"We should get back to the caves before something else moves in, the tribe can handle the Loagfirs." Tomas says

Iroven nodded, "I agree. Now that the Lagofirs are safe, we should resume our exploration. We need to find out what else is there in the lagofirs lair?"
Feb 18, 2025 7:43 am
Koram can't help but agree. Once back in the cave, he'll follow the others to the laogfirs' den and search it for anything of use.

You head back inside and find your way back to the tunnel into the lagofir den. It leads to a foggy cavern that smells strangely sweet. The walls are singed from where the oil caught fire. A small waterfall plunges from the southwestern ceiling into a partially frozen pool, drowning out most sound. At the pool’s edge is an ivory post topped with an intricately carved shell.
Beyond that you find a small nest in the eastern part of the chamber. Among the refuse, you find an old runestone that seems to be giving off a magical aura. Artesia can also detect that there is another magical aura within a 30 foot emanation, though you cannot see anything obvious.

Koram searches the area carefully once Artesia notes the mysterious aura, Haitith joining him for a second pair of eyes.

Iroven walked around the den, eyeing the wall and occasionally rubbing his nose. He looked at the waterfall and then his eyes turned towards the bell. "This is a strange place. What even caused the explosion in the first place?" Walking around the place he tried to find out the source of the explosion by following all the burned, signed lines.
OOC:
I guess that would be a perception check?Rolls

It was all the highly flammable lagofir oil that was caked on the walls and ground, burning up in a ball of fire once in contact with the torch.
Feb 18, 2025 8:52 pm
Artesia looks doubtfully at the pool. "It looks cold," she says, stating the obvious.
Feb 19, 2025 12:40 pm
"Haitith, you think you can check it out?" Koram asks. The dragon nods and heads to the edge of the water, prepared to enter and seek what sparkles.
OOC:
If needed, he can use Evolution Surge to give Haitith water-breathing and a 30ft swim speed.Feb 19, 2025 2:19 pm
Haitith is easily able to recover the glittering item, coming back out of the water with a pendant between his teeth. It is a white quartz pendant in the shape of an angel's feather. It is indeed the last magical aura Artesia sensed.
To identify the runestone you found earlier would be a DC 19 Arcana, Nature, Occultism or Religion check.

Iroven inspected the runestone, trying to understand its nature and whether it had any magical origin.

Haitith shakes the water from his scales as he brings the items back to the dry floor of the cave. They both look over the runestone, as its mysteries remain unsolved.

OOC:
It is in fact a +1 Striking rune. If you leave it and a weapon with the following, they should be able to affix it while you adventure on.Or you can wait until you have the time to take downtime and do it yourself (and not losing access to a weapon for a day while it is being upgraded).load next
