Bildaweer looks at Fang as he walks off. Yeah, probably for the best.

"I agree no, unless the curse is expended we should leave the other alone. Is there a way to check that ?"

OOC:
I can cast Detect Magic, but I probably need Drama's ok as the statue is in 10 feet of water and may be interpreted as a barrier to detect any magic. There's some examples in the PHB at 231 for stone, metal, wood, and dirt.

OOC:
Unfortunately, there really isn't a good way to identify curses on items, short of getting cursed BY said item. I'll say that if you can cast identify on it, you could detect a spell that is affecting it, but not anything regarding the curse itself.

OOC:
I think Cosmic is wondering if the remaining eye is still capable of cursing us - not identifying the curse itself. Also, as per the Detect Magic spell it says I would be able to identify the "school of magic, if any." But, it may be moot as it appears that the remaining pearl is still capable of bad things and I think everyone would like to get avoid that.

OOC:
Right, you'd be able to see if there was magic there and what school it was. However, you wouldn't know anything more than that. Identify would tell you that spell XYZ was affecting the item, but you wouldn't know how it would trigger or anything like that. For curses that aren't spell-based (this one specifically spelled out that the target is afflicted by a spell, but if it was just like "here's a disease" without being tied directly to a spell or something like that) you wouldn't be able (with either spell) be able to identify that it existed. So one of those things that's like "I pick up the axe and attune to it" and the curse is "you must coat the blade in blood once per long rest or the axe drains your life force", you wouldn't know any of that until you attuned to it. They made cursed items pretty nasty this time around.

OOC:
If it is too difficult we can go, was just curious if taking the one dispelled the curse on both. It is not an issue I want to slow the game down for but having some wealth for Cemos new armor would be nice.
Jan 19, 2017 7:47 pm
Cemos takes off in a dead sprint straight to the edge of the boat just in time to see dustin fell the beast. Cemos puts his heels forward to try and stop his momentum and as luck would have it he stops just in time to stop him from getting his beard wet. As the other look over Thierry new prize he contemplate their current situation.

I say we best keep moving. We still have barely a clue of where we're headed and some of our compatriots are still unconscious I don't want to wait around here 3D demon Lords to show up.

After speaking his mind he heads back over to eldreth and try to attend to her.
OOC:
med check.

hot damn that's a natty gents
Jan 19, 2017 7:49 pm
Dustin nods and slips the pearl away and gets back to paddling.

"Good point."
Jan 19, 2017 9:17 pm
Cemos, as you bend over Eldreth, you can't tell much other than the fact that she is unconscious but alive. You can't seem to rouse her, no matter what you do.

You all begin to raft further through the water ways for another chunk of time.

OK, so we need to figure out how you guys are managing this. Since travel in the Darklake is typically waterbound and on a boat (since you aren't all fish), do you want to travel for 2-3 4 hour chunks and then try to all sleep, or are you going to be keeping a constant pace with someone awake at all times on each boat?
Jan 19, 2017 10:02 pm
OOC:
I say one on watch while others sleep.
Jan 19, 2017 10:06 pm
OOC:
I like constant pace with rotating shifts.
Jan 19, 2017 10:14 pm
You see a look of concern and sadness fall over the face of Cemos.

come back to us now Lassie.
OOC:
agreed, one up at all tines
Jan 19, 2017 10:47 pm
OOC:
Yes we should move as quickly as we can.
Jan 20, 2017 12:25 am
OOC:
good deal. What I'll do, if you guys have no issue with it, is play out the entire journey to the other side of the darklake only interjecting when something of interest occurs. The general assumption is you each have charts so navigation will be "easy". That said, the opportunity for encounters is much higher now than it was elsewhere in the Underdark. You'll probably stop with some frequency. :D

OOC:
Sounds good.
Jan 20, 2017 1:23 am
OOC:
how will we determine long rests and when spell slots regen?
Jan 20, 2017 3:36 pm
OOC:
Good question. What I can do is tell you how long has elapsed since the last stop and you can do spell prep and stuff then. I'll tell you that before I introduce any encounters or complications. I'll think on it while I'm flying home today.

OOC:
Safe travels !
