It certainly appears so. I have sent him a PM. We have also lost our cleric.

I wish Nyx were here. She is the best scout in Berda Serpentskull says thoughtfully. In truth he is a little biased. Most would tell you that the dark elf Melina is better. I hear she has takn' a band up n'rth. lookin' for more Dire Wolves ta hunt no doubt. If you boys wanna help then by all means he makes an overarm gesture for you all to follow him. Then he yells out Dangers over ya bunch o ninnies. Get ya bones out here or I'll take me axe to yer.

You watch as the mill workers slowly come out and join you.
OOC:
If you wish to help transport the lumber to Berda then please roll an athletics check. The more people who roll, the faster you'll get the lumber to Berda. Alternatively, if you wish to check the area for more orcs or any other dangers then please roll perception, survival or both (they will give you different results). Of course, if you have some other idea please feel free to try it :)
The time is just after lunch, say 1pm.

Krigare, not ready to put up his sword, feels a strong pull toward investigating the area. He's learned the hard way to never underestimate his enemy. However, when Serpentskull yells about the danger being passed, he sheathes the blade and follows the large man. If the man who lives here and understands the region believes the threat to have passed, it likely has. Besides, there is no time to waste in preparing the town's defences.

The paladin digs his powerful hands into a stack of lumber and begins the haul back to town.

A couple of mill workers volunteer to go with Herod as he checks the surrounding area. Heading in the direction the orcs came from you easily find their tracks and follow them for about half an hour or so. Along the way you discover a cash of orc possessions. It seems as if the orcs left the majority of their stuff here before assaulting the mill. You find 1500 cp, 700 sp, 70 gp in coins. A Small Bag of Incense worth approximately 25 gp, a small Bag of Spices worth 25 gp, crude cooking tools (possibly worth 25 gp to a collector), a gold goblet worth 25 gp, Pewter Torc worth 25 gp.

There don't appear to be any other orcs in the area.

The rest of you work for the rest of the afternoon, loading the timber. At about 4pm you finish your work and head back to the town.

In the Inn you find, the common room has been repurposed as some kind of war room. Ms. Bella Fraught is looking over a map of Berda.

Serpentskull! Welcome. Thanks for your hard work. I hear from some of your employees that you had some trouble? I would have sent help but I have sent all available men and women to inform the farmers of the incomming danger. I am glad to see that you made it through ok.
Serpentskull just grunts. He turns to the group and says.
We'll start work tomorrow. What do ya want us ta do firs'? We could build a palisade or we could get ta work divertin' the river to form some kinda moat.
Bella then adds Or we could start some drills and form them into a millitia!
OOC:
Feel free to voice your opinions and Serpentskull will go with the majority decision. The current plan for tomorrow is to go and meet the wizard Alik who lives in the lighthouse about a day's journey south east along the coast.

[ +- ] Tomas to Spring
"Better to keep every man, woman, and child helping as much as they can in the ways they know before asking more of them, I think... As for moat or palisade... Palisade, that is...? Ah, thanks, Spri- Sorry, as I was saying, as for moat or palisade, I'll need to give it a couple more thoughts. Herod, Ronda, Krigare? How do you feel?"
Oct 24, 2018 2:36 am
Unfortunatley, we do not know much about these creatures, aside from their composition. Perhaps the palisade is a better defense, in the event that they can traverse the water easily. At least with walls, they would need a means of going over them.

"Diverting a river is a massive undertaking. Time better spent first building defensive wall then training every man woman and child to better defend it and themselves."
Oct 24, 2018 9:03 pm
"Sounds like a plan to me, unless anyone is against. Also, I suspect the army that is marching on this trading outpost will be mostly undead. Bodies brought back to life. The moat is less easily taken apart by magicks and can slow a horde of creatures down but, if it's as Krigare said, too hard, then it might not be worth it. At least people might be able to feel a little bit safer knowing how to properly hold a spear, pitchfork, or bow."
Oct 25, 2018 8:31 am
You spend the rest of the evening organizing minor details and helping Bella Fraught however you can. Before you realize it, its late and Bella tells you that you've done enough for the night and sends you all to bed. You head up the stairs to the common room and sleep. Your dreams are somewhat disturbing...

[ +- ] Krigare's Dream
[ +- ] Herod's Dream
[ +- ] Tomas' Dream
Once morning has cast its first light upon Berda you leave the town and travel south east towards the wizard's tower. I would like some perception checks please everyone.
Oct 25, 2018 10:01 am
Krigare feels especially rested they travel the path toward the wizard's tower. Although he keeps his usual vigilance, he does allow himself a moment to enjoy the embrace of his deity and the knowledge that she is pleased with his comportment.

Herod is walking, contemplating the meaning of the dream he just had. He is in serious thought about it. What does he want to become? The Beast, or The Cage? Both choices, no doubt, will have repurcussions in the world around him.

After some thought on the road, he decides to take it to Tymora to get her advice. He starts flipping his coin in the air, thinking about the shrine he would need to find/build in order to commune with her.

He then remembers the task he is currently engaged in, and begins focusing on his surroundings.

As Ronda wakes with a start, Rousey squeaks, and runs up to nuzzle the hollow of the half-orc's collarbone. What the hell could that dream have meant? Ronda gropes for her pouch and fishes out the wooden idol. She turns it over and over in her hands, thinking.

As you leave Berda you see that the forest comes right up to the edge of the beach but you also can see some places where the forest has been hacked away and small farms have been built. You hope that Father Bennett has spoken of the danger to the farmers.

You travel south-eastish following the beach for about three hours. The beach is still full of all sorts of detritus from the blown up pirate ship. Most of it is useless junk and the more useful salvage has been previously collected by the villagers and farmers but everyone except for Herod spies a very solid looking trunk wedged between two rocks about ten feet out from the shore. Waves crash over it and it is covered in seaweed but it looks to be intact.
OOC:
What do you do?
Oct 28, 2018 6:08 am
"Hmm, there's that trunk over there. Could have something valuable. Maybe this Alikk will want something for his help, since he's probably pretty far off from the danger, personally. Ronda, Herod? Just asking you first since you two won't have much of anything you need to strip off to prevent from getting wet and rusty."
Oct 28, 2018 7:33 am
Agreed, Tomas. You tell me what you and the shard think is the best course of action.
