The battle against the filthy kalding, servants of the goat-headed death-god Kaliya-te, has begun! With the goatmen slashing and burning the forest surrounding the portal, our heroes, together with the noble tikbalang tribe, protectors of the mountain, rush to the defense, abandoning their carefully-planned dawn attack. The heroes face overwhelming odds. And mysteriously, The Worm That Walks, that corrupt abomination, has yet to be sighted.

Urban and Rydler decide to join the main force, while Baracus, Erden, and Ybus remain with Makabo's warband to carry out Baracus' audacious plan to take to the worm tunnels and head straight for the portal. Even here, underground, the air is thick with smoke from the burning forest above. The rough tunnel twists and turns without surfacing, but you soon come to a branching.
OOC:
Survival rolls, please.
Aug 19, 2019 7:50 pm
Shortly before entering the tunnel system, Ybus hops off Buluyagon's shoulder. He touches the tip of his belaying pin, and when nothing happens, gives the wooden rod a good whack against the tunnel wall. A globe of Light flickers into existence, and Ybus covers part of the belaying pin with his hand to focus the magical light into a narrow beam.

"Look," he says, proudly flashing the light across the walls and ceiling. "I call it a sun-tunnel!"

Baracus carries Erden on his shoulders, surveying the tunnel with a hunter's eye, feeling for vibrations along the smooth rock, and (mostly) ignoring Ybus's lewd shadow puppets.

By Ybus' magic light and a couple of torches, the warband enters the system of tunnels underneath the battleground. With the PHULES' help, the group navigates the twists and turns and several branchings, moving closer and closer to where the portal should be. Suddenly, the tunnel walls explode and dirt clods fly as several large worms burrow through! One of them swallows a redshirt one of the forward scouts whole, while in the rear, Lingkon-Hok, the musclebound tikbalang Baracus arm-wrestled, is grabbed by another worm's tentacles.

"GRABOIDS!!!" Buluyagon yells.

"What is it with all these tentacles?" Ybus declares. "I feel like I'm in a schoolboy's fantasy!" Using his belaying pin light to guide his aim, Ybus fires two beams of white energy at the graboid latched onto Lingkon-Hok.

"Not that I'm complaining," Ybus adds, blushing with the thought.

With Makabo leading them, the tikbalang warriors move to fight the graboid (G1) that swallowed their friend out front, and also repel the second graboid (G2) that has burst into the middle ranks. Meanwhile, Makabo and the PHULES fight the largest graboid (G3), which has caught Lingkon-Hok in its tentacles.

Battle Music!

Ybus fires from atop Buluyagon's shoulders. His first energy beam goes wide, exploding against the tunnel wall and showering everyone with dirt. His second beam nails the graboid right on its beak (6 damage), and Baracus follows up with a savage thrust of the First Sword, (11 damage) earning a satisfying squeal from the monster right before Erden's fire bolt hits (7 damage), forcing the creature to release Lingkon-Hok.

Finding himself free, Lingkon-Hok roars at the monster and thrusts his spear at it, but the creature's rubbery hide is surprisingly tough, and the spear fails to penetrate.

G1 grabs another tikbalang warrior and and chomps on the poor fellow's leg, the monstrous worm's beak snapping through bone and muscle.

G2 slithers up the tunnel wall in an effort to escape all the tikbalang weaponry aimed at it, and burrows into the earth.

Seeing Baracus as the biggest threat (and the biggest potential meal) the alpha grabs him with its tentacles and bites down on his meaty shoulder - fortunately not the shoulder Erden is perched on! (after DR, 9 slashing + 9 piercing) The monster then whips its tail around and batters Lingkon-Hok's kneecaps, knocking the tikbalang warrior down to the ground!

Ybus' sparkle-dandruff settle on Baracus' shoulders, stitching up some of his wounds. (5hp healed) The ball of light seems to run out of steam though, and falls just short of the alpha graboid. It explodes harmlessly on the tunnel floor, filling the space with multicolored pyrotechnics. (17 vs AC 18. Miss) Try as he might, Buluyagon can't blink away the glowing spots dancing across his vision.

