A landlord, Mr Knott, has approached Larry with a job for his new PI company and Larry needs help. Arriving at a certain bookstore in Providence, early on a Monday Morning.

To be fair, each new case Larry has brought has at the very least afforded Karabekian some measure of diversion. He has always had an insatiable curiousity (both a blessing and a curse) and perhaps Mister Getz recognized this early on. Karabekian has had a particularly vexing week, specially after the debacle at the University. Perhaps a distraction is exactly what he needs.
Karabekian closes the book and smiles politely. "Good day to you, Mister Getz. What have you gotten us into this time?"
Karabekian seems to get over himself and his expression changes. "Odd happenings, did you say?" After what they experienced together three months ago he knows none of those involved would ever use the word 'odd' lightly ever again.
Valentin hears a rapping on his door and the voice of the business associate calling.
After receiving the money, Valentin slams the door again, returning back into his apartment; rustling can be heard behind the door. He opens the door, a minute later, now wearing a duffle bag that hangs off his back.
"Afternoon Fellers!" he smiles cheerily. None of the horror that happened earlier in the year has touched the boy. He was whisked away to a family friend while the clean up happened and knows nothing of what occurred.
@Jabes: The point was more for all the flack Marc was getting for being 'the guy who takes all your money.' I'm sure you can hate Marc for any number of other reasons.
Larry explains the rest of the details.
Also sorry about all the switching of spelling I've been doing with the names. It's not really change how they would sound out loud, but I keep flipping around with how they would actually spell their names (though I have more or less settled on Marc).
The brick building is overshadowed by taller newer office buildings on either side. The house fronts the street. In the rear are overgrown plantings and a half-collapsed arbor. Access to the rear exists either side of the residence.
Studying the house, the observer is impressed by the way the house seems to withdraw into the shadows cast by the flanking buildings and how the blank curtained windows hide all understanding of what lies within.
The Old Corbitt Place

A window overlooks the front of the property and two smaller ones to the side, all appear to have been nailed shut from the inside. An opening in east wall leads to another room further in the house.
Suddenly from above are three solid thumps.
A staircase here leads to the basement and a door leads back into the main corridor. Three more thumps come from overhead, louder this time.

Returning to the corridor entrance, Larry sees a staircase off to the right and three doors opposite the rooms just investigated. Returning to the first door (Room 1) he opens it to find a room filled with boxes and junk, such as rusted water tanks and old bicycles. At the far end of the room is a cupboard, boarded up.
The Corbitt Diaries are in English though some of it is oddly phrased.
Larry's shout earns nothing but silence.
Of course I roll high.

The door to the basement has a lock and three bolts and can be opened from this side only. Unlocking it, Larry opens it gingerly, revealing stairs in poor repair, leading to the floor below. A musty smell hits your senses like a freight train. The walls are lined with closely fitting boards.

Marc is actually quite large (Siz 80). This means that carrying him would be a Hard strength check (Half Karabekian's Strength, 30%)
However if Marc remains conscious, no roll should be required, so we'll wait for that CON roll.
Additional help will allow that person's strength to reduce the weight and therefore difficulty (So Larry's Strength of 50 would bring it down the Size down to 30, making it a regular difficulty for Karabekian)

Executor of the will: Rev Michael Thomas, Pastor of the Chapel of Contemplation and Church of Our Lord Granter of Secrets.
Church was closed 1912
On investigation, Church appeared to have suffered a fire. Trapped in the basement, 2 skeletons in silk robes
Found there, a tome entitled Liber Ivonis, occult in nature and written in Latin. Book mostly rotten
Also in the church, a journal with an entry stating Walter Corbitt was buried in the basement of his house "In accordance with the wishes of that one who waits in the dark"
The House was built in 1835 by a prosperous merchant. He immediately fell ill and sold it to Mr Walter Corbitt esq.
In 1852 Corbitt was sued by neighbours forcing him to leave the area.

Beyond is another room and lying motionless and seemingly dead on a pallet in the centre of the room is a drawn, wooden-looking, wizened figure of some six feet, skinny and naked., with ghastly wide-flaring saucerlike eyes and a nose like a knife blade. Some sort of chain rests around his neck. He has lost all hair and his shrunken gums make his teeth look very long. From him comes a sharp, sweet, churning scent, like rotten corn.
The floor is earthen and there is a table in the southwest corner with some curled papers on it.

He continues to check the table.
However, the shot blows a massive hole in the creature's chest.
