking them - but that feels wrong. Besides, Princesses like birds, right? Diamond might not appreciate the avian violence more serious than the confetti. Which means...

"Hiya!" With a loud exclamation, Pira charges ahead and kicks the scarecrow's pitchfork instead!

With Thundra’s uncanny ability to walk through a corn maze in a straight line, she, Pira and the Princess can avoid the Manure Men, the ten-foot pole with a burlap horse-head on one end and a three-woman-saddle in the middle, and a jug of moonshine labeled DRINK ME.

Eventually, a Thundra-shaped hole in the cornstalk wall (which retains its shape even when tops of stalks are severed with nothing to hold them up) reveals the chicken coop. The breaking of clay pots and bok-bokking of chickens is heard inside.

METAL CHICKEN DANCE
A very shiny black beak (large enough to swallow a person whole!) protrudes from the window of the chicken coop—and the beak exhales FIRE!!!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The corn wall starts to POP POP POP—and in seconds, there is only popcorn and ash separating our heroines from the oversized chicken in the notably-less-oversized coop.

Our heroines can try to tell it to kneel, but from the way the flames reflect off the beak and the legs, it’s apparent that the chicken is made of iron. Does being made of metal change things?

One change is certain—the chicken’s attention is on our heroines. It’s charging forward! The only disadvantage to its size is that one can easily sense the danger faster than the creature can get to her!

Well she really ought to have expected this. Chickens were usually rather tame animals but, of course, this one must be. "What ruffian abused this giant chicken so much that it responds to our mere presence with violence and flame?"

It wasn’t the chicken’s fault though and she had just the speech for everyone. "Pira, and my new friend Thundra we must understand the poor creature. Clearly the sword person has greatly angered this creature and it has been abused by its owner into being a violent and flame breathing fowl creature. But, it doesn’t have to be. Giant chicken you can choose to be good and kind. You can choose to do what regular chickens do and eat grains and maybe large worms then lay eggs. Casanova's training kicks in as soon as the warning comes. She turns and takes stock of the situation, her hand flicking the protective strap of her phaser gun. She always has it switched to stun just in case anyway, but with these were-dogs more than ever she won't even think of switching the setting. Even still, as she watches Kurumi dancing across the room to try and calm them an idea comes to her mind.

Excitable dogs tend to like a certain game. She looks around for the closest ball or stick shaped object she can find, and settles on breaking a stool leg which she promises to repay later. With a roll she puts herself between Kurumi, in case the plan doesn't work, and the momentarily mesmerized dogs. She holds the stick up and shakes it around for them to follow before throwing it out the window and pointing after it dramatically.

Casanova blinks, taken aback by the situation. Sure she'd seen weirder skies, but dance parties weren't exactly a common place in Space Command. She really didn't have dancing shoes either, for that matter. She could make a ship dance around plasma bolts if that's what the situation called for, but actual dancing was another case entirely.

But the ball bumping into her boots distracts her, along with the puppy-dog eyed tennis girls. Casanova has never played tennis, but she can recognise the outfits at least. It reminded her of one of those special edition situations she'd been in now and then, but usually they ended up as some kind of beach sport instead. Well, not that tennis was what the girl wants, but... yeah.

Nodding, Casanova flicks the ball up into her hand with impressive football skills before readying herself to pitch it far away from the dance fight!

While diplomacy is not Pira’s thing, she and Thundra fully support the Princess. And it seems Princess Diamond’s words are… somewhat effective.

The giant chicken remains gigantic. And—

"🔥BA🔥GAWK🔥"

—she still breathes fire, but at least has the courtesy to aim it well over our heroines’ heads.

But the egg-laying suggestion? The giant chicken takes that suggestion to heart, albeit an oversized metal heart that pumps fire. Anyway, she takes the suggestion to furnace, and…

"🔥BA🔥GAWK🔥"
🥚

…she lays an enormous metal egg. And then she flies away, chicken coop and all.

As for the egg…

It explodes, of course. And once the smoke clears, our heroines find themselves peering down into some sort of underground lair.

Oh wow… not one, but TWO supers.
The Packson Five is down to the Packson ONE, as all four back-up performers drop their jaws at the sight of Kurumi’s super-smooth moves.

Most of the fans have already run off after the tennis ball. The only two left are an elderly couple. The old man likes Casanova’s game, so he throws his cane and tells his wife, "Retch!" She replies, "Ret it roarself!" and the two walk off together hand in hand toward the cane.

Richael Packson turns to Kurumi. "This dance-off is a foregone conclusion. I’m outclassed. If you got a fan club, sign me up!"

The twelve-minute night comes to an end, and while Richael Packson remains a dog-person, the rest of the villagers revert to their normal selves.

Bob Questgiver is looking sheepish (but not sheepdoggish) as he returns with a barstool leg in his mouth. He lets it fall from his mouth as casually and dignified as he can muster, then tells our heroines, "Without Missy Girl, I’m a Questgiver in name only. You might find our little green fairy if you follow the Polygon Trail.

"There’s a large chicken coop on my prop…er…ty…"

He looks up, and notices his chicken coop is flying away, thanks to his oversized chicken.

"Well… there’s a secret door under where the coop was, anyway. From there you can head to The Underworld and hopefully find our beloved green fairy."

Lenny Loserhand gives Bob a look. "Don’t you think you’re being a bit presumptuous? She probably just wanted to join our card game."

The sun is over the horizon and everything in the Village of Cititon is returning to normal. The corn maze is sprouting up into place, and Bob and Penelope’s giant iron hen is making a U-turn and flying her coop home.

The underground lair is still accessible, but the way days and nights work in this land leads our heroines to believe it won’t be accessible for long.

Sleeve Ace folds his arms as Chatty Cathy wraps up yet another exposition. "C’mon, Cathy. Those ladies woulda figured that out."

"Do they know Hero Sword Guy is down there?"

"The whole village knows, thanks to you."

"You’re welcome."

And what do you mean village is back to normal, since when it wasn't? I swear, these omnipotent beings always expect you to know the meta stuff."

Her mood seems to improve slightly when she sees their other companion in the distance, and Pira waves enthusiastically at Kurumi and Casanova. "Hey, Dance Queen, Space Commander, you looking fresh! She looks over at Pira and says, "Huh, yeah why didn't the chicken just burn him or something? Why send him into the deep foreboding cry...oh...right...never mind. Yep, it was her, her bad luck had clearly rubbed off on this quest. Maybe without her the other two could have saved Sword Guy already. Was she just ruining their mojo by being here?

No, she was here for a reason and that was to help people...and maybe find a pretty...no, no just here to help people. So, what if she never liked Hunky Hunkerson, Randolph Muscles, or Phillip Anaconda. Pira, noticing Diamond looking her way, immediately flexes her arms and poses stylishly. It's one of her best poses, the one she does whenever the tournament announcer declares which fighters are going to clash; there is no way the princess will not be impressed! She even winks, for extra effect. Or is that overdoing it? Regardless, the pose is grandiose, and her suit must look especially flattering in the combination of sunlight and torchlight!

"Dancing?" After watching Diamond for a moment, Piranha tilts her head at Kurumi. "Did you just dance yet another boss into submission? You should totally join the tournament, I'm pretty sure we don't have any dancers yet. You'll rock it!"

"Yes I did, it was a whole kennel too. Thanks for the kind words Pira. So what now? Do we enter the hole? I do feel like a certain Alice..." she says and tries to remember the Alice girl. Was she from another dance club? Kurumi feels refreshed with the root beer she drank at the bar although she would prefer it with some vanilla ice cream.
Jul 10, 2024 10:13 am
"Of course we enter the hole! Onwards!" Thundra declares, leading the way down the steps. Once at the bottom, she looks at both doors. "Let us go the path of the broken vases. Perhaps we will find what broke them, and kick its butt!"

The Pottíman Training Grounds

Our heroines stay together and they follow the trail of broken pottery. The room they enter is plain, rectangular, devoid of any treasure chest or choice of direction—

SLAM!