Battle Music!

The alpha shudders as Erden's angry birds slam into it simultaneously. (13 damage) It rears up to lash out at the pesky gnome, but Baracus sinks the First Sword once more into the monster's flesh, then grabs one of its tentacles, tears it out of the graboid's mouth, then uses the slimy appendage to slap the thing hard across the face! (Reckless 1: hit. 12 piercing. Flurry 1: crit. 11 bludgeoning. Flurry 2: hit. 9 bludgeoning)

Lingkon-Hok rolls out of the alpha's reach and draws back his spear to throw, but doesn't have a clean shot.

Ybus' top-knot-singeing blasts bounce around the narrow tunnel, forcing everyone to duck. It throws Baracus off so badly, both his sword and fist miss the alpha completely.

Battle Music!

With a battle focus honed through years of training, Erden hurls fire and slays the alpha! The ground trembles as one of the lesser graboids (G2) bursts forth and begins devouring the alpha's carcass. The graboid eats its fill, then retches horribly, and begins to encase itself in its own slimy vomit! Encased in this pulsating, mucus cocoon ... begins to evolve!

Lingkon-Hok and Buluyagon attack the evolving graboid with spear and blade, but it's protected by its disgusting vomit cocoon! "Makabo," Buluyagon calls, "We've got to get out of here!"

Baracus crushes the shit out of the cocooned graboid, then Erden incinerates it for good measure! Overwhelmed, the last remaining worm burrows into the earth. The tunnel is clear now, quiet save for your quickened breathing, and the occasional grunt from the wounded as Apo Tagipusuon tends their wounds.

The warband pushes onward with an urgency fueled by the knowledge that every moment counts now. At length, the twisting tunnel network takes you as close to your destination as the scouts believe it will. You poke your heads out of the tunnel and spy a flat-topped rock rising 20 feet above the forest floor. The rock face appears scalable, but a crude wooden ramp has been built to access the top. A familiar sound, the thrum of a portal, can be heard coming from above. From the east, the distant sounds of battle where Apo Mai'ngor and the main force have the kalding forces engaged.

Makabo nods and gives the command, "We move in now! Stay quiet, strike fast, and strike hard!" With that, the tikbalang break cover and attack, catching the goatmen at the base of the rock by surprise. Spinning and leaping the tikbalang warriors tear into the defenders. Makabo's kampilan severs kalding limbs and necks.

A trio of axe-wielding berserkers defend the foot of the ramp, while up top a staff-wielding shaman appears to be preparing to rain down spells on Makabo and his warriors. The PHULES, Buluyagon, and Apo Tagipusuon haven't been spotted yet. What do you do?

Battle Music!

The shaman blocks one of Ybus' beams with his skull-adorned staff, but takes the second beam in the face. (3 damage.) Angrily, the goatman levels a magical curse at the halfling, but Ybus is able to counter it with ease. (Counterspell triggered, and shaman's spell is ruined.)

Baracus charges the ugliest, meanest berserker (B1), but the goatman parries his sword thrust with the wide blade of its greataxe. The brute reverses its swing and brings it down on the raging half-orc, but Baracus parries in turn!

Erden blasts the second-ugliest berseker (B2) in the chest with a bolt of fire. (10 damage.) With a snarl, the goatman lowers its horns and charges. But it must get past Baracus to get to Eden, and so it rams the half-orc first. But again, Baracus kicks the goatman's horns aside!

Buluyagon follows Erden's example by breathing fire at the third billy goat (B3). (16 fire damage.) The kalding retaliates by ramming Buloy. Ybus' world is rocked as the goatman nearly topples Buloy, but the tikbalang laughs and manages to stay standing.

Makabo and the other tikbalang warriors take down mook after mook, but the goatmen keep coming, leaping from ledges in the rock! Now, a horn blast is sounded at the top of the rock!

