OOC:
Yes, Tronus is the one with the poisoned sickle, so roll 'em up, Remnant!
Dec 1, 2020 3:14 pm
OOC:
Yea, as I mentioned Bruv had decided against trying to take her out.

So I believe it will be on Remnant to kick things off here?

Edit: ninja'd by the GM!

Anzila's eyes widen as Tronus approaches the cage with the sickle. "What—What are you doing! Watch where you're pointing that thing! What is the meaning of..." The woman throws herself to the back of her cage and pulls in her feet, but Tronus manages to slice her ankle with the poisoned blade.
OOC:
She takes 2 wounds. Resilience check incoming...
The weaver slumps to the bottom of the cage, yanking the sickle along with her. Tronus finds himself almost losing his grip on the weapon, but he manages to keep it from being yanked fully into the cage.
OOC:
For 2 Threat, Tronus will need to spend a maneuver next round to pull the sickle fully out of the cage.

She got 1 threat on her Resilience check, so let me know if you have specific ideas how to spend it, even if to cause her strain. After that, the other 3 PCs can go if they have anything specific in mind; otherwise, we're out of structured time.

look like a natural sleep or just dont wake up to bother us at inconvinient times?
Nekurr moves instinctively to stop Tronus, then realises it is Tronus he is trying to stop and ... stops. "Well, I we don't need to explain why we forgot the boy then" he says, looking as the weaver collapses into a deep sleep

OOC:
From what you've ascertained about the poison they use, it causes a deep slumber, which is what appears to have happened to her. If you're suspicious she's faking it, that's a Perception check versus RRRG + 2Blk for darkness.
Dec 2, 2020 4:10 pm
Bruv, not trusting the woman's collapse to not be some deceit to buy herself time, gestures to her form and says, "Check 'er to make sure she's really out, eh?"
OOC:
I'll roll my side of a Perception check, incase it's needed, but don't know if that's even the best/"right" skill (as opposed to Medicine or something)?

Ninjad again! Although admittedly it took me awhile to type this one up cuz stupid work interfering...

I'll allow two boosts from assistance, assuming the others scan her, too... OK, so no help. 1 threat = she gets a boost on any attempts to break out from bar damage, if she does so at some point.
From all appearances, the weaver is fast asleep. However, Bruv does notice that one of the bars seems to have been damaged in the sickle attack.

Nothing much to do now but kill the woman outright or explore one of the other rooms—the closed door near the cage, the junk-filled room with candles flickering within, or the crawlspace accessible via a ladder in the corner.

Nekurr steps back, unsure if the weaver is not going to be a problem later. After awhile, he decides to check the junk-filled room. Maybe there are some clues, items or documents, that would warn them to what is going one here.
OOC:
I'd say a quick look around be fore we go into the closed room, so to see if we get a better idea of what is going on.
If we split in 2, Nekuur can help someone with better perception/cunning ,)

OOC:
I keep forgetting that Nera is about, and she has Heightened Awareness, a passive +1 boost on all your Perception and Vigilance checks when she's in short range, +2 when she's engaged with you. I added a third boost to the check to see if the woman is faking, and it pushes the roll to a success. (Maybe I should have left well enough alone, as I get the impression you really don't want to engage with this threat?) At any rate, you can tell she's pretending to be asleep. But at least she's quiet, so you may still decide to leave her be for now while you explore the rest of the house.

The other option is to confront her further, but it seems you don't want to do that. Or kill her, though that will have repercussions later, as you have only circumstantial evidence that she's done anything wrong.
On second glance, Bruv notices the woman's eyes open briefly, fix on him, the close once again. He suspects that the poison hasn't had its intended effect on her. She's probably faking.
Dec 3, 2020 4:00 pm
Bruv curses under his breath and mutters a sleep spell...
OOC:
Can I "Aim" a Spell? Add a Boost to the check? I'd like to do that with a Maneuver if possible... Action to cast an Attack spell with the Non-Lethal and Empowered adders...

We can't leave her conscious at this point gang, so I think everyone needs to pile on some Strain if they can. And she's probably a Rival or Nemesis with different tracks, so it all needs to be in the same damage category...

Have had crap luck with casting, so here goes nothing.

Nice... we'll, that's 14 Strain maybe? And with the Advantage, keep it silent?
OOC:
GM edit 1: Adversary 1, so replacing first rolled purple...

