Mai'ngor shoves past Shuushar, who gladly allows the tikbalang to take his place, and lands a well placed kick into drow 2's chest. The drow is knocked flat on his back and tries to roll out of the way as hooves rain down around him. He is not quick enough, however, and his skull is crushed beneath the flurry of blows.

Drow 1: Unharmed (Prone)
Drow 2: Dead

Soliin tries to fade into the darkness, and see if he can spot a dagger on one of the drow that he can relieve.

No one pays much attention as Soliin glides up to the dead drow and pulls a dagger off of his belt.

I rush forward towards the drow on the ground and kick it in the head before I continue moving, as far away from the cage as I can.

Xeliss sprints by the downed drow, kicking him in the head (2 damage) as she goes. She has two options for where to go: Across the bridge to the guard tower (which is the only way to the lift) or she can turn right and head toward the quaggoth pens.

Hunter looks at Stool intently, then grabs the myconid's hand and sprints to the opening made by the stronger fey. "The guard tower," she suggests in Common, for the benefit of any prisoners also making their escape. "We should be able to find arms and armor there, yes?"

Most of the other prisoners stream by the downed drow, more worried about escape than killing him. Two exceptions are Sarith and Derendil.

Sarith rushes forward and scoops the sword out of the dead drow's hand and plunges the blade into his shoulder, causing the drow to scream in pain. Sarith rips the blade out viciously and smiles wickedly at the drow.

Derendil bounds up to the drow, shoving Sarith roughly out of the way and ripping into Drow 1's body. Blood spatters the people nearby and it takes a minute for Derendil to stop clawing at the corpse and follow the others.

Players will get 25 xp for that bloodbath

In front of the party lies the guard tower which is housed within a hanging stalactite. You are easily able to enter a 15 foot diameter chamber which contains a table and three chairs, a small side table, and hooks for hanging equipment. There is also a staircase which leads to an upper chamber, which you are all aware houses extra arms and armor for the soldiers.

On the southwestern side of the room is a door leading across another rope bridge which leads out to a path which leads past the priestess' quarters, the elite guard post, and then to the lift. You can hear fighting and screaming beyond the door.

You may take what you like from the drow corpses. The loot consists of one suit of studded leather, 1 short sword, 2 hand crossbows w/ 4 bolts each (all with drow poison on them), and 3 daggers (This accounts for what Sarith and Soliin took.

Soliin looks around the room for a rapier, a few more daggers, a hand crossbow and bolts, and studded leather. Do they even have anything that's halfling sized? Never seen a small drow... He keeps his eyes open for anything particularly valuable, and for anything that looks like it may be a secret passage out.

What sort of check may this be?

Hunter ascends the staircase, hoping beyond hope that maybe her arcane focus is located there. Lacking that, she looks for a dagger or sling, or other simple weaponry.

The only exits are the one you came in, on the eastern side, the one toward the lift on the southwest, and the stairs on the north wall. Soliin does a quick sweep of the room but finds nothing of value on the lower level. Eldeth and Hunter take a peek up the stairs and Eldeth calls out, "I've found us some equipment!"

On the upper level you will find:
6 chain shirts
6 suits of studded leather armor
6 shields
6 hand crossbows
20 cases of hand crossbow bolts, each case containing 20 bolts
6 shortswords and 10 daggers
6 bags of caltrops (20 caltrops per bag)
4 100-foot-long coils of silk rope
2 building hammers
2 bags of iron spikes (10 spikes per bag)

Hunter takes 2 of the 10 daggers from upstairs, 1 coil of silk rope, 1 bag of caltrops, 1 building hammer, and 1 bag of iron spikes. She leaves everything else for the others. She looks at Stool for a moment before rejoining the group on the 1st floor.

Soliin jumps up the stairs, and rubs his hands together as he looks around the room. He quickly dons a set of studded leather, sliding his stolen dagger and two more into the bands. He also grabs a hand crossbow and two cases of bolts, as well as a short sword and two bags of caltrops. Probably overpacking, but better armed than stabbed!

"One of you bigger folk may be better off grabbing the rope and spikes. I look a bit ridiculous with the rope coiled around me."

Stool grabs a coil of rope and a bag of spikes to carry. Ront grabs a chain shirt and a sword and a shield. Sarith grabs a couple of daggers, a shield, and a suit of studded leather. Topsy, Turvy, and Jimjar each take a sword, a dagger and a suit of studded leather. Shuushar grabs more rope and a hammer.

Having already taken a shortsword from the drow guards at the cell door, Mai'ngor takes another from the guard tower. The swords are not as elegant as his kris but they will serve. He ignores the armor - to cover a pintado warrior's ceremonial tattoos would be the greatest dishonor! He takes a coil of the silk rope and rejoins the others. "I had expected a fight to get this far. The spirits favor us. Shall we to the lift then? Follow me!"

Sarith laughs, "It is good that you understand how lucky we truly are to not have encountered any more of my people. We wouldn't still be living if we'd encountered Shoor or one of the priestesses!"

Equipment information is up to date now with what Mai'ngor took

Hunter looks to the opposite door and mentions, "Sounds like a battle outside, but we need to go through if we are to reach the lift. What with the demons attacking, maybe the drow will be distracted enough to let us slip past. Hopefully the demons don't take an interest in us."

"Bah! All of this and not a proper weapon in the bunch." Elfog grumbles as he sifts through the items before settling on the last short sword and one of the daggers. Taking a couple of swings with the sword the look of disappointment is clear to anyone looking. "Not a decent weapon at all!"

He'll grab a shield as well and a bag of caltrops.