Battle Music!

Both of Ybus' magical beams hit the shaman like a one-two punch! (4 total damage)

After parrying the berserker's axe with his bare hand, Baracus thrusts the First Sword at the goatman's exposed midsection, then brings his parrying hand down in a powerful knife-hand strike that splinters the kalding's collarbone. (B1 takes 13 piercing + 8 bludgeoning)

With a bellow, the goatman retaliates, opening a gash in Baracus' leg with its axe. (7 damage after DR)

The other kalding (B2) brings its greataxe to bear in an attempt to knock the First Sword out of Baracus' grasp, to no avail.

The last berserker (B3) tries again to knock Buloy off his feet, but he only gets a face-ful of fire-breath for his trouble. (Buloy uses his last fire breath for 12 damage)

Erden's arcane owls tear into the shaman. (12 damage) Hurt, the goatman casts one spell, causing spikes and thorns to burst from the wooden ramp, then backs away from the cliff's edge.

On either side of the ramp, the battle between Makabo's fighters and the kalding mooks continues to churn out blood and gore, and the clash of weapons, and the screams of the dying.

Ybus sends the third berserker (B3) to meet its god. (kill shot with 19+19 force damage)

Baracus punishes the big one (B1)with sword and fist. (9 piercing + 8 bludgeoning) The goatman strikes back, but the half-orc swats the axe away with his open palm. (3 damage after DR)

Erden's flaming bolt misses its target (B2), but Buloy wades in, slashing with his kris. (8 slashing)

None of the kalding notice Timear circling above the rock to survey the scene below. Through simple thought-shapes, the owl communicates to Erden that there are more goatmen protecting the portal. Erden will have to look through his familiar's eyes if he wants a clearer picture of the situation.

Makabo's warriors have gained the upper hand against the mooks, but they've still got plenty of those to deal with.

The First Sword finds the berseker's vitals. (Crit. 18 piercing) The goatman falls to one knee, coughing blood. Wasting no time, Baracus kicks it while it's down (10 damage). Looks like the goatman is staying down. It doesn't even fight back.

Ybus blasts the other berserker (B2) twice (18 damage), then Buloy adds insult to injury, laughing as he slashes with his kris. (Buloy misses) The goatman knows it essentially stands alone now. It tries again to knock the First Sword from Baracus' hand, but the half-orc is having none of it.

Erden's firebolt misses again. The gnome commander knows these kalding fighters, including the trio of elite berserkers, were put here to buy the shaman time to do their work. Obviously, the strategy is working. Among the thought-forms that Timear sends, one stands out: "worm."

Baracus slices off the last berserker's arm and punches the shoulder stump (20 damage), and the kalding goes down. Having dealt with the mooks at the bottom of the ramp, Makabo's guys start climbing the wall after Baracus.

Buluyagon says to Ybus and Erden, "We need Apo Tagipusuon up there, but she's not going to be able to climb that. We'll just have to suck it up and take those spikes!"

Baracus has reached the top of the cliff. Three shamans, including the one whose enchantment turned the ramp into a cheese grater. Protecting the shamans is another pair of axe-wielding berserkers. Behind them all is the portal, mounted on a dais swarming wih worms.

Zap! Ker-POW! Ybus blasts the horn-blower (B6) behind the dais that Baracus didn't spot before. The first beam shatters the signal horn, and the goatman takes the second beam in the face! With a roar, the kalding strides forward to join his fellows in defense of the shamans.

Battle Music

The group moves to Ybus' rope and begins to climb. Many hands help Apo Tagipusuon along, but the ancient healer is just not strong enough to pull herself up.

Makabo doesn't bother with the rope -- the warband leader scales the rock face nimbly to join his warriors who are already up top. Maggots and a huge graboid swarm across the plateau to meet the tikbalang charge! Battle cries mingle with the braying, neighing, and screams of the wounded and dying.

A black beam of malevolence streaks from the wounded shaman's finger and hits Baracus. The half-orc feels his limbs weakening, but his mastery of his own body's ki protects him from harm.

