Phandalin

Aug 18, 2016 11:14 pm
With a wagon full of goods you expect to be well compensated for all of the trouble that you've been through the last day or so. Your thoughts are still on finding your employer, Gundren Rockseeker, and although you're fairly certain where he's been taken, you have no idea where this castle is located. As the sun starts to get low in the sky the rutted track you've been traveling emerges from a wooded hillside and you catch your first glimpse of Phandalin.

The town consists of forty or fifty simple log buildings, some built on the old fieldstone foundation. More old ruins, crumbling stone walls covered in ivy and briars, surround the new houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in the past. Most of the newer buildings are set on the sides of the cart track, which widens into a muddy main street of sorts as it climbs toward a ruined manor house on a hillside at the east side of town.

As you approach, you see children playing on the town green and townsfolk tending to chores or running errands at shops. Many people look up as you approach, but all return to their business as you go by. Much more at ease now that he appears to finally be safe Sildar clears his throat as speaks up, "My friends, let us secure lodgings. I'm told the local inn is very quaint."

Jumping from the wagon, Sildar motions to a large, newly built roadhouse of fieldstone and rough-hewn timbers. A sign on the front above the door reads, "Stonehill Inn".
OOC:
It's late in the day, you have time enough to visit two places before finding someplace to sleep for the night. You have goods in the wagon that belong to "Barthen's Provisions" and "Lionshield Coster".

"Well, I would like to these goods delivered tonight, so we don't have to worry about their safety." Colten declares as the wagon passes the inn. "Anyone in the mood to talk to merchants? Or should I volunteer?"
Aug 19, 2016 3:07 am
Well I say we get these supplies to there right full owner get payed. I'm a bit tuckered out good chances lad I will be getting a room for the night at the inn. Shall we find the people to return the goods to so I can rest for the rest of the day?
Aug 20, 2016 1:11 am
Luka hops off the wagon, and stretches out a bit. I can help with delivering goods. We can split up here, and regroup at the inn.
Aug 20, 2016 1:26 am
"Thank you, my lady." Colten said as he hopped off the cart with his equipment. "I'll try to secure lodging for you lot."

Finally, a real bed to sleep in!
Aug 22, 2016 11:17 pm
Entering the Stonehill Inn Colten finds that the common room is filled with locals nursing mugs of ale and cider all while eyeing the nobleman with more than a bit of curiosity. "How can I help you, Sir?" a cheerful voice says from behind the counter. "Food, beverages, a place to stay, perhaps? the young man behind quickly flips through a loosely bound book, before shaking his head slowly, "One moment, please" he begs. "Trilena? Who booked all of the rooms?"

From behind a heavy curtain, a woman enters, and moves alongside the man. "It was Mr. Hallwinter." With a hint of exasperation in her voice she continues, "I told you, Tolben, that he requested rooms for himself and his party." Noticing Colten on the other side, she flashes a broad smile, "You'll have to forgive my husband, with all of the trouble the Redbrands have been causing about town, his mind has been a little elsewhere lately."
Quickly realizing that there are too many supplies to move by hand to either of the warehouses, Delg and Luka decide to visit the Lionshield Coster first and then return their original cargo to Barthen's afterwards. Directly across the square from the Stonehill Inn is a modest looking trading post, a sign shaped like a wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it hangs above the front door positively identifying it as the Lionshield. As you both enter the building you're curtly greeted, "State yer business. Unless yer one of them Redbrands in which case, bug off!!"
Aug 23, 2016 3:51 am
"Many greetings from House Duveau of Waterdeep, ma'am." Colten strolled nonchalantly up to the counter with the warmest smile he could muster while displaying his signet right before the innkeepers. "I am Colten Duveau. My wine skin is rather dry at the moment, and will require a refill from your finest stock. I'd also have the largest of the rooms that Sir Hallwinter reserved, along with the softest bed available. You may send any and all of my expenses back to my house, and they will compensate you richly for it. In fact, if it makes things easier, charge me on a separate bill."
OOC:
Colten is using his background feature: KEPT IN STYLE While you are in Waterdeep or elsewhere in the North your house sees to your everyday needs. Your name and signet are sufficient to cover most of your expenses; the inns, taverns, and feast halls you frequent are glad to record your debt and send an accounting to your family's estate in Waterdeep to settle what you owe. This advantage enables you to live a comfortable lifestyle without having to pay 2 gp a day for it, or reduces the cost of a wealthy or aristocratic lifestyle by that amount. You may not maintain a less affluent lifestyle and use the difference as income-the benefit is a line of credit, not an actual monetary reward.
Aug 23, 2016 10:43 pm
Tolben stares silently at Colten's signet as the nobleman speaks, unsure of what to make of the situation. Trilena, on the other hand, is unfazed. "Well met, Sir Duveau." she says warmly "and welcome to the Stonehill Inn. We will have your room prepared shortly and your wineskin filled with the finest we offer." She takes Colten's wineskin and hands it to Tolben, "The good stuff for Sir Duveau, if you would." Snapping to attention the short man smiles and heads off into the back.

"And what do we owe the honor of such of visit, Sir Duveau, if you don't mind me asking. It's not very often we have guests of such stature visiting our little inn."
Aug 23, 2016 11:38 pm
"I am travelling to hone my swordplay. It's one of the few things that I haven't been bored of. Unfortunately, I have yet to meet a worthy foe in this region." Colten replied with a smile, "Saving Sir Hallwinter from a band of goblins wasn't exactly part of my plan, but it was a good distraction."
Aug 24, 2016 10:19 pm
Luka fixes her hair, and steps forward. Yes sir. My name is Luka, and I'm a traveler. Along with my party, after clearing out a cave of goblin bandits, we discovered some goods that had your shops emblem. We believe them to be stolen, so we have returned to town with them.
Aug 24, 2016 11:53 pm
In the Stonehill Inn

Trilena leans over the bar and motions Colten closer. "If you are looking to hone your skills, perhaps you'll get your chance while you're in our little town." She goes on to tell of the Redbrands, a gang of thugs who run Phandalin, "Murdered Thel Dendrar for standing up to them when they was harassing his wife. Good man, Thel, skilled woodcarver...". Trilena trails off a bit, sadness in her voice as she continues, "...anyway, his wife and kids haven't been seen in a tenday. Just know them bastards had something to do with it."

