Waves of arcane energy wash over you, some of your minds resist, some do not.

Lorne stood perfectly still, the only thing that moved on him was the droll which ran down his beard.

Varla jerkily paced around Presto and screamed, "Killed! Hammer! You! Doorknob! Him! Rooftop! Scared!"

Depending on which you passed or failed, here are the effects which you're under...

Discord: Each target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a target bickers and argues with other Creatures for 1 minute. During this time, it is incapable of meaningful Communication and has disadvantage on Attack rolls and Ability Checks.

Insanity: Each target must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the target is driven insane for 1 minute. An insane creature can't take Actions, can't understand what other Creatures say, can't read, and speaks only in gibberish, and erratically walks around in circles.

Stunning: Each target must make a Wisdom saving throw and becomes Stunned for 1 minute on a failed save.

Sheila's irritation grows. 'GGGggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggRRRRRRRRRRRRrr!" She growls and flips her hood back over her head. Instantly, she disappears. Her angry voice echoes as she heads toward the exit. "HATE! ORC..PIG..ORCS WITH MAGIC! HATE EM!..."

Ezz. Inactive for 4 months

"O... K..." Diana says in response to the sudden chaos. She sees that Presto may be the only other person not affected. "Presto! You got anything in that hat that can help us get everyone out of here? If not, we'll just have to do it the old fashioned way." Diana prepares to carry or drag Lorne out, since he's vulnerable but also docile.

OOC:

If Presto has a magical way to get folks out, Diana will hold off on dragging Lorne. If he doesn't, she'll drag Lorne completely out of the fort and then decide what to do next - probably go back in for someone else.

Presto the Magician

Presto can feel the strange runes pushing into his mind. Fortunately, his mind is sharper than most, and keeping unwanted things out of there isn't uncommon in his line of work, and it's an eventuality he has been well-trained for. It's a simple effort to push it away, but the others don't have the same practice.

Trying to think quickly, he turns to Diana. "Uh...ok. Close your eyes and don't open them until I say so!"

Presto closes his eyes tight as a shifting kaleidoscope of color grows from around them, encompassing (hopefully) all of their party.

OOC:

He casts Hypnotic Pattern, trying to catch everyone in a 30 foot cube. Everyone affected (everyone but Presto and Diana) must pass a DC 21 Wisdom save or be charmed, incapacitated, and unable to move.

Hopefully that will prevent any harm they might cause to each other and they won't wander off until the effect wears off.

Gripped with dread, Bobby's stands rooted to the spot, white-knuckled grip tightening on his club. But there's no strength in his limbs. His heart feels about to burst in his chest and his vision swims. Cold sweat flows in buckets as his gorge rises and his guts roil. On the verge of passing out, eyes brimmed with tears, his gaze is drawn towards Presto's magic pattern.

The barbarian crumples to the ground, sobbing like a baby.

My warning came too late!!! was the last clear thought in Hank's mind, before blanking out. The Bow drooped in his hand, all energy evaporated from a lack of focussed will and thought. Hank plopped to the ground, utterly defeated by his failure.

Presto's concern after Sheila disappeared is that it's some sort of insanity. He's hoping he can keep everyone calm and unmoving long enough for the effects to fade.

"Alright Diana, you can open your eyes now. Hopefully that will calm most of us down a little bit." He looks around, trying to find Sheila. "Did you see where Sheila went? She disappeared when it started."

He looks up at the wall of the fort and disappears, a slight fog in his body's shape taking his place. The fog falls gently to the ground and disperses as Presto reappears up on the wall. He looks around their general area as well as trying to find Sheila's footsteps.

Varla stopped her ranting and pacing at the sight of the fractal fresco.

Presto's impression of a spider climbing up the wall onto the battlements gave him a good vantage point to track Sheila.

If that was Misty Step, it'll fail thanks to the anti-teleportation warding. I'll say you Spider Climb instead. ;)
Roll me Perception to try and see those prints as well as to hear where she's grumbling from as she angrily storms away.