The second shaman (S2) wielding a gnarled wooden staff, conjures a whip of thorny vines and lashes out at Baracus, but the half-orc easily dodges.

The last shaman (S3), wielding a bone wand, levels greenish ray of sickening energy at Makabo, who is a few strides behind Baracus. The warband leader grunts and retches, but is undeterred.

The berserkers grip their greataxes but do not move from their defensive position in front of the shamans. They wait for you to come to them.

Battle Music

Makabo keeps trying to go to Baracus' aid. But one kalding berserker (B6) meets his charge, knocking the tikbalang warrior prone!

The kalding berserker Baracus has in an arm lock (B4) pulls its horned head back, and slams its bony forehead into the half-orc's face with a sickening crunch! (Ram crit! 8 bludgeoning after DR)

The other berserker (B5) takes advantage of the opening, and slashes at Baracus' hamstring with its greataxe.
(Hit. 3 slashing after DR.)

The maggots swarm all over the battlefield. They've not reached those of you who have just reached the top, but many of the tikbalang are engulfed! And the portal continues to disgorge the disgusting creatures!

The alpha graboid grabs Lingkon-Hok and lifts the big warrior up in an effort to gobble him up!

The kalding shaman (S2) with the gnarled staff hits Baracus with a greenish ray of sickness. The beleaguered half-orc's stomach turns and his head swims! (Ray of Sickness hits. 5 poison damage. Baracus fails save vs. Poisoned condition.)

The kalding shaman (S3) with the bone wand removes its amulet from its neck, takes the fallen shaman's amulet, and crushes both on the dais. Then without hesitation, it draws a wicked knife and slashes its own throat, and flops, convulsing, atop its fellow's corpse. Bathed with blood, the crushed amulets release dark magics that swirl around the tangled corpses, which begin to rise!

Hearing Apo Tagipusuon's call, Ybus shrugs and moves forward 10 feet into the maggot swarm, ignoring the writhing mass that crawls into his boots. He summons a ball of flame into his hand, then winds up and throws it at the dais. Where the ball lands, a giant bonfire erupts to engulf the shaman corpses.

To assist the raging mountain of muscle, Ybus summons a spectral bucket. "Confetti!" yells the halfling, tossing a glittering cascade of light upon Baracus's shoulders.

It's a brawl between Baracus and the pair of kalding berserkers (B4 & B5). They batter Baracus with their horns (3+5 bludgeoning after DR) but the half-orc stays standing strong!

The kalding berserker (B6) standing over Makabo slashes at the downed tikbalang obvious relish. (7 slashing after DR)

The portal continues to vomit maggots, which plague the tikbalang warband. Unlike the rat temple portal, you don't see any obvious energy source.

The alpha graboid finally gets the better of Lingkon-Hok. The big tikbalang dies horribly, chomped to bloody bits by the massive worm!

Apo Tagipusuon, Buluyagon, and a handful of tikbalang dash forward, heedless of the maggots, to rally around Makabo. The fighters naturally see the massive graboid as the biggest threat, but Apo Tagipusuon keeps yelling out warnings about the shamans.

The last shaman standing (S2), its hide hissing and blackened by Erden's scorching rays, looks down on the pulsating mound of flesh that Ybus set aflame. It already holds s serrated dagger in its hand but its devotion wavers. The shaman tosses the dagger aside and chooses to heal itself of its burns.

Battle Music

The two shaman corpses merge and rise as a jumble of limbs and heads, towering 9 feet tall! Heedless of Ybus' flames at its feet (6 fire damage), it grabs the recalcitrant shaman by the neck, lifts it off the ground, slashes its belly open with its claws, and bathes in its blood! The dais steps are covered in gore!

"Abomination!" Apo Tagipusuon cries!

"A Chosen of Kaliya-te," Buluyagon growls. "We're fucked!"