—thanks to a door slamming shut, blocking off the return trip. It’s a cage door with bars spaced just enough for a fairy to slip through, but the bars are sharply barbed, teeming with rust and filth and little bugs or maybe those are shadow-wisps. Trying to force these doors open seems like a really bad idea.

But the way to the next room remains open, and as our heroines undoubtedly move as carefully as they can so as not to rush into any traps—

—the entire room tilts (or perhaps gravity itself)! Our heroines slide across the room and fall in the dark, landing on their bottoms!

There are some sounds of stone sliding against stone. Then an inferno lights behind the girls! Mirrors about the ceiling reflect the flames and bathe the room in golden light. And the statues about the room? Their glassy eyes reflect the fire as well. They seem drawn to the flame, for a hopeful moment, like moths.

But you know it’s you they’re after.

Casanova had been following along in silence, which in the circumstances wasn't unusual for her. What was unusual was going underground. She never really did on any of her missions; she went into buildings or through spaceships so being inside wasn't a big deal, but descending below earth level didn't sit right with her. She was meant to go upwards to space, not downwards.

Whatever the case, she chewed her gum with consternation and regretted her choice in sunglasses (but was too stubborn to take them off) and no one was surprised when the room tilted and took her by surprise...

The moment she lands, she rolls into a crouched position with her phaser gun in hand. She glances at the newfound enemies and wonders if the phaser blasts will have any affect on earth as she shoots to stun.

When the room floor tilts and coughs them up into the abyss, Pira immediately realigns herself in the air and lands with a flourish. The tournament did this sometimes, for especially fancy battles - area hazards, changes in the terrain, all the good fun stuff. There was even a combatant who dragged opponents into the fiery underground dimension, a little like this one except with more flames. And bones. Cool guy.

"Why must we enter the hole? We always find this," Piranha gestures towards the clay figures as they surround the group, "in the hole! Yes, we only have a sample of like two, but it's a pattern, don't you think? Hey, clay guys, we're looking for a pot-breaking guy, you seen him?!"

As the statues reply with only cracking and stomping and mechanical clicks, she sighs and cracks her knuckles. "Okay then, brawl time, then asking questions!" Pira eyes the walking clay, then grins and takes a running start, leaping right over the pot beings and trying to land on one of their heads! "Fish Leap!"

She’d been distracted there for a moment. What by? Something, it wasn’t Pira flexing or anything like that. She hadn’t even had a chance to make a reply to her because the princess had been so distracted. Sun in her eyes?

In any case, she’d fallen and been rolled around, somehow her outfit tore on a shoulder revealing some skin. Then these pottery people were clearly planning terrible violence. Pira leaped to attack and Thundra did as well. Usually this is where she ran some more or pulled out her magic wand. That was it! She had just the spell…

She held her wand high, and recited the ancient words, "Pom, Pom, Power!" Her outfit began to transform in a whirlwind of spackles and pale flesh. Not quite showing anything and yet hinting at it. When the twirl ended she was wearing an extra short white skirt with blue ruffles, a blue kerchief around her back and keeping her decent while a tiny white vest went around her back and ended in her front where it clearly didn’t quite fit. In her hands were two bright pom poms one red and the other green. She shook them as she chanted, "Go Pira, Go Thundra! We’re on the attack! Go Pira, Go Thundra, nothing’s holding you back! You’re green and red together in class! Together we know this pottery you’ll smash! Gooo Team!" An explosion of fireworks went off behind her as she did a flip, into a somersault, then landed into a split holding up the Pom poms and shaking them.

Thundra smashes one Pottíman with such ease she cleaves right through and smashes another! Casanova’s phaser is apparently set to Shatter! (If she checks, it IS set to Stun. She also detects no life readings among the Pottímen, so she’s certain that she isn’t taking a life. Space Commanders tend to know this sort of thing.)

Pira’s fish leap throws a Pottíman off balance, and while Kurumi is staggering a little (probably from the "root" beer), Princess Diamond’s cheers bolster our heroines!

But most of the soldiers are still attacking!!!

Upon hearing a sudden cheerleader chant behind her, Pira can't help but twirl around on the head of the clay man so she can look back. She then promptly does a double take in astonishment, before whooping and raising her fist into the air. "Oh yeah, go team us!" Inspired by the performance - and especially by the split! - she also makes an appropriately heroic pose atop the walking pottery, flames out-of-nowhere blazing behind her for a moment. "Let's show them the power of" Pira briefly pauses, "coordinated fighting dance!"

She jumps off the clay heads, turns in the air, lands on her hands onto yet another head and hits other two clay men with her heels - just in the rhythm of Her Highness's cheers! Then she cartwheels towards Thundra, posing back-to-back with her for a moment, leaps dramatically over one of Casanova's shots and finally lands next to Kurumi, covering her while the dancer seems to be having root beer-related issues. "Hiya! I'm liking this new musical approach!"

Princess Diamond continues her cheerleading for her team. Her Pom Poms shake as she sings out a fight song. "She’s Thundra the Thicc she’ll punch you until you’re sick. She’s Pira the Pirahna she’ll punch you until you cry for momma. Together they fight this evil pottery. With every punch a smashing you will see. With my cheering I’ll lead them on to victory. Goooo Team!"

She shakes her Pom Poms and dances in tune to the music making a spectacle for herself and, of course, for any players if there were some. Diamond is used to fighting this way, her first adventure when she first turned eighteen and was given her magic wand she defeated enemies by summoning fish, tap dancing, and eating a giant cake. Magic was just like this sometimes and after three big adventures she was just used to it now.

Compared to a high pace space battle, fighting slow moving pottery people isn't a significant issue for the gallant Space Commander, and she ducks and moves while placing shots to shatter stone... or, well, clay. It still feels surreal, and the constant mention of dancing does make her a bit nervous. It takes a lot to make the cool headed space commander sweat, and the idea of having to dance is one thing that'll hit the mark.

She takes a break between shots, missing a potential opportunity, to signal to the others.

Casanova is struck by a javelin hurled with laser accuracy. Fortunately, the tip is blunt and the spear shatters upon impact. Thundra is hit by a claymore (that is actually made of clay), which breaks over her muscles. Kurumi easily dances away from the danger!

As the princess cheers, Pira and Thundra provide percussion with their combos. The largest of the Terra Potta remains standing and is about to unleash its whirlwind attack—

*ZAP*

—but Casanova’s stun gun renders the statue inanimate. Its eyes dim, and the pottíman remains in a ‘batter up’ stance.

There is broken pottery all over the floor. Behind our heroines, there is still a wall of flame, but the fire is dying at the center, revealing a spiral staircase that will lead our heroines further down.

On the opposite side of the room, below the large mirrors, there’s an open door which leads to a narrow hall. It is oddly triangular, thirty feet high at the peak and only about five feet wide at its base. It’s not so narrow that our heroines would have to move single file. But two women moving side-by-side would definitely block the way of any attacker should there be more ‘claymation hazards’ ahead.
OOC:
Okay, let’s be real. Either way there are going to be bad guys trying to stop you from progressing. So the main difference is this:

• STAIRS: gravity and higher ground come into play, and if we had a fairy player there’s also a huge area in the middle where flight keeps you out of melee.

• HALL: positioning can keep someone relatively safe:

Not one to wait in a place where danger's reared its ugly, or in this case statuesque, face Casanova casts her vote quickly. She points to the door, her eyebrow raised, in a method she hopes will show it's a preferred option and not her calling the shots on her own.
Jul 15, 2024 9:40 am
"Strange, those terracotta enemies did not droped anything..." says Kurumi. "I cannot decide where to go, my head still feels dizzy." So far she did good performances but she could do little on the stairs or in the narrow corridor.
Jul 15, 2024 12:28 pm
"This way!" Thundra says, pointing to the door. She looks back at Princess Diamond. "Stay behind me and Pira, Princess! Kurumi and Casanova in the rear. Onward!"
Jul 15, 2024 2:35 pm
With the two fighters up-front and two more heroines at the rear, Princess Diamond is—probably for the first time in forever—in the safest position in a perilous situation.

