Aira closed her eyes and tried to focus her breath. After her nerves were more under control, she focused her attention on the situation.

After being briefly distracted by the sheer amount of bodies in the room, Aira kneels down to the closest corpse and gave him a quick inspection. The cause of death extremely obvious, but upon closer inspection Aira notices just how precise the bolt had been. The left eye is barely damaged, the bolt's unnaturally thin shaft slipped right into the man's eye socket and pierced his brain, this could be considered an extremely effective example of a lobotomy if it hadn't been flying at high speeds and pierced the back of his skull. Yet this is not the worst of it. Around the corners of the man's mouth Aira finds traces of a black foam substance, signs of a highly potent poison that was breathed in through the air.

Charlie after deciding to be useful, looks around at the mess the room was in. He notices a trail of large blood droplets leading to the door to the next room.
Mar 30, 2021 3:24 am
"Trigger," Charlie whispered, "Look." He pointed out the bloody trail, "It went through there."
Mar 30, 2021 3:28 am
"I'd be careful following whatever that thing is, it looks like it can poison those in its immediate vicinity. Luckily, I don't think we've been affected," she gave her body a quick once over, "yet." She eyed her countrymen littered across the floor. "What do you want to do now?"
Mar 30, 2021 3:32 am
Elena crouched down near the trail.
"Hopefully, these people got in a good shot or two and whatever caused this is injured," she looked up at Charlie and Savant, "I wouldn't put all my money on it, though."

As the words leave Aira's mouth, the bodies begin to sublimate.
Mar 30, 2021 10:35 am
Gharn, even with his prior job as a police force investigator, wasn't unaffected by the sight in the room.
"Well, this is quite the crime scene..." he exclaimed.
He began to investigate the room and when he approached a body, it began to sublimate.
"Oi, what the bloody hell?!" he exclaimed and tried to get the reason for this phenomenon.

Aira bent down again to get a closer look at the bodies as they began to disintegrate right before her eyes. She held her breath, of course, as not to breathe in her countrymen. As she gazed, she couldn't help but noticed the strangest thing...

Aira takes a moment to consider the why of the sublimation rather than the how.
What would happen to a person who lacks the core of their existence once they die? The voice had said that the only reason that she and the rest of the group still existed was the fact that the voice was continuing to sustain their existence, by watching.
So what happens when the voice stops watching? That thing stops existing. Does it happen all at once? Or would it happen slowly? As the voice slowly pushes the person in question out of its thoughts, soon to become as if it never existed.

"Well Trigger, there's only one way to find out if they wounded whatever did this to them..."
Gharn approached the door and checked it.
"Shall we then?"

Upon close examination of the door, Gharn discovers several tiny knots protruding from the top of the door frame. Each one likely suspending something on the other side of the door. They seem a bit rushed, Not consistently well hidden. However Gharn knows for certain, this door is trapped.

"Watch it people! This door is trapped! Anyone happens to be skilled in undoing traps?" Gharn asked a bit worried.

"I can try to help, but I can't promise anything. I'm still pretty shaken up over the people disintegrating and everything."

Disarm trap - try not to die - (1d20+5)

(7) + 5 = 12

After Savant did her best to disarm the traps, Elena decided that she would open the door herself.
"Let's not waste time lollygagging," she said as she grasped the doorknob.
She opened the door.
Apr 1, 2021 9:07 pm
Aira methodically cuts the knots way. On the other side of the door, the shattering of ceramics can be heard, grayish gas slightly seeps under the door but quickly dissipates. After a minute passes and the gass disperses, Elena opens the door.

The room for the most part is very empty, the majority of the floor space is free of any furniture, excluding several podiums along the walls that display vases that are in various states of decay. On the west wall is what was once a door. A multitude of its pieces lie on the floor, the door has a large hole in its center as if someone punched their way through it. A loud thumping can be heard beyond it.
Apr 2, 2021 10:33 am
Gharn looked at the gaping hole in the door and a mischievous smile was drawn on his face.

"Get into positions people..." he said and reached under his trenchcoat. He drew a little piece of felt from his clothes and threw it at the hole whispering "Minor illusion!". The little piece begun to shine and transform before everyone's eyes in a smaller version of Charlie as it went through the door.

The banging continues for a moment, then suddenly stops.
Silence fills the air for what seems like an unnecessary amount of time.

Then comes a series of angry grunts, followed by a group of loud footsteps rushing towards the broken door.