The berserker (B4) laughs in Baracus face, "To die is to gain! Each death fuels our victory! It's you that's fail--" That's all the goatman manages to say before the half-orc tosses it off the cliff to be dashed on the jagged rocks below.

The ear-shattering boom from Erden's spell rings out across the battlefield. The contraption continues to spin, but there is definitely a whining and grating to its motion now.

Battle Music

Makisig, the erstwhile warband leader, goes to his prince's aid, interposing himself between Makabo and the kalding berserker that knocked him down. (B6 takes 11 piercing)

Makabo leaps to his feet, fights shoulder to shoulder with Makisig. Both warriors are in the throes of the tikbalang war dance -- leaping and whooping, their weapons flashing. (B6 takes 14 slashing) The berserker is driven back by Makabo and Makisig's combined skill, but it's still very much in this fight, and still manages to prevent the two tikbalang leaders from rallying to Apo Tagipusuon.

This is also the intent of the other kalding berserker (B5) who heaves its greataxe at Baracus as the half-orc wades back into the fray. (22 vs. AC 17. Baracus takes 3 slashing after D.R.)

The maggots swarm over all the combatants! Two of them are able to burrow under Erden's skin! (7 piercing damage, and see OOC) Both berserkers are infested as well -- the maggots seem not to care who they devour!

The rest of the warband try their best to fend off the maggots as they gang up on the Alpha Graboid which has just grabbed another one of the kalding warriors with its slobbering, barbed tentacles.

Buluyagon stands in defense of Apo Tagipusuon as she begins to chant, signalling the beginning of some sort of cleansing rite. Will it banish the maggots? Help destroy the portal? Take out the Chosen of Kaliya-te? You can only guess.

The Chosen of Kaliya-te strides forward through the fire at its feet (6 fire damage) and descends the dais to tower over Buluyagon and Apo Tagipusuon. It lashes out with a clawed hand at Buluyagon, who does his best to shield the white-maned elder with his own body. Buloy suffers only a shallow gash across his chest, but the wound immediately blisters and blackens. (4 necrotic damage)

Baracus savages the filthy goatman with the First Sword! (savage crit for 13 piercing damage) The berserker stumbles, blood pouring in a crimson fan down its neck, before Ybus blasts a smoking hole in its chest. (One hit for 9 force damage) Incredibly, though obviously on its last legs, the creature still stands!

The swarming maggots cannot sway Erden's focus on the portal. The machine is rocked by another thunderous blast from the war mage! (23 thunder damage)

Buluyagon's kris flashes in the sun, but with his festering wound plaguing him, he is unable to land a hit against the abomination towering over him and Tagipusuon. The elder continues her ritual, her quiet strength rallying the tikbalang champions.

With Makisig's spinning javelin guarding his flank, Makabo dances past the berserkers to bring his kampilan to bear against the Chosen, but the monstrous kalding parries the blow with its gnarled staff.

The rest of the tikbalang warband have the alpha graboid surrounded, but their numbers are starting to wear thin as more and more of them fall prey to the maggot swarm.

The Chosen of Kaliya-te slams its staff into the ground, and a cloud of deadly poison belches forth, enveloping the combatants near the dais. (Baracus takes 11 poison damage) The tikbalang leaders retch and gag as the poison grips them. Of all of them, Buluyagon looks the worst, but the tattooed rascal fights on.

One of the berserkers (B6) goes down, convulsing painfully, its mouth frothing. The other survives the poison cloud, only to die an even more horrible death as the maggots burrowing through its flesh finally make their way to its heart.

Kalding signal horns call out, alarmingly close, from the main battle raging on the slopes below. Reinforcements will arrive soon! You must destroy the portal now!

With a snarl, the Chosen of Kaliya-te brings up its greatclub to deflect the deadly arc of Baracus' two-handed axe-swing. The axe bites into the ground, but Baracus reverses the momentum and rams his head into the towering goat-monster's face with a sickening crunch. (7 bludgeoning) The Chosen reels, fighting to maintain control of the poison cloud billowing across the battlefield.