Just as she finishes Toblen reappears from the back with a full wineskin which he hands to his wife. Wiping a few tears from her eye Trilena hands the wineskin back to Colten. "Probably not up your standard, but this is the best we have to offer, Sir Duveau."
OOC:
While not nearly up to par with the wine Colten is used to drinking it is probably the best one could expect to find here in Phandalin

In Lionshield Coster

"SIR???" the woman bellows as she turns around allowing you to get your first real look at her. A middle aged women, with slightly graying hair, she looks at the pair of you for a moment to gauge your reaction before adding "I do guess my voice is a little rough these days, yes?"

Moving around the counter her face suddenly takes on a serious expression as she looks the both of you up and down. "Stolen goods of mine, ya say? In a goblin cave, ya say?" Her hand resting on the hilt of her blade she takes a single step back and asks, "And how do I know you and some of your Redbrand friends didn't ambush my shipment? Trying to sell me back my own goods?"
Aug 25, 2016 9:42 am
Colten takes a sip of the wine and savors its tang. Not the best, although it met his expectation of Phandalin's finest wine. Thankfully for him, the wine was at least drinkable.

"Are there no nobles in this land to setting such unsavory matters?" Colten asked, furrowing his brows at the mentioning of bandits. "No laws? No soldiers?"
Aug 26, 2016 8:05 pm
Luka stiffens up, and shakes her head. Oh my goodness! I apologize madam. W-we aren't associated with these Redbrands. I myself am a cleric, and a member of the church of Sune. Luka takes out her holy symbol of Sune, and presents it. I even work at the Neverwinter orphanage, so I, nor my companions, are thieves.
Aug 27, 2016 10:13 pm
In a conversational volume and tone, I look over to Luka Ok, a weak and too small dwarf and a cleric walks in and she's ready to skewer us. A bit on edge this one. Looking over to the lady Ya may be in need of a vacation. under my breath I add. .... and a hug.
Aug 31, 2016 10:02 pm
In the Stonehill Inn

"Nobles?! We don't get a lot of noblemen visiting our little town, Sir Duveau" Trilena answers and before she can continue her husband breaks in. "And that Wester sure doesn't want to do his job and stand up to those thugs. Worst townmaster I've ever seen!" he says before running off to a few of the customers who have been impatiently waving him down.

Trilena explains "What Tolben says is true, Harbin Wester hasn't done a single thing to try and stop the Redbrands from terrorizing the town. It's almost as if he scared to even try." She shakes her head and sighs, "Enough of me boring you with our troubles, Good Sir. We do hope you enjoy your stay and if there's anything we can do for you, please let us know."
In Lionshield Coster

The women, apparently convinced that the two of you aren't part of the Redbrand gang takes a more relaxed stance as her hand moves away from her weapon's hilt. "So you say you've recovered some goods belonging to me, eh?" she asks as she starts towards the door, "I do hope you gave them goblins hell!"

Walking towards the wagon the woman introduces herself as Linene Graywind, owner and proprietor of Phandalin's Lionshield Coster's local branch. A human woman, appearing to be in her mid thirties, comes across as tough and sharp witted, and not someone to be taken lightly. After a careful inspection of the goods she says, "Looks to be just about the entire shipment that was supposed to arrive about a tenday ago. Make you both a deal, help me lug this stuff into the store and I'll give you full price for it. Hell, might even cut you a deal on some equipment if you're looking."
OOC:
Let's see if szemely can hit the "Post" button this time.
Aug 31, 2016 11:57 pm
"Perhaps I will pay this Wester fellow a little visit. If this problem isn't too out of the way, I will consider helping." Colten yawns audibly, "Oh my, excuse my manners, but it is getting rather late. I'll see what I can do about this whole Redbrand situation tomorrow when I am a little more rested. Feel free to discuss this matter with the rest of my travelling companions whenever they get here and have nice evening."

With that, the young nobleman saunters off to his room and prepares for a good night's sleep on a real bed.

ya got your self a deal lass. I start lifting a box and start struggling with it right away. Barely getting it off the back of the wagon near dropping it in the process. these are a lot heavier than they look. Opening up the box for everyone to see why it was so heavy. In the box is some loaves of bread and a small pouch of dried meal, in total the box was half full. Umm this may take longer without the rest of our friends.
Sep 2, 2016 9:54 pm
Luka helps with taking goods into the shop. Through some straining, I'm sure we can handle. At least we get some good compensation. Hope the others have had as much success.
Sep 3, 2016 4:41 pm
While Colten has obviously spent nights in far finer lodgings the accommodations that have been made for him at this remote inn are more than acceptable. Freshly cleaned sheets and a comfortable pillow await the nobleman for when he decides to turn in and a bottle of wine and some assorted fruit have been brought in for his enjoyment as well.
With Linene's help, Delg and Luka finish hauling in the goods belonging to Lionshield Coster. "Many thanks to the both of you" she offers, wiping the sweat from her brow with her sleeve. She reaches into her front pocket and slowly starts counting out coins, "48, 49… and, here we go 50" and hands the payment over to Luka. She thanks you both once again and reminds you that if either of you are in need of weapons or armor to come by the next day, a "Getting late now, but if you two stop by in the morning I'll offer you a five percent discount on whatever I have in stock. Oh, and if I were you two, I'd avoid the Sleeping Giant tap house, nothing but trouble, that!"
OOC:
On to Barthen's Provisions then?
Sep 3, 2016 6:50 pm
Aye, and why would that be?
Sep 3, 2016 7:05 pm
"It's a frequent hang out for some of those Redbrand thugs. Nothing there put trouble." Linene responds as she starts to close up shop.

"Of course if you're the type the likes looking for trouble, then that's the place you want be."
Sep 5, 2016 9:53 pm
Luka nods, and accepts the payment. Thank you. That information is really helpful. Now, let us move on Sir Delg.
Sep 6, 2016 4:52 am
Aye very well lass. I'm in need of a good drink before I rest my bones to bed.
Sep 7, 2016 12:06 am
Finishing thier business at the Lionshield Coster, Luka and Delg make the short trip across the square and up the road to Barthen's Provisions. As they enter the building two clerks are going about their business of closing the place up for the evening. "If you're here to buy something, better make it quick, we're just about ready to lock up for the night."
Sep 7, 2016 2:48 pm
Eerrr umm... I thought the inn was this way. Ahh ether way I need two rations to replace the ones I used on my journey. Then that should be all. Need to get over to the inn get some food and sleep for the night. after purchasing the rations I wait for Luka so we can make our way to the inn.

