The final challenge was the Deception roll. You did:
- A scout of the stables for people to avoid (17).
- An attempt to get out of the stables quietly (7).
- An attempt to mislead onlookers that you're heading west (currently 10+1 with an Advantage re-roll pending)

The deception should be 12+1 with commanding presence (if that makes a difference)

That's the final roll?

Marginally better at a 15, though I think we're getting our wires crossed about who is rolling what lol

Corson seems to be ignoring the look from Lady Tovrunn, but he can certainly feel the ice... XD

I'm not bothered so long as I get a number out of it :)

I believe Rhod made the initial test, so it's his bonuses, which I think makes it a 19.

Okay, let's go with that then :) what happens next?

Big post underway.

Ahhrrhgg! A 4, really? 🙄 He's losing his touch!

Anyway, the reason for the deception was not being remembered. I suppose a knight and his traveling companions stuck in the middle of a flock of sheep would be hard to forget.

I will work on getting an image for my character up later today.

Here's something I don't know, despite living in a country so infamous for its sheep we have a section in the road code about how to handle flocks being herded along the road: could we riders just wade through the flock? Horses legs are roughly as long as sheep are tall, and smaller animals would give way to larger ones, right? I figure that's something Lan might know, being proficient in Animal Handling.

(Even as I say that, of course, I realise he would think that a warhorse gives him automatic right of way, so he'd definitely try to just muscle through. Then he's going to fall from the saddle and be trampled to death by sheep. And one of the sheep will accidentally stomp on his heart and commit bloodtheft, and become Ser Woolykins the First).

I really need some rest. How much fun would shatter be in the middle of a herd of sheep 😀

Prob not much fun, the wool gives them resistance...

Or, using Animal Handling to get the dogs to do their job... ;)

The DM has not given me a hint that the seal would be recognized by the group so I'm not going to reveal who has penned the letter of introduction.

The scar is on the left cheek. 🙄

Also, I made the assumption that since it is late winter, the fields are fallow so there really isn't any place to hide. The picture in my head is the shed is large enough to hide a single man and his horse but not a whole group of mercenaries.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I feel like it'd be an effort. No individual sheep has the autonomy to get out of your way, so it's sort of like wading through a waist-depth trough of meat. Thicker and more prone to kicking than mud.

So we need to find and suborn the king sheep, understood.

There's certainly not a large company of people hiding anywhere nearby. Barley crops grow all year round being sown in Spring and Winter (though they're not Endier's major crop) so there's some growth - enough to obscure the horizon, but not enough to hide in. I thought it might be a fitting meeting place though...

Does Lan recognise the seal?

Is he willing to lower his weapon and take a look?