As our heroines cross the narrow corridor, they seem to be well aware that it’s only a matter of time before a foe shows up. They move as swiftly and silently as they can.

Eventually, they see a shadowy figure at the end of the long hall. He is perfectly silhouetted by the flickering red-gold light at his back. There is a sword in his left hand.

In his right, something round.

"Cerberamic!" he shouts as he hurls the sphere, "I choose you!"

There is a crash-tinkle as the ball his the floor. Shards slide and stop short of Pira’s and Thundra’s feet—and before there eyes, purple smoke billows—illuminating the room in a magenta hue.

It fades quickly to a purple haze, and within it is Cerberamic, a three-headed Pottíman (or Pottídog?)! Its heads bark loudly at you! Its bite is probably worse!
OOC:
Rolling for first move: a 4 or 6 hits, a 2, 3 or 5 demoralizes, a 1 does nothing.
Cerberamic is too disoriented to attack in the cramped hallway! It barks loudly and angrily, startling our gentler heroines!
OOC:

Casanova is taken by surprise not by the dog, enemies popping out of portals (and clouds of smoke are really the same) isn't a first for her, but the way her companions react is. She'd never considered herself a dog person, they tend to make her nervous with how similar they are to the jocks of space command, and she'd always preferred birds. In hindsight, a pilot preferring birds is a bit of a cliche but still...

She takes aim with her phaser gun, considering her options. In the cramped space a hit on the owner isn't going to be easy, and she doesn't know his situation beyond the shadow. Instead, she looks around for something to help against the dog; big animals like this tend to be vulnerable to falling chandeliers and things.

She spots something loose on the ceiling, and switches her phaser to vandalise.

OOC:
Pira Misses, three heroines Combo (full success) and Casanova Hits (success with complication).
Pira leaps through the air in a graceful arc which would surely clear the oversized three-headed mutt. But the middle head rises to catch the fighter—

—only it clamps its mouth shut too soon as Thundra asserts her dominance! Pira bounces off the Pottídog harmlessly.

The left head is about to strike, but the right head is responding to Kurumi’s attempt to tame it. The middle head is in control of the rear legs, which are making a step back (and slightly toward the wall opposite Thundra).

Casanova sees that everyone in the fight is a dog-person, with the possible exception of Princess Diamond, but she’s scolding the shadowy Pottíman Trainer. So the space commander sets her phaser to Vandalize!

Chunks of the wall come crashing down toward Cerberamic, narrowly missing the most aggressive head as the hind legs and one front leg force the entire dog back several feet!

Our heroines cannot easily pass this obstacle, and two of the heads are growling. It’s pretty clear that our heroines will have to fight Cerberamic if they climb over the rubble.

As our heroines presumably contemplate the harsh reality: Cerberamic is a very, very bad dog (or is trained to be), the trainer himself responds to Princess Diamond.

"My mother? What do you know about my family? Not as much as you should. Do you realize that you look exactly like my sisters?"

The shadowy man is backlit by the red-gold firelight emanating from the triangular opening at the end of the corridor. Two black lines extend from his legs. His shadow, of course.

Only now, his shadow is growing darker. Longer. And as it spreads across the room, it seems that every pixel of the shadow is animated—like billions of little bugs!
[ +- ] Flashback
Our heroines could stick around and find out what the shadow wisps are. Or, they could retreat and take the spiral stairs.

If they do stick around, there is one more bizarre occurrence. As the shadow wisps spread toward our heroines, there are also golden sparkles trickling down from the broken (vandalized) ceiling.

It’s difficult to say which will reach our heroines first, if they stay put:
—the ✨luminous✨sparkles
—or the 👥shadow👤wisps👥?
OOC:
No dice. Decide as a team what to do. Assume you have about ten seconds to talk (and it’s PbP so if this ends up being three minutes of dialogue, y’know… it’s PbP).

The only hint I’ll give you is that it’s clear your characters will not harm Cerberamic. The dog is not so kind, but the GM is. No matter what you choose, you will not be forced to fight the dog after all five of you made a very successful team effort to avoid this fight.
Jul 16, 2024 12:48 pm
"Woo! Structural damage!" Pira throws her hands in the air in reaction to Casanova's successful vandalization, and perches next to the top of the pile of rubble so she can glower over it at Cerberamic's owner. "Hey dude, your shadow's funky and I don't like your attitude, but you have great special effects! Also, have you seen a sword guy around? We're looking to kick his... derriere!"

She looks back over her shoulder at the others and waves her hand at the sparkles. "I wanna see what happens! But maybe some of us can take a step back so we don't all get magicked at once?"
Jul 17, 2024 8:16 am
Like Pira, Casanova wants to know what'll happen when being touched by sparkles or shadows. She'd prefer sparkles, if she's honest, but she does associate them with plasma bolts and being touched by them doesn't tend to end in a comfortable situation. She doesn't get the same impression with these sparkles though. As she wraps herself up in thinking in circles, she remembers the second part of Pira's point and nods.

Kurumi agrees with Commander Casanova.
Jul 17, 2024 11:49 am
Pira is the first to get hit by the Pixel Dust.

From Pira’s perspective, it may momentarily seem that the sparkles are making Cerberamic bigger. All three heads are glittery, but the reality is that Pottímen(/dogs) are immune to fairy magic (except for Dragon Type which are easily slain by Fairy Type).

It takes a couple seconds for Pira to feel what everyone else can plainly see. She is getting smaller. Her clothes are getting smaller. There is a giddy feeling as her feet lift off the ground. And how does she feel when she sees Bitey ‘swimming’ in the air alongside her, and twice her size—or is it thrice?
OOC:
Pira is now 4 inches tall (whereas all the girls are 5-to-6 feet, maybe over 6 in Thundra’s case), and she can float by thinking happy thoughts. If she complains, she will lose altitude.

Anyone else who catches the sparkles will have similar effect. Like Pira, a side effect. In her case, her plushie is a foot long. It will automatically float in close proximity to Pira.
Do our other heroines catch the glitter? The shadow is now spreading over the rubble. Cerberamic nervously lifts their porcelain paws and their urn-shaped snouts bark downward. If our heroines don’t move forward, the shadow will reach them before the Pixel Dust can.
OOC:
To everyone but Pira, if you catch the Pixel Dust, you will shrink and fly as well!

…kindly narrate your transition, if you choose to do as Pira did.
Jul 17, 2024 1:13 pm
"Ooh! Shrinky dust!" Thundra says in wonder. She steps forward and reaches a hand to touch the pixel dust. Her body tingles as she begins to dwindle in height, her clothing clinging tightly to her frame as it shrinks along with her. Her fur boots seem to lengthen--or is it just her legs getting shorter? Either way, over the span of several seconds, the mighty barbarian becomes a pint-sized pipsqueak, though her massive weapon is still proportionally huge.

"Ha ha! What fun!" tiny Thundra says in a high-pitched voice. She lifts off the ground and flies up amid the falling dust. "Bangooo!" she exclaims.

"!!!" Pira is disoriented at first and for a moment considers whether her new form is a problem, but all of these thoughts retreat when she sees Bitey not only floating on its own, but also being the perfect rideable size! "Bitey, you're giant!" She screeches in delight, although at this size it is more of a high-pitches squeak. Without much thinking, she darts straight to her plush and tries to climb on its back, raising her hand in a triumphant gesture. "Forward, my friend, we shall fly and poke this guy until he stops being a jerk!"
OOC:
I'd like to fly over the Cerberamic now that I'm smaller? :D
Jul 18, 2024 1:52 am
She shrinks down, down, down. It’s really nice that her dress shrinks with her too because she swears the last time this happened it didn’t and she had to wear leaves for most of the rest of the adventure. She finds herself able to fly and is glad the outfit didn’t quite shrink as much because otherwise someone might look up her skirt.

She has somehow managed to shrink and fly without any mishaps so, she floats herself over to the dog go’s head. "You know Cerberamic, I bet you could be a good doggie if you wanted to."
Jul 18, 2024 7:48 am
Not being one to miss out, and given she wanted to see what would happen anyway, Casanova let herself be touched by the gold dust. As she shrank she got considerable vertigo, and ended up floating in a meandering pattern while the world whirled and whipped around her shrinking perception. When it finally came to a halt, everything changed.

