V1 screeches loudly as it releases a cloud of spores over the knights and Mai'ngor.

Dec 21, 2017 1:47 am
Seeing the two Vrocks hit by Melpomene's spell, I carefully remove a few components from a well-worn leather pouch and bring my hands together as if carrying an invisible crystal ball. A few muttered phrases later, a huge sphere of fire appears between the Vrocks as the heat is felt by everyone in the vicinity.
[ +- ] Flaming Sphere
OOC:
Aiming for as many Vrocks as possible without hitting our peeps, or V1.

Rolls

Flaming Sphere, level 4 (DEX save 15) - (4d6)

(2414) = 11

Dec 21, 2017 7:05 am
"Beware of their poisonous air and baleful call!" Hunter says, attempting to advise those in earshot. "Normal weapons aren't as effective, and neither are cold, fire, or lightning magic!"

The sorcerer sends a flurry of magical darts at Vrock2, attempting to bring it down so that Mai'ngor can devastate the others. Hunter tries to spare a glance to see what sort of smaller demons are attacking their flank.
[ +- ] Magic Missile, 3rd level
OOC:
If Vrock2 is destroyed by less than 5 missiles, I'd like to send the extra darts to Vrock1.
[ +- ] Hunter's Statistics

Meriele redirects her aim to Vrock1, her arrows whistling over the heads of the group.

After the initial shots, she quickly nocks two more with a sudden burst of speed and fires them off at the same target.
OOC:
Using Action Surge. These attacks are non-magical.

"Great, what's left? Do we have to stomp them to death??"
Dec 23, 2017 4:54 pm
"If your feet are magical, sure!"
Dec 27, 2017 2:11 pm
Round Two: Players
Xeliss' flaming sphere appears in their midst and flames wash over V2 and V3. V2 barely seems to feel it at all and V3 is hurt only slightly more.

Hunter's missiles strike V2 rapidly, dropping it to the ground. The remaining two fly out and strike V1
OOC:
Technically you are supposed to choose the targets before you roll damage since they strike simultaneously, but not a big deal.

Also another odd thing is that you're only supposed to roll damage once and it applies to all missiles, which I didn't know until a few months ago. I will let you choose which way to do it, though.
Three of Meriele's arrows strike V1 in rapid succession. They don't seem as effective as they should be, but you can tell the demon is definitely in pain from the attacks.

I haven't forgotten about Elfog and Sarith, I'm just pretending that they are off fighting some of the lesser demons and bolstering the ranks of your team.

Xeliss, don't forget that you control the Shield Guardian!

Remaining: Mai'ngor, Melpomene
Dec 27, 2017 4:54 pm
Melpomene chants to Mai'ngor:
"Dark forces assail
Warriors standing shield to shield
Go now, push them back
OOC:
Bardic Inspiration +1d8
Then the music from her lyre changes from a sleepy tune to one full of mirth as she focuses on the healthiest of their foes.
[ +- ] Tasha's Hideous Laughter
Dec 28, 2017 5:28 am
The shield guardian makes its way towards the slow-moving Vrock, attempting to hit it as soon as it's within range.

Dec 28, 2017 7:18 am
Mai'ngor dances around the slow-moving vrock in time to Melpomene's music, slashing high and low, Sinag's blade whirling in deadly, complicated patterns, seeking to end the demon.

Melpomene stops focusing on her spell of slowness and V3 bursts into horrible screeching laughter. It sends chills down your spines simply from how unnatural it sounds.

The Shield Guardian walks up and punches V1 in the chest with a heavy thud.

Mai'ngor draws his other blade and slays the vrock in front of him with two thrusts to its chest. He tries to strike the remaining vrock as well but its convulsions in the grip of Melpomene's spell jerk it out of the way, and the kris misses the demon.
