OOC:
I guess how you read info as meta is different then me versus ingame perception and knowledge, in game their god depiction is different then looks I can knock that off as just funny looking instead of suspect. From our first interaction what the Mayor has stated as 'fact' you've implied hadn't been fully transparent from the villager's reaction. Politicians are going to politic I get it so let just say he left stuff out since it would look bad on the village or him.
The hard evidence can also be flipped back at you though we have no 'hard evidence' this is all a big simple misunderstanding and they're harmless we definitely have a lot of conjecture of shadiness all about that we can button down after the fact. I don't know what good and wholesome religions have a spider exploding livestock as a 'blessing' and on top of that pretending like it's normal and nothing to see here since the pageant is really more important then a possible threat to the village which we know from his motivations he cares about is a flag.
Not going into the suggested 'do social combat for a round or two to see what happened route' when you have a mob pulling weapons brandishing them and by nature implying intent to use. With us knowing they can possibly lead to knicking us and running down the way of spiderfeed Isle that's honestly a hard pass and a bad idea unless we want to get sucker punched.
He says arrest, she's out in the sticks in a tetanus enabled cage in the middle of the night when she was assigned house arrest with guards and she's inside sleeping it off. Zymph looking for the boy in the fields around the Mayor's field from a meta standpoint is still conjecture as well though since we haven't gotten proof that's actually what they were up to. Also if it's totally normal why the threat of death if not let go?
Short version: Armed Mob, Intent to harm implied, Conflicting story (unsure if this was intentional or not). Requested option to talk it out first and deescalate when we're in harms way, hard pass. Priority on self preservation and the team is more important than the mission and possibility of discussion of legal means to kill us. If that's honestly construed as Meta gaming versus an ingame this don't feel right gut feeling from a Dwarf with the fact's you're put out in your posts I don't know what to tell you.
Meta: Now if you're just trying to say you just don't want me to sock this guy who looks like he's lying and trying to stall for something else or so we get stabbed in the face you can just say that. Also I've no idea what'd going on with Bruv until he lets me know. That would be the third time someone's poked us with a weapon so that's an dwarven stomping regardless. The living can explain things when they wake up hogtied.
