"Hunter, I am the most magical." The flaming sphere moves several feet back, away from the group. I then shift into the form of a giant scorpion and scurry forward towards the remaining Vrock, clawing and stinging it with abandon.
OOC:
I googled the Giant Scorpion stats- let me know if they’re off!

Round Three: Players
V1 goes down with two smoking holes in its chest and Mai'ngor moves on to another target. He thrusts his kris at the chest of V3, but the creature manages to roll out of the way of the strike.

Hunter's magic missiles strike the monster several times in succession, leaving patches of scorched flesh.

Meriele's first arrow skids across the rocky ground before shattering against a stalagmite not too far away. Her second strikes the vrock in the chest.

Xeliss transforms and skitters in, snapping and stabbing at the injured Vrock. Amazingly, she fails to land a single blow on the demon.
OOC:
Wow... I can't believe you missed all of those...
With the demon down, the knights and shield guardian fall upon it, hacking and slashing it to pieces.

Combat over!

Melpomene rushes in to see who most needs healing.
Jan 4, 2018 4:28 pm
Hunter maneuvers her lizard to the fallen knight, where she dismounts and approaches the broken body. She gazes upon it without expression, then looks to the survivors and asks, "What was their name? I never made it a point to learn any of your names, but starting today that will change, and I must honor their bravery today by remembering."

Already she pushes her hand towards the ground, extending her fingers to magically excavate a small grave.
Jan 4, 2018 8:31 pm
Melpomene puts a gentle hand on her arm. "That may not be necessary...let me see what I can do, she suggests.

She inspects the body of the knight to see if it is generally intact.
Jan 6, 2018 2:27 am
One of the knights winces as he takes a look at the body of his companion, "His name was Fisk," he says sadly.

As Melpomene looks over the corpse, she sees that it is more or less intact.
Jan 6, 2018 12:17 pm
Melpomene kneels beside the corpse and places a hand upon his brow. She softly says, "Fisk, your gentle slumber is well-deserved. If you choose it, I wish you peace. I can open this door but once to return to us; it is your choice whether or not to walk through."

She leans back and pulls her lyre forward to begin a song. It starts soft and gentle as she sings of rest and peace in minor chords, then becomes stronger and wilder as it shift to a major key. She sings of fighting and valor and friendship, the song rising to a crescendo with a sudden unexpected stop on a final chord. Bright blue and gold magic swirls around her, building with the song, and on this final chord leaps over to the fallen knight.

Melpomene's music stirs Mai'ngor's blood. Spellbound, and caught up in the urge to honor the fallen knight, he continues his war dance for the duration of the ritual.

Fisk groans as Melpomene finishes her song and his eyes open slowly. He looks to be very out of it, but it's clear that Melpomene has performed a miracle. The knights stand around in shocked silence, unsure of how to react.
Jan 7, 2018 6:17 am
Hunter smiles. She turns to the knights, guards, and scouts. "Remember this and take to heart what we do and why we do it. We are beset by many a terrible foe in these dark places, but we walk with the light of what is pure and good, and we shall not let a single foe stay us from our task. The daemonic refute the peace, and though we walk through the shadow into the maw of this foul black, we shall fear nothing.

"For we shall become what the daemon fears."
Jan 10, 2018 3:47 am
The group you are leading takes up a cheer and Fisk looks toward Hunter and Melpomene reverently. Soon the cheering stops and there is a hush as the group as its for your next orders.
OOC:
Anything else before you move on?
Jan 10, 2018 4:19 am
I revert back to my diminutive form and watch Melpomene bring life back to the knight. "Do we keep going, or wait to dress our wounds first?" I have not a scratch as I look around at the others for signs of wear and tear.

Rolls

Medicine check - (1d20+7)

(4) + 7 = 11

Jan 10, 2018 6:08 am
OOC:
Since Raise Dead has an hour casting time, this was basically a short rest.

Hunter doesn't have anything else to attend to, and is ready to move.
Jan 13, 2018 2:50 am
The group is wounded and your followers look ragged after the battle, but miraculously no one else is dead.

You continue on your way and find yourselves at the edge of the Darklake a few days later, not far from where Sloobludop is located. You find a nice place to rest and the group sets themselves in their standard watch order.

Several hours later, you are awoken to shouts of alarm. You look around to see the members of your entourage in a panic.
Jan 13, 2018 7:42 am
"What is it?" Mai'ngor asks the nearest person, Sinag coming to life in his hands.

Rolls

Perception if needed - (1d20+4)

(7) + 4 = 11

Jan 13, 2018 5:08 pm
Filled with memories of Darklake's inhabitants, Hunter was very quiet prior to camping near the doomed kuo-toa city. The sudden panic and alarm does little to quell her fears, and she instinctively moulds a small hole in the ground for possible concealment.
Jan 17, 2018 9:47 am
Melpomene sits up groggily, trying to figure out what is going on.
Jan 17, 2018 3:19 pm
I immediately stand to alertness. "The hell if I know. We’re gonna find out, so might as well get ready."