Hauling her phaser gun with considerable effort, she blinked the stars out of her eyes and wondered how her helmet still fit at all. She half expected to be able to live in it. She wasn't complaining though, instead her game face won out and she considered how to fly while her excitement built despite herself!
Jul 18, 2024 8:03 am
Kurumi sees her friends and jumps (but carefully) onto a spot with Pixel Dust. She feels her body shrinking and her bodies too. "I know glitter is fun, but this is funnier!" she says. She feels herself levitating and thinks that she can wear her dolls' clothes now. Well, her dolls are back at her house. She can try new moves though, with flying dance! Maybe she can do a real aeroal dance. She does some barrel rolls and flies next to the other girls. Her ribbons leave long traces behind her. "So this is how it feels to be a Pixie girl?" she asks.

The feeling of being light as air fills our heroines’ currently-little hearts with joy! Happy thoughts propel them over Cerberamic, whose three heads wear an expression of confusion as they sniff around the rubble and occasionally bark into it.

One head finally perks upward at the Princess’ insistence that they can be a good dog.

"RUFF ROO ROOF ROFF RUFF!" is Cerberamic’s reply to that.

The shadow wisps spread up the sloped wall, forming hands that try to snatch our heroine’s from their flight! They easily outmaneuver the hands, but one might notice the hand that tries to take Thundra has a fur-clad forearm. The one that attempts to swat the princess is daintily tea-gloved, and the one that moves to strike Pira has claws.

After a few evasive maneuvers, our heroines’ recognize the shadowy hands as silhouettes of their own hands!

They also get a glimpse of what’s beyond the shadow-man at the end of the corridor—a catwalk overlooking an area a hundred feet below, or maybe hundreds—it seems like a mile when shrunken a tenth of your height or smaller!

Whatever is down there is massive and pink and surrounded by strange black pillars with squares of red-gold flashing all about them. Tendrils of shadow hold the pink metal thing in place. Only Casanova knows what it is—it’s Pinky!

The shadow man raises his sword. "I won that pink thing fair and square!" he gripes. "Shoo, girls!" His shoo-ing with the sword creates a wind that blows our heroines’ into the very place the shadow man meant to shoo them away from! "Hey! Stay outta there!"

His voice is oddly boyish. As is a voice coming from way down below, about where the pink thing is.

"HLLP GRT ME URTA HRRR!"
OOC:
I’ll hold off to see whether you say anything to the shadow man or you ignore him and fly down.

You can effortlessly stay out of any enemy’s reach. Nothing can (currently) stop you from flying toward the ‘green’ voice.
Jul 18, 2024 4:16 pm
"If you won it fair and square, show me the legal documents!" Pira veers off the course, confident that the others can deal with whatever is that odd pink being in the pit, and instead directs Bitey to circle around the shadow man's head. "You gotta support your claims, pal! Also you didn't answer my question, so I'm not going to answer your request either!"

The duo of two piranhas hover ever-so-closer to the mysterious man, fearlessly flying right by the blade of his sword. "By the by, what are these fashion choices? Is this a tunic? You really should upgrade your wardrobe! Need any advice? I bet you can pull off a jacket, or maybe a nice hoodie..."
OOC:
Just distracting the guy! Also I don't think it was stated what he's wearing, so that was a context guess. :D

Diamond had always wanted a pet but, after the events of her very first adventure when she was eighteen she couldn’t dream of endangering more. She well remembered that her goldfish was killed in the attempt. She spent nearly three days in Dragon’s Domain slowly making her way to the dragon and saving a prince along the way.

In any case she always wanted a pet and all animals had a special place in her heart. So, she found Cerberamic’s ear and pet behind it giving him a good scritch. "Who wants to be a good boy? Who wants him some petting. You do!"
Dragon’s Domain started as a cheap knockoff of Dragon’s Lair. However somehow it became popular and a number of sequels were made. The laser disc technology has adapted and people seem to just like the cheesy plot lines.

Casanova rolled foot over head through the air, and felt dissatisfied with how her transformation seemed to be going thus far. Even still, spotting Pinky down in the pit changed everything. Her heart swelled with pride, happiness and, honestly, a bit of fear for her beloved ships status when she caught sight of the pillars.

Glaring, she darted down toward her ship, but didn't get too close for now.
Jul 19, 2024 10:49 am
Thundra ignores the shadow man as she goes where he doesn't want her to go!
Jul 19, 2024 11:18 am
As the princess scratches the Pottídog’s ear, an adjacent doghead barks at her very loudly—and into the ear that was getting scratched. That doghead barks back, and the third tries to bite their tail to shut the others up.

Cerberamic runs rapidly in circles, with two heads barking at each other and the other snapping at its own tail, and pretty sure he almost got it that time, making another futile attempt—

Casanova gets a better look at what’s happening below as she flies down. Her ship is indeed captured by the shadow-man, or some other shadow maybe since shadow-man looks rather boyish.

In fact, with Pira mocking his outfit, Casanova notices a pair of earthtone boots on legs wiggling at the top of an urn. His muffled voice calls, "If I get outta here, I’m gonna ruh ruh ruh…" His (probably idle) threat is too muffled to make out, but it’s not directed at Casanova. "…’cause nobody steals the form of Hero Sword Guy!"

He’s really trying to sound confident, but there’s an obvious hint of humiliation in his voice.
OOC:
Everyone, you are all capable of flying to Hero Sword Guy or remaining at the top with the shadow man, a.k.a. Antihero Sword Guy. Self-preservationy instincts tell you not to fly anywhere near the three headed dog while it’s chasing its tail and barking at itselves.

No dice for now. Just narrate.
Jul 19, 2024 11:22 am
"He is stuck! Allow me to unstick him!" Thundra declares when Casanova points out the wiggling legs of Hero Sword Guy. The miniature barbarian floats over to the urn, grabs hold of a leg, and tugs with all of her prodigious might!

Pira continues circling the apparent shapeshifter, chatting at him in the most distracting manner possible. Even if he doesn't seem to be doing anything - not even trying to answer her questions! - he can probably do his grabby shadow hand thing again.

"Hey, buddy," Bitey flies dangerously close to the shadow man's head, and Pira whispers conspiratorially: "You have some family issues, right? How about a deal: you return the pink thing, tell us what's up, and we fix it for ya? Oh, and I guess free the shorty over there too? Not that it's not deserved for him to get stuck in pottery of all things, but we kinda need to ask him some things!"

Casanova flitters about trying to figure out a way to save Pinky. After all, more than just a prize ship, Pinky's a partner and her home. She'd been everywhere with Pinky, and now wouldn't be any different. Puffing her cheeks out, she considers all of her options, then wonders if the voice would be the solution she's looking for.

Not hesitating if anything could save Pinky, Casanova follows Thundra to free the trapped person.
Jul 22, 2024 2:22 pm
As Pira speaks to Antihero Sword Guy, she can feel the wind whirling about his brandished blade. It makes it impossible for a fairy to get too close, which seems to annoy the shadowy figure. Rather than reply to her, he grumbles unintelligibly and unsheathes another sword. This one has a giant rock ‘impaled’ on the tip. He puts the way-too-heavy thing down and draws another two swords at once. One has black flames rising from its blade. The other has a black fluid dripping from it.
OOC:
He’s a silhouette of Hero Sword Guy, so these last two swords are Fire and Water, but completely black.
The shadow-man’s face is featureless except for two glowing purple eyes, which glare at Pira, and flicker at any other heroines that have not flown down with Thundra and Casanova. He raises his twin swords…
OOC:
Pira, Kurumi, Diamond,
What happens next depends on whether or not you fly down.

Despite her tiny size, Thundra pulls Hero Sword Guy’s leg—and the jar tips and out pops the guy! And with him—

—a SPLASH💦 of water!