Sorry I'm a forgetful dwarf.

Delg and Luka are returning the rest of the goods to Barthen's as per your contract with Gundren Rockseeker
Sep 14, 2016 11:37 pm
The two clerks exchange awkward looks with each other as Delg and Luka stand silently for what seems like hours. Eventually the realization of why the two had stopped at Barthen's in the first place pops into Luka's mind and she relates the story of their harrowing adventure to this point. Unimpressed and looking to close up shop so they can get to their homes the two clerks reluctantly trudge out to the wagon and quickly look over the goods.

"I think Elmar agreed to thirty gold for this run, didn't he Thistle?" one of the clerks asks the other. Thistle, which you're not sure is his real name or just a nickname due to his atrociously styled hair, simply grunts and hands over the coin.

"Be sure to stop by in the morning when Elmar's around, he may have some more work for you" the talkative of the two adds before quickly returning to the shop.

You both find your way to the Stonehill Inn where the proprietors welcome you and hand you the keys to your room.
OOC:
Long rest for everyone….
You wake the next morning to the smell of fresh eggs and bacon wafting up from the kitchen.
Sep 15, 2016 1:12 am
Characteristic of a nobleman, Colten will be sleeping in unless someone comes to wake him. The nobleman is sleeping in his smallclothes under the quilt and covers, his fancy garments neatly folded and placed in the drawers, his traveling cape hung over the coat-rack.
Sep 15, 2016 2:05 pm
Ahh the morning. Time to get the day started. Breakfast is the most important meal... ahh I'd better get to it. Delg heads down stairs and pays for a meal and in dwarven custom, gets a mead for the meal as well. Taking his time to consume his food he keeps an eye out for his other traveling companions.
Sep 17, 2016 10:18 pm
The door to the inn opens and a large figure clinks as it strolls into the common area. A grey, weatherworn cloak hangs on the figure's shoulders, and a hood is pulled up over its head casting a shadow over its face. Strapped to its back is an equally large great sword. The figure strolls up to the bar, and puts a worn scrap of paper onto the counter, "I am looking for Gundrin Rockseeker. I was told he can be found in Phandalin, and that this is Phandalin." Their voice is oddly tinny and metallic.
OOC:
To those who've never seen a warforged before, Etch might appear to be a large man who is wearing well-crafted, tight fitting plate armor... with a layer of scale mail and a few spines fitted over top. An attentive viewer might also notice that in the spaces between the fingers and joints there is some kind of sinewy wood-like material.

The woman behind the bar tilts her head over so slightly to the side as she looks Etch up and down, not quite sure what to make of the figure that stands before her. "You are correct. This is indeed Phandalin. As for the man you're looking for, I am unaware of anyone with that name." She pauses for a moment, head slowly tilting to the opposite side, eyes squarely set on Etch's face.

"Perhaps the visitor can help you" she motions towards a dwarf, enjoying a meal at one of the tables. She takes a few steps back, but doesn't take her eyes off of Etch.
"Sir, Duveau!" a voice yells out as Colten hears a gentle wrapping at the door. "I'd be honored if you'd join me for this morning's meal. I would like to dispense of the reward owed for my rescue and speak to you further of the situation here in town that you and your friends may be able to help with."
Sep 19, 2016 10:28 pm
"Huh? Oh right. . ." Colten was a little irked by being roused out of a pleasant dream. "I'll be there in a moment!"

And by a moment, he meant the better half of an hour. As usual, Colten takes his time fiddling with various items of his clothing until they look acceptable on him, likely comparable to a knight donning his plate armor. Strapping his rapier snugly onto his belt, he strolls down to the dining hall fashionably late as usual.
Sep 19, 2016 10:33 pm
Etch turns with awkward precision. It stares for a moment at the dwarf before striding across the room, the volume of its footfalls betraying the massive weight of its body. Arriving at the dwarf's table Etch stands across from Delg. It puts the scrap of paper on the table and says "Are you Gundren Rockseeker?"

The scrap of paper is a worn bit of parchment torn from a notice board. The ink is mostly rubbed off, but it looks to be a job posting signed by -dren -ockseeker.

As Colten arrives at the bottom of the stairs he sees Sildar sitting at a table slowly picking at his morning meal, his attention squarely set on a large armored man who appears to be talking to a stunned looking Delg.
Sep 21, 2016 12:49 am
"It's too early for all this commotion." Colten says nonchalantly as he sat now next to Sildar. He casts a sideways glance at the tin-man with an eyebrow raised. "How is your morning, Sir Hallwinter?"
Sep 21, 2016 1:42 am
umm... you be taken to me? Cause I am not Gundren. In truth I'm surprised you knew I was a Dwarf. Most think I'm a halfling. Ah that aside no me boy I'm not Gundren but I am with some people looking for him. Who sent ya our way?
OOC:
So I have a Str score of 4. So I'm rping it off as I'm an anemic dwarf. Hehehe

"I am looking for Gundren. His note said he was in need of service." Etch stands up straight. It takes the scrap of paper back off the table and stuffs it into a pouch hanging at its hip, "Is Gundren lost? I have some experience tracking wolfmen. Perhaps tracking dwarves is the same."
Sep 21, 2016 1:55 am
"Doing well, Sir Duveau" Sildar responds. "Please, have a seat and let me settle my debt to you and your friends."

Reaching into his jacket's pocket he produces a small pouch and gently places it on the table, pushing it forward toward Colten. "You'll find a few extra coins as well. Compensation for the very fine wine you sacrificed for my well being." He pauses and glances towards the other table before leaning forward and quietly stating.