The killing cloud rolls along, leaving dead tikbalang in its wake, their limbs contorted, lifeless eyes bulging from sockets, their equine faces covered with vomit.

The maggots swarm over everything, consuming flesh both dead and living. The alpha graboid finally meets its demise at the hands of the surviving tikbalang warriors.

Though Ybus acts quickly, the lone maggot chews a little deeper into his insides (6 damage) before he can exterminate it with fire (11 damage. Two Concentration checks please, Ybus.)

Ignoring the maggots tunneling through his flesh (5 damage) Erden concentrates his dwindling magical energies at the failing portal one last time. CRASH! BOOM! The spinning metal rings fly apart, flinging debris in all directions! (All roll DC 13 DEX saves or take 1 bludgeoning damage)

The portal is finally silenced, but the Chosen cares not one bit -- it only craves death, and lashes with all its might at everyone around it. Baracus turns aside a hammering blow from the greatclub. Blackened lesions blossom across Makabo's tattoed torso as he is caught by a swipe of the gnarled staff. Apo Tagipusuon kicks and thrashes against the Chosen's grip as the monster's third hand grabs her by the neck!

"Apo Tagipusuon! No!" Makisig charges the Chosen, leaping into the air to pummel the abomination with his hooves, only to be thwarted by a defensive sweep of its curved horns. But it's enough to create an opening for Buluyagon and Makabo's dancing blades (12 & 17 slashing) as they fight desperately to defend the elder.

Ybus reduces the Chosen's legs to bloody stumps. Then, with his father's axe, Baracus decapitates the abomination, sending its hideous, horned head flying in a fountain of dark ichor.

Apo Tagipusuon, herself near death, cannot spare any of her energy to perform healing for the wounded. But she does ensure that Erden is stable before seeing to the difficult task of cleansing this place of kalding defilement.

Makabo and Makisig and the handful of tikbalang survivors tend to their wounded as best they can. To the north, tikbalang victory gongs signal the end of the cult of Kaliya-te.

The day is won! What do you do?

Baracus paintings orcish runes with the Chosen's blood upon the ground where he slew him. He paints them on himself as well. So absorbed in his task that he notices almost nothing else going on around him. By the end, runes radiate out from the spot where the Chosen died, and Baracus's torso and face are covered in brutal, red calligraphy.

"Medic!" hails Ybus as he slides to Erden's slide and plants a wet, sloppy kiss full on the lips. "Wake up, Sleeping Beauty!"

Not seeing any immediate reaction, Ybus sighs. "I'm so sorry, I forgot mouthwash," he admits. He pops the stopper on a vial of healing liquid, tips the contents into his cheeks and gargles before bending over Erden and applying mouth-to-mouth, then pinching Erden's nose to force the gnome to swallow.

Erden's eyes flutter open and he realizes what Ybus is doing and nearly vomits, "Oh gods! What in the hell are you doing!?"

He shakes his head, not overly surprised, and climbs shakily to his feet to look over the battlefield and feels a huge weight sink down into his stomach to see how many Tikbalang are dead. He begins stumbling his way over to Apo Tagipusuon to see if there's anything he can do to help.

Baracus finds his friends afterward, moving slowly and awkwardly, but he holds his head up high and his voice is steady. He gestures to the field of battle:

"Just wait until we tell Rydler and Urban about this one."

Dawn finally breaks, painting the Bimari mountainside pink and gold. It's glorious! On the slopes below, tikbalang voices are raised in victory chants and ululating war cries. The battle is won, but at a huge cost -- the dead are without number.

Apo Tagipusuon groans under the strain of the cleansing ritual she is performing. The taint is strong, and she is weak, so very weak! It takes the better part of the morning before she declares it's safe enough to leave the site and return to the village. It will take several days and much work to fully cleanse the site. For now, it is time to begin funeral rites for Buluyagon, Lingkon-hok, and the rest of the fallen.
Quote:
Climbing the stepped rice paddies you come across a curious sight: the ritual cleansing of the remains of several tikbalang warriors who fell to kalding weapons.