Luckily, the trapped hero(?) is wearing his Plus Two Mask of the Mermaid’s Kiss. It looks like a scallop shell with eye holes and a red lipstick print on the outside where the hero(?)’s real lips are, behind the mask. Thundra has some kind of innate knowledge about fantasy items, so she immediately knows that this mask allows the wearer to breathe underwater. Casanova can probably figure that out because the guy didn’t drown, but her mind is solving a bigger puzzle…

CASANOVA, YOU NEED TO DEFEAT THE SHADOW BEFORE IT OVERTAKES YOUR SHIP

Casanova somehow gets this feeling that neither sword boy is the real villain here. The real villain is either the tendrils holding her ship, or the weird black boxes emitting the tendrils.
OOC:
Casanova, what do you do? (No dice.)
Thundra can’t help but notice that Casanova is much smaller than her. She’s like half her size—but weren’t they both the same size when shrunken?
OOC:
Thundra is now 1 foot tall. She can still fly.
Jul 22, 2024 11:46 pm
"No deal, eh? Your loss, shadowman!" Pira makes taunting finger guns at the guy and then directs Bitey towards where Kurumi is hovering around and Diamond is petting the Cerberamic. "Lasses, we gonna move before we get scorched! Hop on!" Her piranha plush stops at a slightly higher altitude, so that Pira can extend a hand towards the other girls like a knight on a white horse, straight from a fairy tale! Or at least that's the idea. Her costume probably isn't too knightly, and Bitey's fanged grin is better than any horse can pull off!
Jul 23, 2024 7:04 am
Kurumi flies as fast as she can towards Bitey and grabs Pira's hand to hop on the plushie. Her ribbons trailing lines behind her.

Casanova flies closer to the strange boxes, trying to investigate what they are and if she has any way of interacting with them and not ended up in a way much worse than she currently is.
Jul 23, 2024 10:11 am
"Ha! I'm re-biggening!" Thundra says as she flies to re-join the other smaller ladies aboard. "I feel like I am supposed to smash something. Just tell me what!"
Jul 26, 2024 2:10 pm
Princess Diamond leaves the dog as it chases its tail and bites at itself. Apparently only some of the heads wanted to be a good dog. That was sad, maybe if she had enough magic she could have split it into three dogs and then they could all be happy. With those thoughts of sparkling castles and having cute but not so easy to kill pets she got caught up in her own imagination.

Finally, she remembered that she was supposed to be doing something. She flew down to help Thundra with Hero Sword guy. "Hey Sword Guy, could you maybe defeat the shadow evil version of you? That would be great."
Jul 27, 2024 1:43 am
Antihero Sword Guy makes a futile attempt to swat our tiny heroines away, but only the water from his sword manages to hit anything. A few drops wash some of the dust off of Bitey. The plushy grows slightly, but is still glittery enough that Pira can control its flight. (If anything, the growth made the plushie less crowded.)

Hero Sword Guy bows to the princess. "Me? Defeat my own doppelgänger? Uhh… yeah. As you wish, your highness."

He shouts up to the shadowy figure, "Hey, ya big jerk! You thought you drowned me, but, ahh, you didn’t! So how do ya like THEM apples!"

The shadowy figure stares down in silence. His glowing eyes shift to the strange boxes around the ship… then he looks up, raises his arms and…

—dissipates. There’s a poof of purple-black smoke, then nothing.

Hero Sword Guy sheathes his sword and bows to the princess again. "He did not like them apples, your highness," he says with much confidence.
Casanova sees the tendrils connected to the black boxes, and she understands roughly what is happening. The boxes are either overtaking Pinky’s technology, or they’re extracting it. It’s not the ship they want, but a power from the ship that is useful.

CASANOVA... I KNEW YOU WOULD COME. PLEASE. SAVE ME.

The ship’s AI sounds weak, but Casanova is not too late…
OOC:

I’ll give time to let you guys talk, and likely, the Level 2 Boss will reveal themself on Monday or Tuesday.

Pira directs Bitey to join the others, the piranha plush coming to circle in the air above the pink thing. "So, what is this?" She gestures at the object in question, leaning over to peer at it curiously. "Do you know it, Casanova? Is it your friend? Hi!" She waves enthusiastically at the ship. "You don't look very happy with these tentacle thingies."

Casanova flies closer to Pinky, trying to figure out what she can do to save her beloved ship. She nods at Pira, both to answer that it's her ship and that she's not happy with what's happening to it. When she can't find any obvious way to do it, she flies straight at her ship angling for the entry ramp to try and get on board.
Jul 29, 2024 11:20 am
The ship’s AI responds to Pira, and of course, to her captain as well.

YOUR ASSESSMENT IS CORRECT. I DO NOT CARE FOR THESE TENTACLE THINGIES.

CAPTAIN, YOU HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO ONE TWELFTH YOUR ORIGINAL HEIGHT, OR 1/1728TH YOUR ORIGINAL MASS. TO PILOT ME UNDER THIS CONDITION WOULD BE INADVISABLE.

Everyone hears Pinky’s reply, and there are pots of water that any one of you can jump into to wash that pixel dust off of yourself.

But what Pinky might not have noticed is what our heroines can see. While Pira and Casanova are close to the ship, their little wings are sprinkling glittery dust all over Pinky.
OOC:
@FlyingSucculent,@Dmbrainiac,@Alepous,@Tickettbror,@Ysolde

Before I have the shadows do something awful (shoulda said ‘shady’), let’s have a roll:

3D Hero if you choose to jump in a pot of water to grow back to full size.
~OR~
3D Sprite if you choose to sprinkle pixel dust on Pinky.
~OR~
2D Sprite if you do something else that I didn’t think of, unless you think it’s so heroic you should roll 2D Hero instead.

For the 3D rolls, your action will succeed even on a miss. The total # of hits from every player who takes that action and how many players take that action are all factored in to determine how much you accomplish before the enemy acts. (You can assume shadow people are really good at moving around without you noticing.)
Jul 29, 2024 1:03 pm
"Oh yeah, time to wrestle some tentacles!" Pira whoops, then pats the back of her piranha, addressing it: "Bitey, follow Kurumi's lead for now, I'm gonna go take a quick dip so I can show this shadow octopus what-for!" She grins at the dancer, then jumps off the plush, half-falling half-diving into the water. "Don't worry, weird pink space ship, we're getting you out!"

Rolls

P4 Hero - Strong - (3d12)

(31011) = 24

Jul 29, 2024 1:25 pm
"Bath tiiiime!" Thundra declares, diving into the pot of water!

Rolls

P6 Hero - Strong - (3d12)

(7112) = 20

Jul 29, 2024 1:55 pm
OOC:
5 hits x 2 players = 10, which is what you needed on the Hero roll. The party will win init. vs. the enemy!
Jul 30, 2024 1:47 pm
"Sword Guy, that was not very inspiring. Are you sure you are a hero? I've been hearing disturbing tales about you invading people's houses and breaking pots." She didn't have much time to actually berate the Sword Guy because there were tentacles to deal with.

Large Tentacles, no she was absolutely not going to increase her size to deal with those things. She'd heard, from other people mind you, just how awful and unpleasant large unknown tentacles could be, and she was just not that sort of Princess! So, instead of growing larger and fighting the tentacles herself she sprinkles some pixy dust onto Pinky.

Rolls

P2 Sprite - Strong - (3d12)

(1033) = 16

Jul 30, 2024 1:50 pm
Kurumi flies above the ship, sprinkling dust. She is very concerned with the tentacles but she is afraid to come close to them.

Rolls

P3 Sprite - Strong - (3d12)

(816) = 15

Jul 30, 2024 8:21 pm
OOC:
3 hits x 2 players = 6

@Tickettbror up to you, of course, but if you succeed on the 3D Sprite roll (1 hit+), that would get Pinky enough Pixel Dust for something good to happen. (But if you want to grow big for the fight, that’s okay too.)