"Curious fellow, that. His movements... aren't quite natural."
OOC:
53GP in the pouch.
Sep 21, 2016 2:29 am
"Seems to me that Gundren is quite the popular figure."Colten mused, taking the bag of coin from Sildar. "The good people of Phandalin has shared with me their plight of banditry, thus putting me in an impasse. Should I continue with our quest to search for Gundren, or turn my attention to those who require my aid?"
Sep 21, 2016 6:04 am
Well lad, Gundren was transporting goods when his wagon was attacked by goblins and taken away. When we got the the cave we got more information on where they took Gundren. We came to town to get some information before heading out to rescue him. Perhaps you stick with me till I find more people I was traveling with. Taking a look around the room I see Colton Colton, when ya got a minute come on over. turning back to the large noisy fella. I state Colton's a good lad he might also like to talk to you.
Sep 21, 2016 12:25 pm
Etch looks over at the other table, and back to Delg, "Alright." It remains standing, only moving to occasionally turn its head to the other table to see if they have moved.
Sep 21, 2016 1:49 pm
"Oh for goodness sake. Can't a man have breakfast in peace?" Colten says as he reluctantly gets off his seat, leaving his breakfast behind. He strolls up to Etch to study the man's face. "Yes, I am Colten of House Duveau who hails from Waterdeep, and you look. . .lost. How may I help you?"
Sep 21, 2016 1:55 pm
"I am looking for Gundren Rockseeker." Etch takes the scrap of paper out of his pouch and hands it to Colten as if the worn out notice board posting will explain the situation, "I am a hunter, and seek to assist him." While Etch wears a hood to conceal his face, up close it's easy enough to get a good look at him. His face appears to be a metal plate, or covered by a meal plate perhaps, carved to look like a face. A faint blue light glows from within the eye slits, and the origin of the glow moves as Etch studies Colten's face in return.
Sep 21, 2016 1:59 pm
I watch them while absently putting bits of food into my mouth thinking well this will be interesting.
Sep 21, 2016 2:43 pm
"Well we are currently looking for Gundren Rockseeker as well. As far as we know, he was taken to Cragmaw Castle, although no one knows where this castle is at the moment. I plan to ask around town today for that particular piece of information, and hopefully appease some townsfolk while doing it." Colten explained to the tin-man. "Do you understand?"
Sep 21, 2016 2:53 pm
"I will accompany you then." Etch places the scrap of paper in its pouch, "What assistance do the townsfolk require?"
Sep 22, 2016 8:46 pm
"Well, I've been told that a gang by the name of Redbrands has been harassing the good people of Phandalin. I plan teach these ruffians a lesson." Colten replied. "Will you join me, Master Delg? Sir Hallwinter?"
Sep 23, 2016 1:27 am
Stretching his shoulder, as if to test its readiness, Sildar stands from his chair. "Now that I am in Phandalin I must begin my quest for the missing wizard, Iarno Albrek, who was sent here two months ago by the Lord's Alliance. Of course, there's no reason that I can't do a little investigating into that while accompanying you."
Sep 23, 2016 1:02 pm
Etch turns to face Colten, "Where are the Redbrands?"

"That, I am not sure. From the sounds of it, everywhere." Colten holds up a finger at the tin-man before getting up to speak with the bar-keep. With a hushed voice, he leans over the counter slightly at the woman. "Our little company wishes to lend Phandalin a hand in the bandit problem. Where should we begin?"
Sep 23, 2016 4:05 pm
Etch, not understanding the gesture with the finger, gets up and follows Colten to the bar. After briefly examining his posture, it too leans on the counter and looks towards the barmaid. Etch says nothing.

Trilena looks past Colten and starts to survey the room, leaning forward to meet him when she's confident that she won't be overheard. "Groups of 'em will sometimes hang out at The Sleeping Giant an establishment just down the road." she says quietly before taking another quick peek about the place only to see Etch standing directly behind the nobleman. Her eyes widen, clearly not sure what to make of the tall, quiet, figure.

She continues to talk to Colten, but her eyes never leave Etch, "If you don't feel like taking your chances there I suggest you stop by and see Qelline. Her boy was almost captured by a couple of the bastards when the young 'ne happened upon a hidden tunnel in the woods near the manor. She has a small farm on the edge of town."

Yes, everyone should have had a long rest overnight.

"Thanks for the information. I don't suppose you know where Cragmaw Castle is as well?" Colten asked, although he did not have much faith in whatever answer Trilena had to give. After all, this was but a small town in the middle of nowhere.
Sep 23, 2016 5:06 pm
"Never heard of it" Trilena answers.
Sep 23, 2016 5:11 pm
"Off we go then. Thank you for the hospitality. I'll be keeping my room here for a few days." Colten turns around just to see Etch standing right behind him. The nobleman rolls his eyes then continues to walk, assuming that the rest of his party would follow.
Sep 23, 2016 5:24 pm
Following along behind Colton, Etch adds, "It is easier to find a place if you ask people that know where it is."

Which lead are you following up on? The Sleeping Giant, or the farm?

Well we can't get anything by you. said with a grin. Preparing my belongings to follow.
Sep 24, 2016 2:53 am
It's still fairly early in the day as you leave the Stonehill Inn and walk out into the bright morning sunlight. As you make the short trip to Qelline's farm the townspeople of Phandalin go about their business. You catch parts of conversations as you walk by, mostly mundane type chatter, or a comment or two on the large armored man, but when Sildar overhears the name of the wizard he is looking for he quickly excuses himself.

"I'll will meet with you at the farm, I shall only be a few moments behind" he assures you as he heads over to a group of people in front of the Townmaster's Hall.

A few minutes later you arrive at your location. A female halfling is busily sweeping away on her front porch as a young child tugs at her jacket. "Can I, Mom? Can I?" he pleads. The women ignores the plea and shoos the boy away as she sees you approach.

"And what can I do for you gentlemen this morning?" she asks, resting her chin on the end of the broom handle.
Sep 24, 2016 4:41 am
"I overheard some rumors that you could tell me more about the Redbrands." Colten said as he strolled up to the woman. With a hushed voice, he added, "We seek to end their menace for the good people of Phandalin."
Sep 25, 2016 12:23 am
"Rumors about rumors, I suppose" the halfling says with a chuckle, tossing her broom to the side. "Name's Qelline Alderleaf" she says as she gives a half hearted bow, "And anyone willing to stick their necks on the line to confront those bandits are friends of mine!"

She takes a seat on a box just outside of the front door of her house and invites all of you to do likewise. "Feel free to stack a few if you're needing there, big guy" Qelline says to Etch. Once everyone is settled she tells of how her son, Carp, was playing in the woods near the old Tresendar Manor and came across a tunnel hidden away in some brush. "Says some big ol' bandits came out of the tunnel when he was there and starting talking to a couple of those Redbrands. He's figures there's a lair underneath the manor." Qelline starts to laugh, "Of course he's ten, he figures there are secret lairs just about anywhere he looks, although he was genuinely scared when he ran back to tell me. "

"Could have him point you off in the right direction if you'd like. Probably amount to nothing, but may be worth your time."
Sep 25, 2016 4:44 am
"Who is their leader and what should I watch out for if I get in there?" Colten asked curiously.
Sep 25, 2016 2:33 pm
Etch stacks a couple crates as the woman suggested, then stands stoically beside them.
Sep 25, 2016 7:47 pm
"You'd be useful as a farm hand, big guy!" the halfling quips, raising an eyebrow at the sight of Etch's handy work.