"We tikbalang celebrate all the phases of life. Yes, even death, which is simply a prelude to rebirth. When a tikbalang warrior dies, even the least among us, they are placed on a wooden throne in a place of honor. The body is blindfolded and arrayed for war. About the neck is placed a garland made of the rarest blossoms, and the mummified heads of slain enemies. For eight days and nights the warrior's deeds are chanted amid feasting and strong, rice wine. On the ninth day the body is placed in a wooden coffin suspended from the sacred cliff so the dead may join the sky-gods." Buluyagon suddenly grabs Ybus' arm and implores all of you, "Promise me, if I should fall tomorrow, burn me. Don't let that maggot thing eat me!"
In the village, The PHULES are reunited and honored by the tikbalang. Many tales are told of the days' exploits. There is feasting to celebrate the hard-won victory. Songs of thanksgiving are sung to the sky-gods and the ancestors. There is also serious talk, in the wee hours, with Apo Mai'ngor and the other elders squatting around fires that have burned low, about the connection between the rat cult and the goat cult. What might it mean that these portals are being raised all over the world (as seen by Urban and Rydler)? What lies beyond, and what dark power that lurks there?

"Make sure you don't leave out all the gory details," says Ybus, showing his arm. "See, the little maggot-hole looks like a butt!"

Baracus is enjoying the attention of having slain the Chosen, and of being in a tribal culture again. No gold in anyone's veins, no crowds of strangers, no sewer streams in cobbled streets. The food is fresh and drink is potent.

He enjoys learning the fighting techniques of the tikbalang, and share his own techniques that are a mix Qing'lai and Orcish traditions. He compares weapons and tactics and battlecries and battle scars.

He also shares the story of his father and his quest to become worthy to join him on the endless fields of battle on the plane of Acheron. Likewise, he listens to the tikbalang stories and songs, and tries to learn their language, much to the laughter of everyone.

The PHULEs stay with the tikbalang tribe for eight days and nights to participate in the funeral rites, as well as assist in the cleansing ritual around the portal area. Finally, you are ready to bid Bimar farewell. The horse-men say you are welcome to visit them any time.

Where do you go from here?
Feb 29, 2020 2:48 am
"Pradesh"

The PHULES were discussing their next move, and Baracus had a direction in mind. He tied his topknot as he explained his proposal.

"The First Sword has been my stalwart companion, and now it is time for it to return home. The leaders of the Thousand Swords will appreciate its return."

"That's right!" declares Ybus, pointing his finger to the sky. "Time to take BA's betrothed home to papa!"

He whispers to Erden, "That's what he meant, right? I hadn't been paying attention."

Erden sighs, but he's not in the mood to explain, "Exactly what he meant," he confirms, "We have to take his love back home."

"Pradesh is as good a destination as any, so let's do it then," he says to Baracus.

Baracus will replenish his javelin supply before leaving, and say proper farewells to the people he has connected with over these last several days.
Mar 5, 2020 5:07 pm
Ybus gleefully prepares for the journey by sampling and asking about the various herbs and ingredients the tikbalang have at their disposal, seeking knowledge of how to make something to either smoke or imbibe.

Makabo and the surviving members of his warband join you as you visit Pula, the village brewmster. After many toasts to Buluyagon, Lingkon-hok, and the rest of the fallen, the red-maned tikbalang shows off his newest idea, bottles of his signature beer, each one bearing his likeness. He tells Ybus to take as many bottles as he wants.

Makisig gifts Baracus with a sheaf of javelins in a back quiver of his own design.

You formally take your leave of the elders. Just like when you first arrived here, you find them squatting in a semicircle in front of Apo Mai'ngor's longhouse. Apo Tagipusuon speaks a blessing over the five of you, touching the tattoos you received on the eve of the fateful battle.

Finally, you bid farewell to the village, and set off across the mountain, back to Pradesh.