I’ll hold off until you post, since your choice and dice-luck will have an impact.
Jul 31, 2024 9:11 am
After a quick assessment, weighing the benefit of increasing her size against shrinking Pinky, Casanova decides that as long as she can still fire her blaster at the tentacles she doesn't need to be any bigger in the situation. She does hesitate for a moment as she wonders if it's possible for Pinky to return to it's original size after, but then thinks its worth the risk over loosing it completely.
OOC:
It was a calculated risk, but poorly calculated! :p

"But… but…" Hero Sword Guy stammers in reply to the princess, "…I smashed those pots in self-defense! And to defend those homes!"

Daimond, who is not ‘that kind of Princess,’ does not know that the tentacles are not ‘that kind of tentacle,’ but perhaps from Pinky’s perspective, they are nightmarish enough. Diamond and Kurumi sprinkle generous amounts of dust. Being magical in nature, they adapt easily to the nature of their fey bodies.

Casanova is doing her best to deal with the oversized helmet and phaser. It would probably be easier on herself to plunge into a pot of water and rid herself of silly magic—but she takes a calculated risk, putting her ship’s needs ahead of her own—

Pinky starts to feel lighter… weightless! The tendrils are taut as they struggle to maintain control over the ship!

THE GLITTERY DUST... IT’S HELPING, CAPTAIN. I CAN ALMOST BREAK FREE
OOC:
3 hits X 3 players = 9✨. You need 10✨ so Pinky can lift herself away. To get that last point, only ONE of you needs to remain a sprite. Regardless of your action, you’ll add +1✨ to Pinky. (The ship can still be freed if you ALL grow back. This is the only way it happens faster than the enemy can act.)

Players act before the enemy can do any damage. So, that being said, on with the narrative.
Clouds of purple smoke swirl about the boxes! They begin to take shape, starting with one who looks like Thundra, and Antihero Sword Guy is formed from another. A third one is beginning to form, but you don’t have time to watch—the shadowy Thundra is already attacking!

"FONDUUUUU!" she shouts, as she unwittingly charges straight at the pot of water the REAL Thundra is ‘bathing’ in.

The pot shatters from Thundra’s sudden growth! Her doppelgänger slams into her, and staggers back a step from the impact.

Another pot shatters, and out pops Pira. She could help Thundra or Hero Sword Guy battle their doppelgängers, but a New Challenger emerges from the shadow. It’s a shadowy Bitey, and that flying fish must be at least ten feet long!

It makes Pac-Manly muncha-muncha sounds as it moves to gobble the little fish!
OOC:
Enemies so far (more to come):
• Antihero Sword Guy
• Blundra (Shadow Thundra)
• Jawsy (Giant Shadow Bitey)

The Hero rolls won init for all players, so do as you will. No defense rolls this round!
Hero Sword Guy clashes swords with his own doppelgänger, who finally speaks: "It is futile to stop us. We have already extracted the data we need."

"Almost,"
Blundra blurts.

Antihero Sword Guy gives her the stink-eye.

Three of the black boxes flash red-gold squares. Arcs of purple lightning trail along the tendrils toward Pinky!
Jul 31, 2024 5:25 pm
"You’re about to extract my SWORD from your FACE, you evil but gorgeous shadow me!" Thundra shouts back. She swings her weapon at her evil clone!

But how can she harm somebody who looks like herself?

With confirmation from her ship, and seeing the other two continuing to sprinkle the dust, Casanova banks for one of the pots. At this point, with potential hostiles on the board, it seems a far better idea for her to be "normal sized"... not just for her mental well being.
Aug 3, 2024 2:37 pm
Okay, she could do this. It was time to be…a hero! She steps into the pot to grow full size and pulls a dagger from a small sheathe at her side. She strides forward with grace only to trip as one of her heels breaks. Why was she even wearing those things anyway!

[ +- ] Shadow Princess Boss Music
Fairy✨Kurumi remains a fairy, and thanks to a well-placed kick by Pira, she is safe to sprinkle just enough pixel dust on Pinky!
OOC:
Kurumi, your Player Number has temporarily changed to P1, making you just as good at Sprite stuff as a REAL sprite!
The shadow-tendrils clinging onto the ship are stretched to their limits as Pinky rises! One by one, they SNAP—SNAP—SNAP! The black boxes topple with a violent CRASH! Purple-black smoke billows from the cracks in the alien machines…
Jawsy turns on Pira, biting the leg that kicked it!
OOC:
Pira, roll 1D Antihero to avoid the bite.

• If the bite MISSes, roll 3D for your next move!
• If you get HIT, lose a ❤️ and roll 2D for your next move!

…the clouds spiral about the room, rising in what seems to be a futile attempt to snatch Pinky as she lifts off! But the cloud simply merges to form a twenty-foot-tall cone.

Princess Diamond draws her dagger as she stands at the base of the purple-black cone, sensing danger from the mountainous form…
Blundra mocks Thundra. "You missed!" She then reaches into her Bra of Holding, whips out a throwing axe! She throws it at Thundra, and misses. She then whips out a pair of chattering dentures, throws and misses, and continues to throw more objects—a fire hydrant, a rusty tricycle, a pink-flamingo lawn ornament with a really sharp beak—and they all whizz past Thundra’s face! Blundra yells in frustration, "I missed too! And I’ve thrown everything but the kitchen sink!"

With a shrug, she reaches into her Bra of Holding once more—
OOC:
Thundra, roll 1D Antihero to dodge the kitchen sink that Blundra’s about to throw at you!

• If the sink MISSes, roll 3D for your next move!
• If you get HIT, lose a 🩵 and roll 2D for your next move!

As Hero Sword Guy and his shadowy doppelgänger clash swords, the hero warns the princess, "Missy Girl—Absinthe—she had her reasons for abandoning this place! She—ahh!!"

He blocks a swing to the throat and pushes on the antihero’s blade. "Next time I’ll cut off more than your exposition, Hero!"
Casanova dives into a pot of water to wash off the dust. But even as she is growing back, she senses something amiss—a presence crawling under her skin!
OOC:
Casanova, roll 3D Hero!

• If you MISS, lose a 💙.
• If you COMBO, gain information.
• If you SUPER COMBO, you also get to roll
3D for your next move.

Else, roll 2D for your next move.

…the mountain of shadow finally becomes…
Princess CLUB!

Princess Diamond is not even knee-high to the shadowy toon, who gazes down at her menacingly as she continues to grow to thirty feet tall!

"Salutations, Mini-Me. I see you’ve broken a heel. Have one of mine!"

She lifts her leg, and as her shoe is over the princess’ head, Diamond can’t help but notice the stiletto heel has three human-sized skulls impaled on it like shish kebab!
OOC:
Princess, roll 1D to not get crushed!

• If you get HIT, lose 🧡🧡!

Hit or miss, for your next move, no matter what it is:
• Roll 2D Sprite if your action is panicky
~OR~ 3D Hero if your action is brave.

Fairy✨Kurumi looks down at all the chaos. As she does, she catches a glimpse of her own reflection on Pinky’s shiny surface.

The reflection sneers at her.
OOC:
Kurumi, roll 3D Antihero!

• For each hit you take, your left-most 💖 becomes a 🩷.

This doesn’t harm you, but losing all your glitter makes you grow back! Your current health is:

"Bad fish!" Pira yells with too much happiness as she tries to shake off the shadowy piranha. "And I'm a bad fish too, so you should feel solidarity with me! And Bitey! And you should totally come with us too, your shadowy creator sucks at fashion. And-"

She abruptly stops moving as she sees the absolute nonsense happening around Diamond. "Hey! Don't step on Her Highness!" Pira huffs in outrage on behalf of the Princess and dashes forward to save her - charging Princess Club, like a true-hearted knightly bodyguard! Except those probably don't fight princesses? She is hurt by the heel but she stands tall. Her hands holding onto the heel of the shoe as behind her music swells. She somehow lifts up the heel as the chorus beats, "I need a hero, I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night. She’s gotta be strong, and she's gotta be fast. And she's gotta be fresh from the fight. I need a hero. I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light. She’s gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon. And she's gotta be larger than life. CASANOVA
Casanova’s bubblegum bubble expands to a seven foot sphere and POPS!—revealing a very strange floating creature.