"I don't even know if these thugs have a leader or if that tunnel even exists. No one has bothered to even look since Carp came up with that story." Qelline responds to Colten's query. Before she can get another word in a voice from inside the house yells out, "Ain't no story, Ma!! And I can prove it!!"

Qelline sighs and shakes her head, leaning forward toward Colten, "Fancies himself an adventurer, that one."
Sep 25, 2016 7:56 pm
"I am a hunter, not a farm hand."
Sep 26, 2016 2:08 am
"Well, let's see how much of your little story holds true, shall we Carp?" The nobleman said while standing up. There did not seem to be much more Qelline had to offer, and Colten never really liked children. They were humanoids without the behavior, and had an alien quality about them: lacking in the ability to reason and oblivious to etiquette.
Sep 26, 2016 11:56 am
Etch shouts, "Yes, come out here and prove to us the tunnel exists." After all, it was always better to get proof of its whereabouts before chasing after a beast.
Sep 26, 2016 5:08 pm
Clapping my hands over my ears Do ya have taken go and shout like that?
Sep 26, 2016 5:10 pm
Etch turns to Delg and speaks at just above a whisper, "I was unaware stealth was required in the present circumstance. If we are ambushed, I will protect you from your assailants. Worry not."

My ears boy, I worry about my ears not some blasted ambush. Turn your volume down a bit.
Sep 27, 2016 5:21 pm
Colten quietly awaits as his "companions" shout at each other.
Sep 27, 2016 6:32 pm
Well seems he can show us the way then. As long as his mother is OK with it? Perhaps you would be kind enough to get your son to show us the way?
Sep 27, 2016 6:50 pm
" If he has found their lair, I'll not let him be slain by the beasts that threaten the town." Etch ensures his volume matches Delg's.
Sep 27, 2016 11:38 pm
"Carp! Come on out here, Lad. I'd like you to tell these folks where you found that tunnel of yours."

After a few seconds pause you hear some shuffling of feet from within the building before the door swings open. A young halfling, his shirt mis-buttoned, and his pants torn in more than a few places, walks out onto the porch. Staring at his feet he mumbles to his mother, "I can show 'em, Ma, but I don't need 'em protecting me! Cori and I can handle ourselves."
Sep 28, 2016 1:21 am
Of all things in the world, TWO halfling children? What have I done to deserve this torture?

"Err. . .come on kids. Let's see what you've . . .got?" Colten said with an eyebrow raised, clearly uncomfortable with his prospect in the near future.
Sep 28, 2016 12:37 pm
You hear the sound of chopping wood in the background stop and the sound of running feet begin. A moment later, Cori rushes into the room following Carp. Slightly out of breath and carrying a beat-up battleaxe in his left hand, Cori is short even for a halfling at a diminutive 2'9". Despite the weight, he appears to have totally forgotten the axe in his hand.

The young halfling, wearing no shirt and with his pants stained in a dozen places, looks momentarily taken aback when he sees his mothers guests. His eyes brighten when he sees Delg.

"With facial hair like that, folk are going to think you are pretending to be a dwarf", he says in Halfling with a wink and a laugh. "How did you get mixed up with a crew like this?" he says, indicating to the rest of the party.
OOC:

Oh I'm just a big jokestermistake Hahaha
Sep 30, 2016 1:37 am
Unable to understand what Cori is saying, Colten sighs and begins to walk, hoping that Carp is slightly more enthusiastic about it that he is.
Sep 30, 2016 2:22 am
Carp, finally looking up from his feet, yells at Colten as the nobleman starts to walk away. "Hey wait, mister! I'll show you where the tunnel is." Before his mother can blurt any objections Carp is halfway through the family's field, running as quickly as his little legs will carry him. Coming to the edge of the woods, which is about fifty feet from the farm, he stops waiting for the others to join him.

"It's this way! It's this way!" he yells, stealth obviously not being one of his strong suits. "Ma said I could go with you, right Cori?"
Sep 30, 2016 3:36 am
Colten "hurries" after the boy. Except he never is hurried, because he is a nobleman. With long, leisurely strides, he follows, his cape fluttering behind him in the gentle breeze.
Sep 30, 2016 12:20 pm
"Don't worry. I will look after him," Cori says to his mother as he throws on a shirt and grabs his pack.

"Slow down you big galoot, or I will drag you back myself" he shouts ahead at Carp as he sprints out the door after him.
Sep 30, 2016 1:15 pm
Etch lumbers after Carp, moving faster and more urgently than Colten. When Cori shouts, Etch slows his speed and responds, "I think you will find I am too heavy for you to drag. I will slow my pace instead."

With everyone gathered at the edge of the woods Carp begins to lead you along a barely noticeable trail, easily ducking beneath branches, and deftly working his way through the thick undergrowth. In a matter of moments the excited young halfling has outpaced the group and you quickly lose site of the boy.
Oct 1, 2016 1:26 pm
Etch picks up the pace, throwing caution and stealth to the wind and lumbering after the boy as quickly as he can manage. Trampling and forcing his way through the undergrowth.

While Cori frantically searches for traces of his younger brother, Colten and Etch both notice movement in the brush up ahead. Leaves fly and twigs snap as something zig zags through the undergrowth about thirty feet ahead. Behind the commotion two figures approach, "Get back here ya little brat!! We need to talk to you."
OOC:

Etch calls out as he lumbers towards the men, "The child is with us. What do you need to speak with him about?"
Oct 4, 2016 10:55 pm
Colten takes a few graceful strides forward, hand on his sword's ornate hilt. A sword is truly a nobleman's weapon, for it is an unspoken threat that speaks louder than any word. With overwhelming confidence, Colten goes ahead to greet the two figures, whoever they might be.

The two men, initially startled by Etch's call out to them, quickly turn their attention to the tall armored figure. "That kid yours?" one of them asks. "He needs to stop poking his nose where it ain't belong." The second man notices Colten striding towards them. "Easy there, fancy boy. Wouldn't want ya to get hurt!" he warns as he slowly draws a beat up looking sword. "Or maybe I woulds!"

