Koram takes the rune into his hands and looks it over more closely. "This could be powerful indeed," he comments.
OOC:
Koram would love the +1 Striking rune. It would empower and affect Haitith's attacks. However, I'm happy to let it go to someone else instead if they need it. Iroven seems to be saying he'd like it :) If someone else takes the striking rune, Horace can make use of the pendant.

"You should take it, use it for the good of the tribe" Tomas says
OOC:
Tomas is ok without either items. He doesn't use weapons in any event.

Iroven nodded at Koram, "You have found it; you should keep it."
OOC:
If there is going to be another one sometime later, I will take it.

When Koram puts on the pendant, he suddenly gets a vision. He's somewhere else, though it is recognizable as the northern geography. He is among the Burning Mammoths, though they are bigger than the Burning Mammoths he knows. He realize he is a child, in front of him is an older warrior. You see he's holding something in his hand. It is the pendant you are wearing. He hands it to you. "I am proud of you grandson," the warrior says and hands you the pendant. The moment you take it, you wake up back in calamity cave. You can feel a strange sense of pride.
OOC:
In addition to the pendant's usual effect, you also gain gain a +1 status bonus to Will saving throws against emotion effects for 24 hours.

Koram smiles as the strange memory, a memory belonging to someone else, washes over him. He feels an intense desire, whoever it was that handed that boy the pendant, to make that man proud. He takes the runestone and stores it for when they are safe. "Let's go clear that area with the mold next," he suggests.

When they get close, he suggests trying the same trick with his torch, still clutched in his off hand. He attempts to light the mold on fire to see if it will catch and clear the way.

You move over to the mold, and utilizing a similar tactic, you light the torch and tosses it inside the tunnel to see what happens. As the torch hit the moldy ground, you see the mold expand and grow and in matter of seconds the whole torch is enveloped by mold.

Artesia's mouth gapes. "I don't think that fire is going to work..."
Mar 3, 2025 6:36 pm
Iroven looked curiosly at the mold getting overgrown by the application of fire. He tried to remember if there was any other way they could restrict or clear the growth.
OOC:
Trying a nature roll to find out.

Nature (Wis) - (1d20+7)

(17) + 7 = 24

Having seen the effect heat has on the mold you realize it's brown mold. A quite volatile mold, but not that difficult to get rid of once identified. You figure you could have it done with a couple of hours worth of work.
OOC:
Now that you have identified the mold correctly, it is quite easy to deal with. Requires a DC 18 Survival check to get rid of it. On a critical fail, the roller gets too close to it, and takes damage. Up to two characters can aid with a check that is also DC 18 (but remember that the circumstance bonus from two successful attempts don't stack).

Iroven remembered that this kind of overgrowth can only mean that the mold was brown mold, which required a specific way to deal with it. He started working on the mold after relaying the information to others so that they could also start clearing the area.

Artesia sets about following Iroven's directions to clear the mold.

You are able to scrub the area clean of mold, making it safe for the following to pass through. You see the tunnel leads to the south as well as to the south east. To the south east the tunnel is sloping downwards, and Artesia is able to tell that the path is unstable scree that could cause an avalanche if you step wrong.

To the east you can see several cliffs from your vantage point. To the north of the slope you see a long, thin ledge 70 feet above. The three other cliffs to the east varies from 20 feet above you to 60 feet above you.

For a moment both Koram and Tomas think they see a humanoid shape hiding on the northern ledge, but it dissappears so quick that if you both hadn't seen it, you'd believe it was just a trick of the light.

Tomas freezes in place "Did anyone see that?" pointing to the north ledge "Was something up there? Maybe we should climb?"
Mar 6, 2025 7:24 am
"I thought I saw something as well," Koram says, "maybe a trick of the light though. We should be wary."
OOC:
He didn't need to use his focus spell to give Haitith swim speed and water breathing earlier, right?

OOC:
No, it wasn't really neccessary for a short dip.
Mar 7, 2025 7:52 am
OOC:
Is this potential landslide in such a place that it might pose a hazard to our Following if it is released?
Mar 7, 2025 8:42 am
OOC:
No, not unless you were to travel that way, as it slopes down from you.

"I don't like the potential danger of trying to cross here, not with how ready that snow looks to move. I could have Haitith try to trigger it safely at a distance - what do you all think?"
Mar 7, 2025 2:33 pm
Iroven turned in the direction both Koram and Tomas were looking and said, "If you both saw something, chances are there is someone. I think we are not alone, and we better be prepared for an ambush. Also, facing an ambush when our footing is not strong will be most dangerous, so I suggest you ask your familiar to investigate it, Master Koram."