A Matoroid!
[ +- ] It looks somewhat like—
Its grabby green tendrils wiggle about, hungering for a brain. Casanova somehow *knows* this thing feeds off of brains. Not physically devouring, but extracting thought!

Its beady eyes seem to lock on the aviatrix. And the smily face changes to several other symbols.

🫵💖🚀🔑➡️🪐🧙🏻‍♀️👈☝️👉🪤🏳️↔️🪦
The face changes again (to 😡), and despite that white-flag tamoji, the Matoroid summons an attacker! Jawsy opens wide to gulp up the Space Commander!
OOC:
Casanova,
Roll 2D Antihero to not get swallowed whole!
This attack hinders, but is potentially harmful if you get hit and fail to hit back.
• Miss = you’re fine, and whatever action you take, roll 3D.
• Hit = your attack roll is reduced to 2D Hero, and you need to shoot the fish before it sinks its teeth in to avoid damage.
• Combo = you’re INSIDE the big fish!!! Roll 1D Hero to shoot its uvula!

THUNDRA
Blundra rips open her shirt, or what little there is of it, revealing a chainmail bikini top!

"You will never earn Ex Pee by defeating me, because, uhh, YOU WON’T DO THAT!"

Having been disarmed from Thundra’s super-combo, Blundra uses her real arms and tries to grab the barbarian warrioress and throw her around like a Barby doll!
OOC:
Thundra,
Roll 1D Antihero to not get piledriven!
• Hit = Lose 🩵🩵
Roll 3D to attack, but only a super combo can defeat Blundra! (The chainmail bikini shields her from the next two hits, so a hit or combo depletes the bikini’s HP.)[/ooc]
KURUMI
Kurumi retains her fairy abilities! She can choose to stay this way forever or turn back anytime, though once she turns back to her old self, the fairy form will be gone!
OOC:
Because you didn’t lose any sparkle-hearts, I’m allowing you to choose whether this change is temporary or permanent!
As Pinky rises, a beveled inlet reflects the fairy not once, but thrice! Each reflection is warped by the ship’s curvature.

"Hellooooooooooo…"
"Hellooooooo…"
"Hellooooo…"
, they sing one-at-a-time.

Then in unison, "Hello!"

The three sprites crowd around Kurumi. They all look like her, except for the hair. "I’m Morumi," says the one with the sugarbowl hairdo, "and these are our sisters, Larumi and Kurlumi." She points out the curly-haired one first, so that would be Larumi. This means the one named Kurlumi is the bald one.

"Hey Morumi! Hey Larumi! Why am I Kurl-umi when I ain’t got no curls?"

Larumi fluffs her hair. "Someone’s jealous!"

"Well someone wouldn’t be if someone had your fabulous hair!"

"Someone does." Larumi points to herself.

"Quiet numbskulls! Can’t ya see I’m having a polite conversation?" Morumi brings her hand back to slap both her sisters!
OOC:
Roll 2D Antihero to stop the slap!
• Hit = you take 💖 damage from the slap!
• Combo = you take 💖💖 damage as all three reflections fight each other!

You may roll 3D for any action directed at the sprites. (2D if you try to avoid them and do something else.)

Attacking the sprites is not recommended since if they get hurt, YOU get hurt!

PIRA AND THE PRINCESS
Princess Diamond struggles with all her might to lift the heel. Fortunately cartoons don’t weigh a lot. Unfortunately, thirty-foot-tall toons are still stronger than five-foot-something toons—

But Pira sweeps the heel off the big princess’ feet. And that is one outrageous heel.
OOC:
Pira,
For the rest of this scene your attack rolls are:
• 2D Hero for everyone who’s not Princess Club.
• 4D Hero vs. Princess Club.
The giant princess attempts to grab Pira and Diamond—one in each hand!
OOC:
Pira AND Diamond,
Roll 1D to avoid the crushing grab.
• Pira gets hit = Lose a ❤️.
• Princess gets hit = Lose a 🧡.
• Both of you get hit = Lose ❤️❤️ & 🧡🧡 as the giant bangs your heads together.

Pira will break free if grabbed and her attack rolls are as noted above, but if the princess is hit, she has two options:
• 2D Hero: pry fingers.
• 2D Sprite: panic.

If the Princess is NOT grabbed,

HERO SWORD GUY
The hero is hit as he and his doppelgänger exchange blows. During their scuffle, a clay pot shatters.
OOC:
Anyone may choose to eat the food. If you do, you roll ONE LESS DIE for your attack/action in that round.

EDIT - definitely don’t eat it this round. It’s full health to the entire party when one person eats it. You can use it when someone is KO’d, and they’ll be up with full HP.

"Oof!" Thundra exclaims as her doppelganger piledrives her into the ground. She is dazed for a moment, but quickly gets back to her feet. "You'll pay for that! IN BLOOD! Well, not really blood, but... IN BIG BRUISES!"

So saying, Thundra proceeds to boldly bash Blundra!

For a moment Casanova is stunned by the completely unexpected turn of events. Her phaser hands idly at her side while she watches the communication in front of her. It's only when Jawsy appears that Casanova snaps out of her confusion, and she dives into a roll just in time to avoid the big fishes snapping jaws.

As it wheels around to make another pass, she levels her phaser and takes aim. Even if it is a twisted version of it, she feels a pang of guilt as she pulls the trigger against Pira's plush.

Kurumi will try to revert to her old size, but not before she tries to stop Morumi from slaping her sisters. "STOP it!" she shouts, as well as a sprite can shout.

"Nooo!" She's grabbed by the huge version of herself and she panics. What to do, what to do, this is just like that time she was grabbed by that giant some peasant had summoned by planting magic beans! Seriously who decided to trade their cow for beans anyway? That boy should have been spanked by his mother and never allowed near those beans ever again!

Wait, where was she? Oh right panicking she had to get free and what was the best way to do that? Hmm, well what if she slipped out of her dress and dropped down. Right, that was an option and she had her underthings on so it should be okay. Slipping out of the dress would be no problem at all.

Wait, did I just get my item, according to the status? Does this mean I can get rage now? :O
(Also, why is your wife growing eldritch fruits. Concerning. XD)
"Hey, this isn't how duels work, you dishonourable mimic!" Pira complains as she sees the fake princess make a grab at Diamond. "You're supposed to be fighting me and me alone! Hey, are you listening?! Let her-"

Before she manages to finish the demand, Diamond solves her predicament by a rather unexpected method, slipping her clothes. Piranha blinks at the freshly dress-less princess in brief astonishment, even pausing her wrestling with the doppelganger in the process, then promptly blushes and looks away. She can't be staring at royalty in a state of partial undress! Even she knows enough about etiquette to not do this.

"Okay, see, you can't be fighting two opponents!" She scolds Princess Club, and then fully focused back on trying to heel-poke the opponent into submission. "Face me!"

[ +- ] Status

THUNDRA
Thundra gets slammed head-first into the ground! She’s a bit dazed, but she springs right back up and delivers a powerful attack of her own! Blundra’s breastplates magically absorb most of the attack, but her form starts to dissolve after the final blow.

"My armor looks better on you, Sister!"

She becomes a swarm of shadow-mites, all of whom scatter away into obscurity…
KURUMI
Two of Kurumi’s reflections stop what they’re doing. Only the bossy one seems a bit defiant. "Oh, a wise gal, eh? And I suppose you got a better idea how to straighten these two out. Go ahead and lead us. I dare ya!"
OOC:
Kurumi, no dice needed. Give the three fairies an order!

PIRA AND THE PRINCESS
Princess Diamond slips out of Club’s grip, leaving the giant very confused as she peers into the dress in her hand and fails to find a person.

Pira’s kicks have no trouble finding their target! Pira delivers a multi-hit combo that no ring announcer can possibly count accurately. (They always stop at 99.)

Pieces of the giant fly off and become misty swarms! By the end of the attack, the only sign of where the giantess was is Princess Diamond’s gown parachuting toward Diamond herself, who is wearing some sort of frilly, multilayered undergarment that seems to cover more skin than her actual outfit!
OOC:
Princess, you can simply stand under your falling gown and be fully dressed, if you want.