Just then you here more frantic rustling through the brush as Carp goes tearing between Etch and Colten, "Mooooommmm"

Two more figures can be seen in the distance approaching the first two.
Oct 5, 2016 11:23 pm
"Is terrorizing children part of your modus operandi?" Colten said with a smooth tone, though clearly audible. The hand that rested on the sword hilt seemed relax, almost gentle. It's one thing to kill a bugbear or a goblin, but these are men.
Oct 5, 2016 11:28 pm
Etch's shoulders click faintly as it bends them at an unnatural angle to smoothly draw the greatsword slung over its back, "If your wish is to harm another, I will be forced to exact justice upon you. Our quarry are the ones called red brands, are you they?"

The two other men join their friends and don't appear to be in the mood for conversation. "Let's just deal with these clowns and get back." All four draw their weapons and rush in.

Delg, anticipating the attack, quickly launches off two bolts of fire that each miss far to the right. Stunned at first, the man now grins, thinking that him and his friends have found some easy prey. He closes on Etch and swings his blade wildly back and forth finding a weak spot in the hunter's armor.

Rushing forward to meet the attack Colten flashes his rapier and lunges at one of the men only to catch a bit of his clothing. Unfazed, the man launches into a series of attacks which the swordsman easily bats away.

"What you think you're doing little one!" the bandit yells out as he sees Cori charging forward. It's not until Cori's blade slashes deep into his thigh that the bandit realized his mistake; this is not the same little kid they had been chasing a moment ago. Screaming in pain he lashes back at the barbarian and gets lucky as the tip of his blade slides in between two of the halfling's ribs.

The satisfied look on Etch's attacker's face is quickly replaced with one of horror as the unfamiliar smell of ozone fills the air around the hunter's sword. "What in the…." he mutters before the electric blade slices across his chest. The last unengaged man rushes to his companion's side swinging defensively as the injured man staggers about.

The last two men don't stand a chance as Colten and Etch team up to quickly dispatch the hunter's attacker. Colten lunges forward, attacking from the side his rapier easily penetrates the man's abdomen. Lurching forward in pain the bandit can barely make out Etch's words before the electric blade cuts him down.

Not to be outdone, Cori, with an outburst of profanities that would make a drunken dwarf blush, brings his axe straight down on his foe's leg, slicing it clean through.

Popping his head above the brush Carp, seeing that the situation has been handled, strides out into the open. "Mess with us, will ya?" he asks triumphantly, arms across his chest. "Come on, guys! Let me show you that tunnel!" he yells and once again takes off running through the underbrush.

Following closely behind the young halfling he eventually leads you to what appears to be a fairly well used tunnel entrance. Carp makes a move to enter the tunnel and then suddenly stops. "Someone else want to lead the way?"
Oct 17, 2016 11:40 pm
"It may be wise if you were to return home." Etch says, standing over the boy but staring past him into the dark tunnel ahead, "The previous encounter has left me in need of some minor repairs. It would be advantageous to rest a moment and allow me to make adjustments." The construct says to no one in particular.
Oct 18, 2016 12:11 am
"Unfortunately, seeing in the dark is not one of the things I am apt at." Colten mused as he sat down by the entrance of the tunnel, sheathing his blade with a flourish. The nobleman takes a sip from his wineskin, now filled with the best Phadalin brew.

"Well, I guess I can let you guys handle it from here!" Carp says with all of the false bravado he can muster before running as fast as he can back towards his mother's farm. Peering into the tunnel you can just make out a faint light source quite some distance away. While not enough to actually light the tunnel in a useable manner it does give those that lack the ability to see in the dark a reference as you move forward.

One hundred feet later you find yourselves at the entrance of a large natural cavern. The cold breeze within this area carries the faint scent of decaying flesh. A crevasses divides the cavern and is flanked by two rough stone columns that support the twenty foot high ceiling. Two arched wooded bridges span the chasm.

What just happened, what did I do this time?

Ha, lad if you climb down you might be contributing to the smell. Best not. Looking around I find a small stone on the ground and cast light on it. Best we keep our distance, and still trying to gander on whats down there. Tossing the enchanted stone down the crevasse.
Oct 21, 2016 11:05 pm
The bridge, which consists of wooden planks laid across a couple of support beams, appears to be perfectly safe. There are no railings, so a bit of caution might be in order when crossing.

As Etch examines the bridge the rest of you peer into the crevasse just to the south. The light from the oil lamps don't show much detail as to what's at the bottom but Delg's lighted stone is another matter. Landing with a crunch among a heap of well gnawed and brittle bones the light source reveals a relatively fresh half eaten body.
Oct 22, 2016 1:59 am
"It would be unsavory to eat that, even for ruffians. Be wary of other creatures." Colten said, indicating the half-eating corpse of whatever it was down the chasm. With that, he nobleman waltzes across the wooden bridge, keeping an eye out for danger, man-made or otherwise.

The bottom of the crevasse feels colder than Colten would have imagined as a unnatural chill comes creeps up his spine. Looking at the body it appears to have been dumped here after death but whatever has been gnawing on it has removed any clear signs of what may have killed the man. The remains of a heavy leather apron, with an embroidered 'TD' on the chest, still cover portions of the corpse.

Delg can easily see that the crevasse walls are rough enough that the noblemen shouldn't have any trouble climbing out.

"Ugh. . .fine, I'll help." Colten rolled his eyes visibly then followed Delg outside. There is nothing heroic about cleaning up after yourself after an epic confrontation!

The nobleman stops by one of the bled-out bandits and drags the corpse in by the heels, trying his best to keep his clothing clean despite the earlier fall. . .again. No doubt he will need them mended soon at the rate he is falling. Trusting these country bumpkins with his finely tailored clothes, however, is not a prospect he wants to consider at the moment.

My goodness, what did you eat? Colten thought, looking down at the dead man while shuffling backwards.

Rushing to Cori's aid the injured nobleman wastes no time in dispatching yet another foe and the third man of the group drops dead to the ground, much to Cori's relief.

Etch's blade thrusts forward, but the move is telegraphed just enough the that last remaining opponent easily side steps the attack.

Delg's bolt ends the battle, crashing into the last man and sending him flying to the floor. Cori drops to one knee, obviously hurt, not sure that he can continue on. On the table in the middle of the room you find 75cp, 55sp, 22ep, and 15gp. There is also a gold earring set with a tiny ruby.

"Yeah. . .although it would be best if we took another breather." Colten said with a light huff, clutching the bleeding wound on his chest. Leaning down, he wipes his sword on one of the dead men's tunics before sheathing it, then looks around the room.