GM edit 2: Aiming on Attack spells is perfectly fine. Adding boost.

GM edit 3: But what's good for the goose, so defense and lighting effects apply.

OOC:
I dug around, and it seems consensus is that magic attack spells follow standard combat rules, so Aim maneuvers work, but targets still get to use their defenses. Setbacks for environmental stuff apply too (here, lighting). Narratively, we can say Bruv has to channel the spirits he's summoning, and it's not as simple as just giving them an order and expecting them to find their way past the cage bars to the target in the dark. Instead, he has to focus and orient them there... (Just realized she's also prone, which should make her harder to hit, but to hell with it.)

Still, it's a hit! 13 strain to her (since the Despair adds a Failure), minus her Soak (which also applies to attack spells).

The Despair will be revealed later...
To all but Bruv, it looks like the weaver is under assault from an invisible force. Her eyes fly open, and she thrashes about on the floor of the cage... Bruv, of course, sees a stream of spirits come out of the woodwork. He weaves them through the wires of the cage and to the darkened form there, causing her to thrash about. She seems to be quite awake now.
OOC:
Nekurr and Hildar are up! Non-lethal attacks continue?
Dec 3, 2020 5:02 pm
OOC:
Bruce will use an Incidental at the end of his turn to say something...
He hisses as quietly as he can to alert his comrades, " She's awake gang, put her out!"
Dec 3, 2020 8:51 pm
Hildar blinks in surprise and points his wand at the weaver....a wave of energy flows out and seems to strike at the woman in the cage.
OOC:
I can't do non-lethal Attack Spells so I'm going to try dropping a Curse on her with the Paralyzed Additional Effect (2 x Diff base, +3 Diff dice)

I don't think I've used Natural yet this 'session' so I'm triggering it to re-roll that....well that could have gone better. She is Staggered and removes one Ability dice from any checks for the duration of the spell.

GM Edit 1: Adversary 1 applies here, so re-rolling the first Purple...

Corrected the roll slightly (adding in Adversary 1, and adding a green for Hildar being augmented by Nekurr). She's unable to perform an action until the end of Hildar's next turn, and then as long as Hildar maintains the spell with a concentrate maneuver beyond that. But that requires him to stay within short range of her.

4 threat = that cage has seen better days.
Anzila jolts once again, and her limbs stiffen as if in some parody of rigor mortis. Her writhing seems to upset the cage, which comes unmoored from its fastenings in the rafters, and crashes down to the ground ...
OOC:
Nekurr is up!
Dec 3, 2020 11:01 pm
OOC:
Wow, didn't notice that Non-lethal was Skill-limited... guess it's a good thing it was Primal! 😂
Dec 3, 2020 11:24 pm
Hildar stands still in the middle of the room, his attention locked on the weaver. "I can hold the spell on her and I can keep the illusion going on us but....but it is quite taxing to do so" he says his voice quite strained
OOC:
I’m assuming I can spend 2 x maneuvers to maintain both spells....the rule book doesn’t say you can’t unless I’m missing something
Dec 4, 2020 3:05 am
OOC:
Correct; Hildar can maintain both the Mask and the Curse, but he'll suffer 2 strain per round (for an extra maneuver) and can't move as long as we're in structured time.
Dec 4, 2020 9:37 am
Understanding that they are likely going to be in deep trouble at some point, Nekurr closes his eyes, draws a card from his deck and asks Fortuna for a lucky break.
OOC:
If we're trying to add strain and she'll skip her next turn, I think I'll go for ennervate to avoid causing trouble. That's +1 strain damage when she takes strain damage against PPP, instead of -1 strain threshold for PPPP.
The half-catfolk opens his eyes to look at the card and breaths out in relief. The Harmony card. There could be no better sign from Fortuna. He smiles as he looks up to the weaver.
OOC:
I'd say advantage to notice something about what is going on (maybe from the junk room) and triumph to be so lucky no one notices anything strange about the badly beaten cell and weaver? :D

She now takes +1strain whenever she takes strain damage and downgrades a die I think
OOC:
GM edit: Don't forget her Adversary 1!

OOC:
I was going to use my action for the second manoeuvre so I shouldn't take any strain, just means I can't do anything else whilst maintaining the two spells I thought