HERO SWORD GUY
Hero Sword Guy looks quite battleworn, yet the antihero dissolves into a swarm just as he’s about to finish the hero.

"We won? You girls are fantastic! I can’t believe we—"
CASANOVA AND THE REST OF YOU
Casanova shoots Jawsy in the mouth, blasting off its chattering fang dentures! If the big bad fish wants to eat anyone now, it’ll need to chew with its gums.

As for the one unscathed foe… the Matoroid begins to absorb the shadow mites, forming long tripod limbs!
[ +- ] It Looks Kinda Like
More Matoroids start to rise.

Hero Sword Guy steps back as they form. "Go! There’s no time—you need to find Missy Girl before they do!"

Pinky seems to agree.
CAPTAIN, I NEED YOU AND YOUR CREW. NOW
OOC:
🚀 If you board the ship, choose a seat!
• Pilot (reserved for Casanova)
• Copilot (1 seat)
• Gunner (2 seats)
• Engineer (2 seats)

👙 Thundra now has the Chainmail Bikini on. You may activate it when hit to negate a combo. If you negate a hit, the bikini will negate damage next time you get hit or combo’d.

In addition, this particular bikini is also a Bra if Holding. Inside it is only one item. What that item is depends on where you reach:
>> Left: you find a d20 that has a 61 where the 19 should be.
>> Right: a flaming car.
>> Down the middle: the first think you, the player, happen to think of that is larger than a d20 and smaller than a flaming car.

💃🏻💃🏼💃 Kurumi has the option to change her item to Back-Up Dancers! (It seems more fun than Jukebox Coin.) And in that case, she has three back-up dancers who can carry out three orders right now! (An order like ‘come with me’ doesn’t count against your limit, since moving with you is automatic.)

🚨 Princess Diamond has sufficiently panicked and now has a panic button. Press it to negate a bad roll and shed your gown. Whatever you wear underneath it comes with abilities. Dress as Artemis, you have an arrow that won’t miss. Dress as a superheroine, you get a superpower and flight. Etc.

👠 Pira has one other outrageous heel for hitting the giant with an ultra on her first attack! This one is good for a 4D attack vs. the opponent of your choice.
Aug 9, 2024 4:45 pm
Thundra laughs triumphantly as her armor transforms into the magical bikini! "Ha, ha! It's snug in all the right places!" she laughs as she examines herself.

She hops into the spaceship and takes up a gunner position. "Point and shoot! I can do that!"

"Are we going to space now? On a talking bubblegum ship? Nice!" Pira moves her hand around, waving away the wisps of remaining shadows, then quickly glances down at the princess. "Need a hand getting there, Your Highness? I can pick you up! Or, you know, fetch one of these water pots to get the pixie dust off?"

If Diamond accepts the offer of assistance, Pira will follow through. She then yells "Bye-bye, twink, don't get eaten!" to the Hero Sword Guy and gets into the ship. Piranha examines its interior curiously, before pointing at the main control panel: "Oooh, Casanova, may I be a co-pilot? Pretty please?"
Aug 10, 2024 9:44 pm
She stands under her dress and it goes back on in a trice. When Pira offers a hand she says, "Yes, please, thank you Pira dear." Then she is carried onto the ship whereupon everyone takes a station. She looks around a few moments before she sees the engine and her eyes light up.

"Oh, is this the Omniversal Everlight XIII? I learned about it in Clarks Law college. Did you know they only made twelve of these before they switched out the platinum exhaust manifold for copper. Hmm, I wonder if this one still has the original spark plates?" She sits at the engineering station and makes sure her display looks just right. Her magic reaching into the systems and making sure everything works like it should.
OOC:
Clarke’s Law: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Casanova takes the cue from Pinky and runs up the boarding ramp. Everything is where she left it, and the nostalgia makes her stop chewing her gum for a moment and run a hand over the dashboard. It never occurred to her that she had a dashboard in a ship, and that it might've given some the impression of a care with a lot more buttons and a set of pilot sticks instead of a wheel.

She sits in her pilots chair, comfy and familiar, then straps herself in for the coming journey. The familiarity feels like coming home, and she turns to Pira with a thumbs up.
Aug 13, 2024 9:02 pm
The Matoroid is absorbing the shadow-mites, forming tripod limbs and mismatched arm-cannons.

One is aimed at Pinky! Purple-black squares of energy converge at the barrel of the big gun! Our heroines have no time to get to their battle stations! The Matoroid fires!!!

—and a deadly purple beam illuminates our heroines as it passes within a meter of Pinky’s window!

Hero Sword Guy gives the Matoroid’s gangly leg another whack, but the giant creature casually pints him aside. The boy eats the rainbow lollipop (which somehow heals Thundra’s wounds completely) and slips away.

THE BOY HAS ESCAPED TO RELATIVE SAFETY
—Pinky assures you.

Then another voice says,
I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME. THE SHADOWS WILL NOT HARM THE BOY. THEY WANT YOU

Fleeing Missy Girl’s world is the only way to save it. And to save yourselves, leave immediately…

Casanova and Pira steady the control sticks as the thrusters launch Pinky straight up through the thin layer of dirt that was covering this secret underground lair! Princess Diamond activates the force field just in time—which is how she’s used to doing things, and Thundra and the laser cannon while Kurumi chooses a station of her own—

But no battle station is necessary just yet. For the shadow mites had charged Pinky’s warp drive when attempting to extract it. A hole form in the sky, pink and spiraling—

—there is a burst!

…followed by weightlessness. Our heroines are in space, with no sign of the enemy!

Yet.
OOC:
Let’s keep the Level 2 thread open for downtime role-play…
Aug 16, 2024 5:41 pm
"Woo! Space!" Piranha raises her hands in the air in absolute delight, then leans forward on the control panel - just barely avoiding activating a ton of tech she shouldn't be activating - and stares into Pinky's front window at the view beyond. "The fish is in space now! I can't wait to brag about it to Jin. Shadowroo could never."

She stares at the space some more, then twists in the seat so she can look at the others. "That was so cool! This entire thing. Confusing because of all the magic and stuff, but we totally owned this shadow guy! Though I still don't get what connection he has to these weird... space tomato things. Do you know what they are, Casanova? Oh, wait, should I call you Captain while we're here? Ship - Pinky, right? - should I call Casanova Captain, or do you have different ranks in your place?"

While Pinky figures out the answer, she also points at Thundra. "Love the new drip! And all the fighting moves! You know, you definitely should join the tournament someday, you'll have tons of fans over there. And Amora is going to be ecstatic about having another girl competitor - me and her are the only regulars there. Well, there is also the Panda Girl, but I haven't seen her since her dad, my ex-boss, tried to conquer the world last time." She puts her hands behind her head and stretches. "You'd be surprised how many times that happened over the years."

Piranha glances out the window again, seems to contemplate for a moment, then looks at Princess Diamond. "Hey, Your Highness, have you ever seen a falling star?" She tilts her head. "..Which didn't fall on you, I think I should clarify."

Pinky replies,
CAPTAIN IS BOTH APPROPRIATE AND APPRECIATED, PIRA, THOUGH FOR YOUR INFORMATION: CASANOVA HAS ATTAINED THE HONORABLE RANK OF SPACE COMMANDER

The ship’s text display beams with pride as the voice-over announces her captain’s true rank.

The view through the starboard window is an endless sea of stars scrolling from left to right, but Pinky doesn’t give an unsolicited report. She sees that Casanova might have a crew, so her hope is that she can translate for the mute Space Commander…!

Aug 17, 2024 6:15 pm
"We have an all-star crew here!" Pira beams at the ship's reply, then rotates around in the chair - whether by its swivel qualities if it has them, or by physically rotating herself. Either way, an expression of excitement. "You said you are a future Dance Queen," she points at Kurumi, "and Diamond is a Princess, and Casanova is a Commander. Those are like three high-standing ranks!"

She leans forward on the console again, gazing wistfully into space. "Do you think it means there is going to be a great world-saving adventure to be had, Pinky? May I call your Pinky? Or do you prefer something else?"