Colten sits down in one of the chairs that the Redbrands were sitting in, shoving away one of the corpses with his legs as he leans back while continuously applying pressure to the wound on his chest. Hopefully the bleeding stops before something else happens.

"You have sustained some injuries." Etch says to Colton, "It may be dangerous to rest here, but also dangerous to continue. Shall we we close the door and allow for you to repair yourself?"
Nov 28, 2016 4:52 pm
"I am not the only one injured here." Colten quickly eyed Etch and Cory. "A closed door and a few tables behind it should do the trick. If you disagree, we could always head back outside, find a picnic spot in the woods, and do the same. It might be best for Cori to head home at this rate anyway."
Nov 29, 2016 12:25 am
Cori nods his head. "I'm all for figuring out what's going on here, but I'm not prepared to die to do so" the halfling says, eager to be on his way.
OOC:
Short rest and continue on then?
Nov 29, 2016 12:26 am
"It seems wise to rest then. I will watch." Etch turns and stands facing the open door.
OOC:
Sounds good to me.
Nov 29, 2016 2:20 pm
After Cori leaves, Colten helps his companions construct a makeshift barricade with the tables and chairs available before sitting down to rest. Within minutes, the large oozing gash on the nobleman's chest had clotted over, leaving a wet scab that may easily reopen should he strain himself. Color returned to Colten's sun-kissed skin, and his breathing became much smoother, much more relaxed than before.

"I say we try our hand with this door." Colten says after the rest, pointing to the southern side of the room. It is amazing how much a little rest could lift the spirit. Despite his uncharacteristically battered appearance, the nobleman has recovered much of the spryness that he lost from his injuries.

Without saying anything, Colten gestures to his companions about opening the next door towards the south. After Etch and Delg is ready, the nobleman quickly tires to open the door, hoping that it is unlocked.
Nov 30, 2016 11:54 pm
As you open the door your nose is assaulted with the smell of unwashed bodies and rotten meat. Inside three tall furry humanoids are lounging about in the mess, barking orders at a sad little goblin who faints when he sees you standing at the door.

The three tall creatures rise to their feet, not all too happy about having their entertainment pass out in front of them.

In retaliation the wounded bugbear takes a backhand swing at the nobleman with is morning star, landing a blow on the side of his head. [11 HP]

Not to be outdone another one of the creatures charges in on Etch and letting his weapon do the taking strikes the construct hard across the back. [17 HP]

The large creature facing Etch eyes widen in shock (ha! Get it?) as the construct's crackling blade cuts deep into its abdomen. Dropping its weapon it tries desperately to stop the flow of blood and gore from spilling forth but the damage is just too great. The bugbear falls at Etch's feet.

Still trying to find its footing while slipping in blood works to the bugbear's advantage. Bumbling about it manages to avoid Colten's attack, the tip of the blade just barely scratching its forearm.

The goblin, as ordered, heads towards Delg by the doorway, screaming a high pitched battle cry that's more annoying than intimidating. The construct plants its greatsword on the ground and leans on it. Its hip looks dislocated, and something has become dislodged in the right shoulder. Dec 20, 2016 6:18 pm
"Well Droop, know that we can't always protect you if you choose to go with us, so be sure to hide when fights break out. Last time we had a goblin like you. . .never mind." Recollecting himself, Colten stands and shakes off his stupor.

"Off we go, then. I don't see any reason to stay here but to endure more stench." Colten said with a grin as he pushes himself off. The stupor that he had one moment ago from head trauma seems to be gone for now, although this day was certainly not one of his proudest. When he can, he'll need to find himself a new set of fine clothes.

"Droop can take to leader. Follow Droop!" the goblin says, pushing back his long hair behind pointed ears. He leads you out of the current room back the direction that you came. He slowly peeks his head into the room where the four Redbrands were playing knucklebones and looks back at all of you. "Good work!" he says, chuckling just a bit as he gives one of the corpses a swift kick.

Exiting the room he points at the closed door on the other side of the hallway. "Glasstaff in there" he says quietly as he moves away from the door and walks up a few of the stairs to make room for the rest of you.

"Cut off the head of the snake, right?"Colten said in a hushed whisper while indicating to Glasstaff's door with his hand.
Dec 31, 2016 12:51 pm
"Indeed." Etch replies, hefting its greatsword and stepping up to the door. Once in position, the warforged tries to open the door.
Dec 31, 2016 10:17 pm
The door opens easily into a room which appears to be a wizard's workshop. A rat scurries across the floor and takes refuge under a large worktable set up with alembics, retorts, distillation coils, and other alchemical devices, all of it stewing and bubbling away. Bookshelves are crowded with sheaves of parchment and strange looking tomes.

Seeing it's the wizards room, I look around for spell scrolls or spell books. Right, let's see what this wizard is about.
Jan 6, 2017 12:57 am
As Colten starts to push the door open he hears quite the commotion from behind him as Etch flips over the work table sending all of its items crashing about the room. Etch brings his greatsword straight down on the stunned rat, who lets out a quick squeak before being slice in two. Both halves of the rat wriggle about momentarily before disappearing in a puff of smoke.

Colten peeks into the room through the open door and sees what appears to be a bedchamber of some sort, with walls covered with drapes of scarlet cloth. The furnishings include a small writing desk with a matching chair and a comfortable looking bed. A small wooden chest lies at the foot of the bed.

"Secret door in that room!" Droop explains proudly, hoping to show his worth to his new friends.

Rifling through the now scattered contents of the work table Delg is able to determine that Glasstaff was trying to brew potions of invisibility, but he can't tell if the wizard was successful or not. Among the scribbled notes and tomes of basic alchemy Delg uncovers one that is written in Dwarvish.

It's the journal of an adventurer named Urmon and it describes the history of the Lost Mine of Phandelver and the Forge of Spells (some details provided below). In addition there are notes about a magic mace named Lightbringer that was commissioned by priests of Lathander, the god of dawn, from the gnomes and dwarves of the Phandelver Pact. The mace was lost when Wave Echo Cave and its mine vanished from history.

https://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic3330842.jpg

More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well. But then disaster struck when ores swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.
A powerful force of ores reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern.
Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.

"What secret door?" Colten asked while looking over the contents of the next room. A powerful wizard might just be the sort of foe he wanted to duel against, although this "Glasstaff" fellow might just be the slimy sort with foul plans behind plans.

Etch steps into the room behind Colton, hand clasping the greatsword - a faint 'crackling' sound in the air around it as the blade faintly hums with electrical energy.
Jan 13, 2017 7:59 pm
"Onward then." Colten said before hurriedly opening the ajar "hidden" door. If Glasstaff left his hidden door this way, it would mean that the man is fleeing. If he is fleeing, then it is best to give chase. Unless it is all a trap, in which case. . . Best not to think about it.

Pushing the hidden door open the rest of the way you find yourselves in a hallway which contains a small flight of stairs that appears to ascend into a solid wall.

"Another secret!" Droop yells from behind before he pushes past everyone to get to the top of the stairs. "Up the stairs and to the right!" he says proudly, pointing to the left. He quickly scans the wall and with a quick push of bricks the wall slides open revealing another room.

This room is at the north end of the large natural cavern that you had found when you first entered the hideout. The room itself has been finished with dressed stone block walls and a flagstone floor. Several barrels are store against the walls here along with a number of empty crates, straw for packing, hammers, pry bars, and nails.

Droop starts to run to the for corner of the room before coming to a halt as a familiar voice pierces your head.

Iarno says you are all food now!

The nothic that you had ran into earlier stands just outside the southern entrance of the room, ready to pounce.

Jan 26, 2017 12:08 am
"Spider guy? Is there a beast behind this plot?" The construct looks ahead, then twitches suddenly, shudders and its plating begins to shift. A red electric glow pulses from inside, sending harmless arcs of energy into the air around it. After a moment, the constructs form stills. Its faceplate, once flat and humanlike, is now protruding and snoutlike. Red, wolf-like eyes glow from the inset sockets. Its back is arced, and legs bend backwards at the knees. A now-clawed hand grips the greatsword hilt, the electric energy surging through it now red.

Droop nods to Colten and motions for all you to follow him north of the cavern and into what appears to be a stockroom. There are several barrels and empty crates, along with packing straw, hammers, and nails. Apparently someone has been preparing items to be shipped. As you look about the room Droop heads of the north east corner and starts to fiddle with a few loose stones on the floor. After a moment the wall slides open and with a grin on his face the goblin asks you to keep close.

He points to a door directly across the hall, "Redbrands keep weapons there" he says before walking to the end of the hall and slowly pushing open the door. Three large stone sarcophagi stand within this dusty crypt and propped up against each is a human skeleton clad in bits of rusty mail. False columns along the walls are carved in the image of spreading oak trees. The double doors in the southeast corner are sheathed in tarnished plate.

Droop leans into the room, holding onto the doorframe as he does and points to the door in the north east corner. "Prisoners!" he says quietly, trying to keep his voice down.

Etch, caught off guard by the sudden attack, is unable to connect with his counter, much to the relief of his opponent. Fortunately Colten and Delg have better luck, each striking one of the men with their attacks. Undeterred both lash out at their nearest rivals.

While Etch is able to easily deflect his opponent's first attack, the man gets lucky with the a counter stroke and scores a glancing blow off of armor.

Colten is also able to fend off one attack, but the second gets through his defense and nicks the nobleman across the collar bone.
OOC:
3HP each to Colten and Etch (before any modification, of course). Good guys are up!

"Filthy waste of life, die!" Colten shouted as pain shot down his arm. Enraged by the Redbrand's attack, the nobleman aimed his rapier at the bandit's heart before thrusting forward in a quick flash.

Colten's blade easily slips between the ribs of his bandit attacker, piercing the man's heart in the process. He crumples to the ground and quickly bleeds out.

Lunging forward Etch's greatsword nearly bisects the remaining bandit as it slices through the his midsection. With both of the guards easily dispatched you notice the three prisoners in the southern cell. Not sure what to make of the construct the women in the cell ushers two other prisoners away from the bars.

Her voice trembling she asks, "Who… who are you?"
Feb 21, 2017 6:12 pm
Umm I guess you could say we're here to set ya free. Not much for guards they were.
Feb 21, 2017 6:14 pm
The construct sniffs the air, its eyes glowing red - hungering to spill more blood. Etch looks at the caged prisoners, then grabs onto the cell door and begins to pull on it trying to free them.

The bars creak and start to bend as Etch strains to pull the cell door open. His efforts, however, fail. The women cautiously walks forward from the back of the cell. "The wizard is the only one I've ever seen with a key to these pens" she offers, "but there may be something of use in that pile."

She points to a pile of discarded clothing along the far wall off the room.

"You can always try to break the lock, I suppose." Colten suggested, looking at door. Casually, the nobleman strides over to the pile of discarded things and takes a quick look.

Rolls

Investigation - (1d20+1)

(11) + 1 = 12

Finding a few old tools in the pile of clothing Colten is able to bust the old lock just enough that the cell door can now swing freely. Motioning the two others in the cell forward the woman cautiously exits and gives a few swift kicks to one of the dead guards.

"Redbrand bastards…" she spits. "They was going to sell us!!"

Taking a few deep breaths to get a hold of her emotions she introduces herself. "I am called Mirna Dendrar and these are my children, Nars and Nilsa. Redbrands murdered my husband and then came back for us."
Feb 23, 2017 2:44 am
"Sorry for your loss. We've done what we could to rout these hooligans, although I am sure there are a few more out there." Colten said as he studied the woman and indicated towards the armory with a gloved hand, "There is an armory right there with some armaments over there for your protection, ma'am."
Feb 23, 2017 5:25 pm
Mumbling under my breath What a fine party this has turned into. We're joined by goblins women and children.
Feb 23, 2017 11:34 pm
"Unless those weapons are wood carving tools, I'm afraid they won't be of much use to us" Mirna claims. "We just want to get out here and back to town."
Feb 24, 2017 8:16 pm
With the prisoner's free, the construct looks for more pathways they have not yet explored, sniffing the air to see if it catches the sent of more thugs.
Feb 25, 2017 8:13 pm
"In that case, ma'am, I would sit tight until this place is cleared of Redbrand vermin. It should be relatively safe though." Colten added.
Mar 1, 2017 12:31 am
"We're not staying another minute in the this place!" Mirna exclaims. "We will follow behind you, just lead the way out of here."

Etch sense of smell is overwhelmed by the rankness of the cells. If there are other bandits close by he's unable to detect them.

Mar 9, 2017 6:20 pm
OOC:
Colten prefers to be chivalrous and will escort the women and children back to town before continuing, although the fact that they never learned more about Cragmaw does not sit well with the nobleman.
